" wet "

We booked this hotel after being told this was a good hotel, However the flight was delayed for 4 hours, we arrived at the hotel at 23.10, by the time we booked in and got our room,it was late, just caught the last drink at the hotel, whilst sitting around the bar area we got bitten by mozzies, lots of times, these turned into bad bites, their is a large pond that you have to walk past several times a day and the mozzies are always their, anyway the room that we were given was small and shabby and the aircon constanly spat water at us and the floor was always wet, the aircon made a very loud buzzing noise so It was very hard to sleep, good job I took ear plugs, this eased the noise, however the husband and son had to suffer, We complained to the hotel and rep, the said they would fix this, they said they did, the water kept on coming and the aircon kept on buzzing, so we complained again this went on for 3 days, eventually they moved us after the whole of the room was soaking wet, they moved us to a superior room, massive,fridge all mod cons, when we walked down the corridor this was filled with spanish people, just goes to show that they look after their own. We had one night at 3.30am that some kids were banging on door along the corridor, 1 was ours, I chased them and they were spanish kids around 6 of them looking 12-15 years old, we complained along with several other people the reception just brushed it off, I wonder why, The food was ok, a little
repetative, the breakfast was horrible always full of grease and cold, the hotel staff were ok some chatted and smiled but not many. I would say that the holiday was ok, but would not rush back to this hotel, would go if I was given or won a free holiday to here.

Advice: Belalmadena is a great place, just make sure you book the right Accommodation

Activities: Macdonalds

Good for: Beach

" We paid for half board you would not... "

We paid for half board you would not have to eat out in the evenings The sirroco was well maintained. the staff were polite and the room was cleaned early each day most people who stayed there were very happy with their holiday! The food was great in the restaurants and very varied.
The down points were that the tv had limited coverage no sky and many stations were not in english, the entertainment at night and day let the hotel down it was very poor.

" just returned from 2 weeks stay at... "

just returned from 2 weeks stay at the sirocco, hotel was very clean, room adequate maid service exellent clean towels every day, food in the hotel was exellent espicially evening meal always something to suit everyones taste the salads were lovely. breakfast can be a bit of a drag when you have to que for a table seems like the whole of benalmadena in there some mornings ate out on a few occasions. The car park if you can call it that is a joke and its a wonder no ones been mowed down, its just not big enough for size of hotel. The resort itself is ok a bit tatty in places marina is beautiful.Wouldn`t recommend going here if you have limited mobility or a wheelchair user as the paths are a nightmare saw at least 10 people whist we were there with broken arms or legs were they had trippped and fell, public paths are in desperate need of renewing. Torremollinos is a bit flatter and better for walking, the promonade is very nice and you can walk quite a way in each direction and this is suitable for less mobile visitors. The bus service is very good and cheap we went to Mijas (breathtaking) well worth a visit , and Fuengirola thought was a bit scruffy went to markets in benelmadena and Fuengirola both good for bargains got the usual bag and shoes what we girls have to have, looky looky men are comical wouldn`t be the same without them we had some laughs with them and became friends, some good bars close to the hotel lots of irish bars we went to The Mad Ass across road very nice friendly pub also if your into tribute bands The Elefante round coner up hill we had a good time here and saw Westlives, Rod Stewart and Freddy Mercury. Went to Palome Park this is lovely if you have small children dosn`t cost a penny and there are chickens and peacocks and rabbits roaming free, there is also a big lake with carp and turtles in so take some bread to feed the fish the lake has a hedge all the way round so it is safe to let your little ones run free. Well i hope this review is helpful we did enjoy ourselves and hope the bad points don`t put you off just be careful of the pavements.

" Hotel Siroco is brilliant!
I... "

Hotel Siroco is brilliant!
I would recomend it to anyone. (First choice I wouldn't recomend, but definatly the hotel)
It is clean (rooms done daily), the food is awesome, huge choice and good quality.
The rooms are of a good standard, 2 double beds! The only thing it really missed was tea & coffee making facilities.
The entertainment is ok, it's all done in multi languages so can be quite slow, it's also fairly loud, our room was at the back of the hotel so we couldn't hear it but I'm sure the pool side rooms could hear every word!
The bar prices are quite steep and there is little on offer in the way of food durring the day.
It's a short walk from the beach (lots of steps, so not great for the less able bodied person, but not too taxing)

The marina is lovely but the bar prices are again-pretty steep.
The 24 hour square has a few of the 2-4-1 type bars-linikers is horrific, took forever to get a drink, but the other bars are worth a go if you like that sort of thing!
We didn't venture anywhere else, but apparently there is a train which costs 1 euro to get to malaga.

" RECEPTION>>>On arrival was treated in... "

RECEPTION>>>On arrival was treated in a pleasant and welcomiing manner. ROOM.standard,overlooked the lovely tropical gardens and was clean and towels changed everyday. HIRE a fridge 25Euros for the week. A MUST.paid for itself as the drinks by the pool could be pricey if you had the sun we did!most days was 85+ and one day was 98!!!
LOCATION...Great ok it was on a hill but you could get in and out by the "backdoor" with your room key.Shops and restaurants and pubs right outside and take the subway under the busy road and it will take you to the lovly beach and prom...5minutes.
POOLSIDE. Lovely pools,not very big and not deep but lovly to dip into now and then. t has a jacuzzi which does not work but great to just sit and soak up those rays!! Many small areas where you can shade from the sun.
ENTERTAINMENT.. Great during the day but much to be done about the evening.starts far to late especially for the childrens mini-disco.
MARKETS. The Fuengorlia Sorry about the spelling. BIGGEST I have ever been to and was full of bargains.1 euro 40cents on the bus,took 35minutes to get there so no way can you walk!!
SUPERMARKETS. SUPER SOL great for value. 5LTS water only 89CENTS!!!! pUT INTO SMALLER BOTTLE AND HEY PRESTO INTO the fridge and drinks for ever!!! The hotel charges 1euro 50cents for a small cold bottle,so hire that fridge. the staff will not ask you. if you want one you ask them.
317 thats the number of our room and can recommend that one as it has brill views.STANDARD but big enough for two.
Well that my review and will be going again.Ciao for now.

" Flew out with first choice with my... "

Flew out with first choice with my boyfriend to benalmadena siroco hotel in july 2008 and had a fab holiday. The weather was brilliant. The people and service was excellent very polite and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean with 2 big double beds, air conditioned, nice bathroom and shower, The maids cleaned daily and changed towels and made beds up every morning :] ! The food was lovley alot of selection and tasted really good. The reception area was very helpful And they were very nice although we found the reps wernt given us the informaion we would of liked. We had a balcony which was very nice but we would of liked a pool view also my boyfriend didnt find the gym very useful there could of been more equipment to use as it was limited fo people if it got busy, the pool bar was not open and the jaquzzi didnt work otherwise the pools were great and the view was gorgeous from our hotel :]. The marina was fab lots of shops and the beach is right on the front which is a 5 minute walk from siroco. Would def go back again. Take a look at the pictures ! I do not understand the Bad points thats some people have give for 3* we found it excellent and good value close to all shops,marina and beach and only 20 - 30 minutes from malaga airport ! :] :]

" My family and I have just returned... "

My family and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Siroco Hotel and we all had a great time! Our room was clean and comfortable, maid service every day. The beach was nice and close, easy access via a well lit subway. The food was plentiful, something for everyone, even our very fussy 13 year old daughter! Restaurant even happy to serve early breakfast on request, very handy when going on early day trips, we used this facilty when going on trips to Morocco and Gibralter which we would also recommend, book locally. The swimming pools were well maintained and we had no problem finding sunbeds. Benalmadena itself was great loads to do and see and the hotel was very well located for everything.

Would recommend this Hotel, and would definately use again.

" I recently stayed at the Siroco along... "

I recently stayed at the Siroco along with some friends. After reading some of the comments from past guests, I thought something should be said. The Siroco was fabulous, from the design of the hotel to the conditions and the treatment received from the staff. Nor myself or my friends wanted to leave. Everything we wanted was on hand, the prices at the bar was good and the quality of drink high. If we wanted a change of scenery all we had to do was cross the road or take a 5 minute walk to a good selection of bars. The access to the main beach was great with the private door which led to an underpass getting you safely to the beach and of course the Marina which is a must to see.

I have left the food till last. Absolutely brilliant!!!! Great choice and well cooked. The breakfast was always worth getting up for whether in a good condition from the night before or not.

We have already rebooked for September 08 and looking forward to it.

Best holiday for a long time.

" Just returned from the Siroco hotel.... "

Just returned from the Siroco hotel. Simple review comment the hotel is third rate. Public rooms are screeming out for refurb. Entertainment very poor. Dinning room menu very very basic and not much variation. Last but not least the swimming pool area is scruffy and not very pleasant. WOULD AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS

" Flights were both on time. Rep was... "

Flights were both on time. Rep was very good. Hotel was clean and rooms OK, but we were bitten badly by mosquitoes, and there was a lot of noise particularly on the last night. Food was good and excellent on some nights, although the breakfasts were limited in variety. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly, but there were 2 grumpy old men on reception. Situation of hotel is excellent, close to the prom and bus stops. New Year's Eve was excellent, with a lovely meal, gifts for both of us, free drinks all night and live music to dance to - one of our best New Year's Eves. Considering how much we paid, I think the holiday was great value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

" Main negative hotel points I feel... "

Main negative hotel points I feel worth noting:

- Several stains on carpets / walls in all corridors;

- Food, on occasions we tried the evening meal, was cold;

- Hotel during August very busy with locals, etc...Not necessarily hotels fault;

- Spanish guests, very loud, again, accept may not be hotels fault;

- Swimming pool, access was allowed to anyone local, therefore no space as non paying guests free to come and go;

- Decor in superior was nice, but was dirty and falling apart;

- Light fittings loose above beds, broken tiles on balcony, sand on floor;

- Towels not always washed, although daily room service was noted;

- Advertised evening entertainment for 14 nights was all in Spanish, bit disappointing when booked with leading UK tour operator;

- Car park was a joke, a danger to walk through.

However, we made best of the two weeks and managed to find enough great places locally to enjoy ourselves. Holiday gets 8/10...hotel only 2/10.

Good points in the area:

- Harbour is nice, picturesque in the evening...bit pricey;

- Beachfront very pleasant;

- Lots of choice for food and drink in the area;

- Johnny’s Bar 'up' the hill from hotel in nice square is excellent for sports;

- Recommend both Tivoli Park & cable car ride to mountain top.

" Went to Sirocco Hotel for New Years... "

Went to Sirocco Hotel for New Years Eve, - fantastic. Food 1st Class, the whole evening was great.

Stayed 5 nights. Food was good, plenty of choice. Breakfast typical Spanish but what would you expect going to Spain. The Hotel itself is dated and could do with a complete overhaul. Bedroom walls are paper thin you can hear everything; you can even hear people going to the loo.

I must agree with other comments about some of the staff, not very helpful infact ignorant in the dining room. Would go to Malaga area again for New Year's Eve, however would stay at another Hotel.

" We have just got back from Hotel... "

We have just got back from Hotel Siroco with First Choice and I cannot understand the negative reviews about food and the hotel that people have written so this is the reason I have written this review.

The food was as good as any five star hotel, and we have stayed in them, the accommodation was compact but clean and tidy and sheets changed during our stay and towels whenever we left them on the floor.

The staff worked very hard. The hotel is situated in a prime position very near the front and the garden and pools are beautiful. The weather was even accommodating up in the 20's all week.
For the price and time of year we had a very enjoyable holiday.

" We have just come back from the... "

We have just come back from the Siroco hotel today 21st July 2007 after spending 2 weeks there, and it was the worst 2 weeks I have ever spent in a hotel, and I would not recommend this hotel from hell to any-one, after the first week I wanted to go home.

The food was of a very poor standard and I mean poor, everything they cooked was very greasy and herbs were put on most things.

If you think you’re going to get a good breakfast think again. The only thing you can eat without getting a upset stomach is toast and cereal.

The evening meals was even worse the choice was very limited infact everything they served was disgusting.

The first week we was there it was all Spanish in the hotel who are very ignorant and also there is a lot of crime in this area, including the hotel.

Also the local Spanish who are not staying in the hotel are allowed to use the pools which should not be allowed.

The entertainment at night is the Spanish reps doing acts the snack bar pool is a joke.

If you still choose to go after reading this then you will be making a big mistake and waste a lot of money. A very disappointed customer.
