" Very sub standard hotel "

This was very disappointing experience of a sub standard hotel in a vast city such as Dubai.The bathrooms & toilets were very dirty.Water supply was just a treacle.The patio doors to the balcony did not open (in case of fire).The curtains were dirty & heavy with grime.None of the staff members had a smile on their faces.The hot breakfast was a bit of a joke.Only two types of breakfast which was monotonous on alternative days,so do not get fooled by the hot breakfast offer.No one to listen to your complaint.If you happen to catch the manager on site he will only advise you to post your view on the internet.The hotel itself is situated in a very noisey area.The TV has minimum channels.Above all the so called swimming pool is the size of children infattable swimmimg pool near the restaurant.The water of the pool had been stagnant for many days.During our stay did not see a single person using the pool.

Advice: Good enough to be visited at least once in a lifetime.

Activities: Desert Safari was the best attraction.

Good for: City Breaks

The hotel was clean, air-conditioned.
I found Dubai very hot, absolutely hot, kept sweating. My make up was not necessary as I kept sweating.

I was expecting that Dubai being a Muslim country will have restrictions on the way one dresses, i.e. cover ones face and dress in long robes. There was nothing like that. Though I guess decent dressing is advisable.

Most of the traders didn’t speak English, but it was easy to communicate with them. There were good quality items to buy at good prices. Electronics at good prices as well as suits, jeans, gold and large variety of jewellery.

It is highly recommended for sun lovers, you will definitely come back tanned.
