We booked this less than 2 weeks before we went and got a really good deal.
Was a bit doubtful re the accommodation as we had read all the negative reviews. We should not have worried.
We had a lovely room on the 6th floor with a great view of the sea. The accommodation was spotless, including the reception area, lifts, and corridors.
All the staff that we spoke with were very friendly and helpful.
The kitchen area was more than adequate with a very clean fridge, microwave, and a 2 ring electric hotplate. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and glasses.
The bedroom had loads of space with a table and 2 chairs, built in wardrobes and 2 single beds. The balcony was a good size as well. The towels were changed every 2 days and we had a change of bed linen half way through the week.
The large supermarket was only 2 mins away. I agree with some of the other reviewers that there were not enough sun beds at the pool so we just went to the beach instead.
We went from the airport to Fuengirola via the train. 1.80 euro single each! It was so easy to do and much cheaper than the £45 each quoted for transfers.
We would definitely go back again and stay at the Veramar.

This was the second time me and my husband have stayed here, we were impressed the first time, so we took other members of the family this time. 4 rooms in all everyone had a wonderful time, the breakfast buffet was great, full English or continental, with cereals, fruit juices tea and coffee all for 4euro.
The evening buffet was excellent value, there was also a 3 courses multi choice option for only 8 euro, the pool was spotless and the gardens well kept though there could have been a few more sun beds as the hotel was fully booked. The rooms were adequate for a self catering holiday with fridge, 2 hobs, microwave and plenty of pots and pans and utensils. The bathroom was small but had bath with shower over etc, the linen was changed twice in the week we stayed.
The staff were tremendous and made an effort to ensure everyone enjoyed their stay. The outside bar and tapas area was a hit with all of our party before we went out on the town, the beach is only 2/3 min walk and buses run from the end of the road into town. A tabac was only 1 min walk for all the duty frees.
The reception gave us same currency exchange as the bureaus. Having lived in this area for several years but now back in uk I can only say I wish I had known about the Vera Mar when we lived there and had visitors. We will be going back again and again and I’m sure so will all our friends and family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, found the kitchen to be quite small but then we ate out most evenings as you can get 3 course meals for 10 euros.
Nice clean swimming pool with loads of sunbathing space around it. 2 min walk from the beach and 5-10 min walk to the shops and town. The car park is small, but there is plenty of road parking space. Beware of the guys selling dodgy perfume and DVDs up and down the sea front, they are very annoying and their goods are rubbish.
The apartment was very clean and we had a balcony overlooking the pool. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

The apartments were spotless with small kitchen (microwave, 2 cooking rings, fridge), bath, power shower and constant hot water, in our 5 day stay the towels were changed twice.
All the staff from Cleaners to Reception were extremely helpful and courteous. Only took one meal in and that was Breakfast, full English available plus cereals, toast, continental, fruit juice, tea/coffee all self service and a cost of 4 euros, again restaurant area was spotless.
The apartments are in a quiet residential area and just a 10 min stroll from the beach and main shopping area of Fuengirola, the temp in March 26-31st was 24-28 C, cooled down a little at night but never under 18. Plenty of Supermarkets/Restaurants within 2 mins of apartment if needed. The Miramar shopping Centre is only a 5 mins walk and just behind the apartments, buses for Marbella, Benalmadena and Torremolinos also stop here.
We had an excellent 5 days stay at the Veramar and plan to return in the not to distant future.

Hotel staffs were all casually dressed, no uniform. No kitchen as specified in the brochure, no coffee/tea facility in the room. The balcony would not locked, the plumbing system made a continuous noise throughout the hotel.
Room is kept clean. Mattresses needs renewing. No variable breakfast menu. Foods are cooked sometimes by the waiter on ordinary clothes, same as the chef in the evening. The food that wasn't used baked beans, tomatoes, etc were bought down and reheated for next day. You could tell this by tide lines on the side of the dish. The evening meal over the a 7 days we stayed, five days were chips and the other two were sautéed potatoes. And again no variety in the meals.
The Christmas gala night was a total disaster where the food were pre-cooked so far in advance, not only did it lose its colour, but also filled with water and overcooked, and as a result, after complaining harshly, they did refund my money for the meal.
The area is conveniently located to the beach and shopping areas. Good parking. I would not recommend this apartment.

Our room was situated on the 3rd floor; it was a great size and had a balcony.
The room were clean, towels were changed every second day and bed linen was changed half way through the week.
The apartment had an adequate kitchen area, which included a fridge, microwave, 2 ring hob and plenty of plates ect.
These apartments had a nice clean swimming pool and a separate children’s pool, but lacked enough sun beds around the pool.
Large supermarket situated 2mins from the apartments and beach within walking distance.
Staff were friendly but did not speak much English, so a bit difficult to communicate with them.
Would definitely go back.
