We were very disappointed with our visit to the cocktail bar in this hotel. We were staying at another Gruphotel in the resort that was very good. We paid 23Euros for 3 very watered down cocktails and a small glass of red wine so beware and complain then perhaps they will realise that you cannot keep ripping customers off as they will not visit again (it was very empty).

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after spending a wonderful time in Son Antem.
As a family with 3 children in tow we were very disappointed with certain aspects of our visit.
When we arrived we were allocated rooms which were 4-5 rooms apart. This was only rectified after we complained. The staff were unapologetic it only by chance the adjacent room was free. As this booking was for a family (with children, specified to Thomson) adjacent rooms should have been allocated automatically.
There were no double beds in the whole resort! They were all single – not what we wanted as adults. The beds were extremely uncomfortable; they slid along the marble floor at the slightest movement; the only way to prevent this was to put a cushion under the bed. I even considered checking into another resort, but as this holiday was pre-paid, we endured the duration. I suffered back problems as result even after my return.
We were in a very small minority in this hotel as around 99% of the other guests were from Germany. Again this was not mentioned prior to our visit and at times we did feel uncomfortable. The hotel was very focussed on putting the Germans first; to the extent they blasted the whole hotel with a tannoy in German, it felt like an episode of “Hi de Hi”. Whilst we don’t expect everyone to speak English we barely heard Spanish!
We felt less inclined to use the facilities due to the lack of staff who spoke good English, any important announcements were made in German. When room service was unsatisfactory it was very difficult to explain to staff due to communication issues.
At no time during our visit were there any representatives from Thomson’s to report out complaints.
The only positives were the cleanliness and the food.

The Gran Vista is an excellent hotel. The pool area is in gardens with tree's giving shade so no need to hunt down an umbrella.
There is 2 pools one has pools on different levels with waterfalls and another pool close to the garden entrance, they are both excellent. There is a free spa and fitness centre which I didn't try but heard it was very good.
The garden pool is suitable for very young children with 2 gently sloping walk in areas’. There is 3 baby pools in the hotel.
The rooms are lovely and spotless, there is a 20" TV that has BBC1, BBC2 and ITV. There is no bath but a lovely walk in shower. There is plenty of storage space. If you email the hotel and ask for pool view room on a high floor you get a wonderful view of the pool area right down to the sea.
These rooms are quieter than the rooms on the other side because of the coaches coming and going doing drop offs and pickups.
The food was good and they done different themed nights with at least 4 meat dishes and 3 fish dishes on top of the pasta and sauces available, desserts where plentiful with really nice cakes, cream cakes, cakes with fruit on, fruit and ice cream.
Breakfast had a good selection, egg, bacon, beans and the hot dog style sausage. Cold meats and cheese, cereals, buns, cakes and more. You can eat your breakfast and dinner on the outside terrace.
For late arrivals the dining room has dishes available and for early leavers the dining room is open from 3am to 7am for breakfast with a small buffet.
The bars. There is a main bar in the hotel and there is a roof top vista bar that gives lovely views over the resort and the sea. You can see wonderful sunsets from the roof top bar. Bar prices were cheaper than the British bars in the resort.
On arrival you are given a card to use to credit purchases to your room, drinks at dinner, bar and snack bar. I found it very useful if was short of cash which meant I didn't have to run off to the atm to top up funds. Entertainment was ok with tribute bands on different nights.
The location of the hotel is excellent on a small side road off the main road, very quiet.
The beach is 300 meters across a main which is no problem because when you come out of the hotel to the main road there is a traffic light crossing.
You walk in a straight line and the centre of the resort is on the way to the beach. The beach is sandy and slopes gently into the sea which suitable children.
I highly rate this hotel and would recommend the hotel to anybody looking for quality accommodation. The hotel is a Thomson platinum hotel and deserves to be classed as a platinum hotel.
I am very fussy and often find fault with accommodation I have stayed in but this hotel I couldn’t find anything wrong. The hotel is new this year in Thomson summer sun brochure. There are apartments in the complex as well and talking to people staying in them said they are lovely and better than other apartments they have stayed in.
I believe I have given an honest description of the hotel.
Anybody wanting a good quality at a reasonable price give this one a try.

What a wonderful hotel. The lovely gardens and pool area with 2 pools, plenty of shade from the tree's in the garden and no fight for sunbeds. We came down to the pool after mid-day and there were plenty of sunbeds. The main pool in the garden is suitable for toddlers with 2 walking in areas. The pool is set on 2 different levels with waterfalls and a couple of paddling pools.
The children staying in the hotel were all well behaved and there are no kids running riot at night or in the evening. Probably because this hotel is a different class to the usual 3* hotel the brits go to and a little more expensive. I booked the hotel through Thomson build your own holiday on their web site and can't complain paying £997 everything in for 3 of us sharing a room including day flights. If I had booked a little earlier I would of got the hotel for £892.
The food is good and above average, the choice is large with at least 7 or 8 meat or fish dishes not including the pasta, the deserts are good with loads of cakes and puddings, fruit and ice cream. There is 3 dinning rooms that come off the buffet area and a out terrace where you can take breakfast of main evening meal. Breakfast has a good varied choice with egg, bacon, beans and the usual cold meats and cheese, cake, and bread and more.
The rooms are lovely with a very nice walk in shower, the 20" TV has BBC1, BBC2 and ITV on it, a first for me in a hotel. I thought the hotel would have the usual spanish and german channels. Plenty of storage space.
There is a free spa, badminton court, tennis court and mini golf. The kids club is run and is german, I think thomson should have their own kids club which would attract more british families to the hotel which is very child friendly.
There is a snack bar and 2 bars, one in the main part of the hotel and the other on the roof with lovely views over the resort and sea. You can sea wonderful sunsets from the the roof top bar.
It is popular in the evening and what gives the hotel its name because vista means view.
On arrival the hotel issues you with a card with your room number on it, this is used in the restaurant and any of the bars and snacks to credit purchase to your room if you want to or you can pay cash if you want. I found this very handy because it meant if I was running short of cash I didn't need to go off to the ATM for more cash.
The beach is only a 5 min walk from the hotel and its in a easy straight direction across a main road which isn't a problem because of a traffic light crossing just outside the hotel. The hotel is set on small side road and the room are well away from the main road and there is no noise from the main road. The beach is lovely soft sand that slopes gently into the sea. The resort has plenty amenities with the usual shops, bars and restaurants. The resort is very busy in the evening with a lot of promenading going on. There is only a few disco's in the resort.
I don't know where the previous reviewer was staying because the hotel is not near enough to the sea to hear the sea crashing onto rocks from the rooms. It is certainly not the gran vista.
I can't recommend this hotel enough and I am sure anybody who goes to this hotel will not be disappointed.

We have had a wonderful holiday. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were cleaned every day with clean towels and shower gel every day.
The room we had over looked the sea and it was so relaxing listening to the sea bounce over the rocks.
The food was basic Hotel food but plenty of it and always prepared and presented very well, if you are looking for a big English breakfast forget it.
This hotel caters a lot for the Spanish and we were made to feel very welcome we had a sing song in English and Spanish, the language barrier no problem.
I was invited to learn their dances and learn to play Spanish cards
This Hotel is in a good location with all amenities close to the bars are cheap and cheerful.
We are hoping to go back in October 2007.
