We had an excellent stay at Divi Southwinds.
They are upgrading so there is a lot of construction happening but you can see the improvements in the works. The staff were extremely helpful but not overbearing.
So close to the action and the beaches. Highly recommend.

We had a brilliant time at the Divi Southwind hotel where we were all inclusive, there was 11 of us from the ages of 6 to 50 plus.
We went with an open mind and wasn't expecting too much of an high standard as some of the reviews we had read didn't give the hotel a very good write up. The first week the hotel was quiet with plenty of sun beds on the beach, the second week there was a bit of a shortage as the hotel filled up for Christmas.
There was plenty of free beach towels provided. On our second week the service did get even slower, the staff a little less friendly probably because maybe there wasn't enough staff to cope. There was some entertainment through the day with volley ball etc, and some evening entertainment with singers and the odd show.
The hotel is perfectly placed close to St. Lawrence gaps night life and near the lovely beach. Yes it was a little basic but clean, it's only a small complex with only two places to eat, sometimes a little repetitive, plenty of drinks and cocktails. We all went to swim with the turtles which was an excellent trip, don't forget to visit Oistins for the fish fry on Friday night, a great night for everyone.
All in all we would be happy to go back to the Divi. Maybe this year.

We went to Divi Southwinds in June 06 for our honeymoon, we chose Divi as it had a swim up bar, but all in all our holiday was a total dissappointment and shall not be visiting it again.
The swim up bar was closed and there was a terrible smell coming from inside it, the staff I found were very rude and was acting like they did not want to attend to our needs. It was ment to be a special occasion as it was our honeymoon and have never had an exotic holiday before and I must admit it had put me off ever goin to barbados again.
We did enjoy some aspects of the holiday like shopping in Bridgetown and swimming with the turtles and the roots and rythems night was great.
