We visited the holiday village at the end of September and we had rain 4 days out of 7. In bad weather there was nothing to do in that resort. Also when it rained the marble floors are a real danger, they were very very slippery, My children fell down several times. First... more

The hotel and the food where quite good but the hotel was over-run with families and there was no entertainment for any one over 10 years old, apart from bingo every evening and then you couldn't get a seat in the entertainment area. If you went outside you had to be amongst smokers. Poorly run. Wouldn't go back if you paid me.

Location ======== Hotel was a little difficult to find, but partly my fault for not researching the exact location enough. Once you are there it is away from noisy-ness as it is in a suburb area, but still only a 5 minute walk from the main strip and the beach. Lovely... more

Absolutely wonderful! Accommodation was great, surrounding gardens beautiful; pool excellent. Only ate once in the restaurant, so not in a position to comment really. Entertainment was very good, which was mostly performed by the reps on the complex, who are not... more

We were overall impressed with Viva Majorca. The rooms were clean and very spacious. We have been to Viva Menorca (which we loved just as much) however the rooms were far more cramped. The pool had lots of different levels which were great for people of all ages. The... more

This was the fourth time we had visited the resort of Can Picafort but the first time to go self catering. For anybody who has never visited this resort it has a mixture of European nationalities, mainly German, therefore the surrounding restaurants offer a variety of... more

Excellant hotel for families with kids
A fanstastic resort to stay especially for families with young kids aged from 4 years plus. Activitities for kids for both day and evening is second to none. Our child is only 2 and half so he was a bit young to take part in any but the resort has a swing slide play area. We booked the room with the kitchenette and it was very clean, the bathroom had walk in shower, separate lounge and great view to the pool side. The service/staff and entertainment was excellent. Buffet Restaurant was a bit expensive but they served a good range of food. They even had plastic bowls, cups, knives and forks for children and plenty of high chairs.. Have to say the restuarant was well organised. If you prefer to eat out then there are plenty of restaurants outside the hotel (5 minute walk). The resort comprimises of mixed europeans as well as english. There is different entertainment each night finishing at 10.00 and the bar is open till 12:00. I did find the bar a bit expensive 3.65 euros for a pint of beer. The resort is located about 12-15 minutes walk to the beach. A bit of a walk but this did not bother us that much as spent most of time at the resort poolside. There are three excellent pools including baby pool which are very clean. Sun beds are available from 9:00 am inthe morning so we did not have any problems finding one.
Superb Accomodation & Excellent Weather
Arrived back from Viva Mallorca on 27th July after a 9 night stay booking flights, hotel and car hire all from my armchair. Saved a fortune booking last Sept via [--]& cheap bmi flights. Accomodation was excellent very spacious and had a fantastic walk in shower. Weather unbelievable hit a scorching 49 degrees around pool one of the days !! Went self catering so can't comment on food. On site supermarket expensive so we jumped in car and drove 5 minutes to main road bear left to roundabout called Capedra (unsure of spelling) - dirt cheap. We ate out every night, all very good but by far the best was Sa Ximida go straight out of hotel walk to main road and its on the corner in front of you. Very spanish, all fresh meat cooked outside on griddle. Great choice of T-Bone & Fillet Steaks and the biggest Kebabs i've seen. Just off the front there's a restaurant called Hamburg - unbelievably cheap and masses to choose from. 200 yards up the road on same side is the only Italian we found, service a bit slow but pasta dishes with fish excellent - well worth a visit. We love going to mixed Eurpean hotels so just up our street. No problems getting sunbeds at 9.30am and there was 8 in our party.Pool area very clean, grounds immaculate, staff hospitable. All of the site is wheelchair friendly too. Can't fault this accommodation well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.
Great Hotel
We allways look for a good standard hotel with a good list of activities to keep us and the 2 children 15 and 8 happy . We also try no to go to a too British hotel. The standard of accomodation was very good we possibly had too much space with a living room with bedroom and bathroom off with an adjoining bedroom /livingroom with bathroom. Both had balconies. The meals were good with a big choice . It might sound picky but a few negatives here in that the dining hal was usually very busy and the plates were cleared as soon as your cutlery hit the plate. The orange juice was rise and shine and the coffee definately from a machine. Its a fine balance but for us there were a little too many Germans and Dutch in July , more British for a better balance arrived towards the end of our holiday. The hotel was also better suited to kids in the up to 5 age group and the teen / adult activities werent best supported by the guests . Overall a good holiday and would recomend if you have younger kids and go say end July or August.
Nice hotel, shame about its location!
Myself, wife and two infants, have just returned from a 14 day holiday at the Viva Mallorca, Can Picfort. We found the hotel to be excellent. The grounds were well maintained and the rooms/apartments of a high standard. We were on half-board and the food and service, in the restaurant, was excellent. The same could not be said for the bar, staff here were slow and not the most genial. The hotel was ~75% German, 10% Scandinavian and 15% UK/Irish. We found the reception/cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. It really deserves its 4* rating. Unfortunately there were a few problems with it's location, Can Picfort isn't the prettiest of towns, a run down beach front and poor quality restaurants don't help. It looks like it has fallen on hard times of late. The hotel is approx 10 mins walk from the beach, crossing a busy main road. The beach is not very clean so not worth the risk. At all cost, avoid a evening excursion to the "Viva Can Picfort" hotel, a 5 min walk along the road from the Viva Mallorca. The Viva Can Picfort hotel is full, to over-flowing, with loud mouth Brits who would make Wayne and Waynetta Slob look refined! I'm serious this place is scary! Enter this dump at your peril. I should add I believe the Viva Can Picfort hotel is now owned by 1st Choice, if this is the sort of hotel they run I'd avoid using them altogether. As I say the Viva Mallorca was good value, clean and properly rated at 4*. Provided you have a hire car you'll enjoy your stay there as there a some lovely places to visit within 30-60 mins drive of Can Picfort. The local "Public" transport is slow and unreliable!! Our children (ages 1 & 2 yrs) were to young for the hotel kids club. We were told the club is for children of 4 yrs and above but we didn't have a problem with that as all the German kids think having fun is "verboten"! Joking aside the Germans were all very nice and showed no tendency to over indulge, unlike the scruffy Brits. We all pretended to be Irish!
Brilliant
Returned from Hotel Viva last weekend with my 3 daughters and partner. We had a brilliant time. Everybody else there on our stay was English and very friendly. The hotel it's self was fantastic. Very clean, well looked after gardens, superb pool for both adults and children. The food in the morning, lunch time and evening was spot on. The effort these guys put in is second to none, and we found the waiters and waitresses werer very friendly and kind with both our children and us. The evening entertainment was great for the kids, although I would say probably not suitable for teens as it was a lot of singing and dancing, which was pefect for my 7 and 9 year olds who loved it. The facilitys there are good to, it rained 1 day in our week, but we just spent the day in the indoor pool, jakousi and sauna. Then popped along to the cinema for a bit. There was also the internet in the reception which we went on to check weather now and again. The only moan I'd have was the sleeping arrangement. Our yougest had a cot which was fine, our other 2 daughters had the beds which left my partner and I on the sofa beds, very uncomfortable! So much so I ended up squeezing in the single bed with my daughters just to get some decent sleep. So I would recomend get a two bedroom appartment if there's 4 of you. Other than that, highly recommended.
excellent family orientated hotel
we have just returned from 10 days at Viva mallorca where we have had a fantastic time. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were big enough for our family of 4. We were a little worried about coming to spain, as we usually go to Florida and worried that the kids may be bored. Well they had a fantastic time at the kids club. They want to come back next year ! (much cheaper than Florida !). We ate in the restaurant a few times which was great, plenty of choice and all cooked fresh. Not as cheap as going into C'an Picafort, but still good value for money. The only negative point I can make is the children's entertainment was more for young children and my 10 year old would have liked a disco instead of party songs. Children up to 7yrs loved it though. There are lots of Germans at the hotel and we had some very rude ones in the room next to ours for the last 2 nights who sat on their balcony until 3am talking (quite loudly). Most of the other guests were very friendly. I would definately reccomend Viva mallorca and we are looking at going to another Viva hotel next year. We booked our holiday via their web site, much cheaper than booking as a package.
spotless hotel
Have just returned from a ten day s/c holiday at the viva Mallorca Aparthotel and found it well worth the four star rating. The rooms were a nice size and very clean in fact the whole complex was spotless. The poolside bar served very nice meals and there were no sunbed problems (plenty to go around). The pools themselves were fantastic as we had a 3 year old boy and the water was very shallow apart from the top pool. We tried the food in the hotel retaurant on a evening and were not very impressed, looked nice, but tasted juk, but it did'nt bother us as we were s/c. The gardens were lovely and very well kept and the whole complex had a nice new feel to it. The hotel guests were evenually split, english, german, dutch etc. The only problem was the evening waiter service which was very slow for drinks, as there were only 2 waiters to serve everyone who was watching the entertainment Overall we would definatly stop here again a very nice family holiday had by all
good holiday but a bit disappointed with the location
This was our third time at a Viva hotel so we consider ourselves to be honorary majorcans at this stage! The entrance ,reception and pool area are really impressive when you arrive and the apartments are lovely ,but not much kitchen facilities as they are very geared toward the german and scandinavian market who usually go all inclusive. Entertainment is good, waiter service not so good except f or Jose who is a diamond!!! Had a problem with ants in the apartment(4 times to be precise!) but to be fair they were sorted out each time with sprays etc.Seem to put all english, irish etc in Block 4 and anyone we talked to in that block had same problem .Bit let down about it though as we paid 3300 euros for this holiday and didnt expect ants all over the place! Overall we enjoyed our holiday but to be honest i think its not really for english /irish people `,even the kids club was very much german oriented. My 4 year old was in tears as she had secured hrerself afront row seat for the Alladin show only to be removed by one of the Viva entertainment crew to make room for one of the all day kids(the ones who are put into the kids clubs at 10 and taken out at 6 so mum and dad can concentrate on their tans!!!) The strip is same as a hundred and one others but make sure you go to Chinatown chinese restaurant ...excellent food at great prices. Location is a bit far away from the start of the strip ...if you were to walk to the furthest part its probably about 45 mins....not great for 4to8 year olds who have passed the buggy stage. Loved the previous two Viva hotels(Blue and Tropic) but something about Viva Mallorca didnt do it for me......time for achange???!!!
Brilliant Family Holiday!
Just returned from a week at the Viva Mallorca. The whole place was spotless and very child friendly. The hotel is only a short walk from the shops and beach of Can Picafort. We found the beach and shops in the resort to be very nice but the restaurants were a bit poor. The Monaco retaurant was nice however, as well as the Chinese Restaurant. The food at the hotel was okay although I wouldn't say I was overly impressed by the taste of it even though the presentation was fabulous.
Fab Hotel
just returned from 10 nights at this hotel. Hotel spotless everywhere ! Rooms huge. Pools excellent for children as very shallow (even main pool was maximum 1.2 metres deep). On first impressions hotel was full of Germans/Dutch but then as we got into the holiday, heard very many British voices, so we'd say half/half... Downside to this hotel is position, although in a very quiet position, 10 minute walk to main shops/restaurants, the resort itself is very grotty, not upmarket at all, compared to the hotel which is. I wouldn't go back due to the resort but if you like C'an Picafort then this really is the place to stay !!
