Having been to Mallorca before I was more impressed with Can Pastilla than Alcudia. Can Pastilla is a very clean resort nice people and a high police presence near the beach area making it a safe place to relax and enjoy the nice sandy beaches. I’ve been here twice now in... more

In 2 days time I will visit this hotel for the 4th time. The staff couldn't be more helpful. I was quite shocked on my 2nd visit; a year later, that the bar man actually remembered me, as did the main receptionist. As a really fussy eater, I found the food to be... more

enjoyed our time
We booked a short break to Majorca and chose the Leo Hotel as it was not far from the airport. We were a bit concerned about the noise from the airport but we were gratefully surprised that we heard little noise. As has been stated in other reviews we found the hotel clientel mainly spanish, but what do you expect when you visit a spanish holiday resort, a hotel full of brits i think not. We found the hotel room to be clean, the food was mainly good, although the english breakfast was always cold. The staff on reception were helpful and if they wanted to they could have laughed at my basic spanish but they seemed pleased that we at least attempted to speak to them in their language. We enjoyed walking along the beautiful promenade during the day, the resort has a clean beach and for the time of the year a number of restaurants and bars were closed. We will definately return to the Leo and the resort in the future.
Value for money.
We were a party of 6 ladies of 40-ish. We booked online and wanted somewhere not too far from the airport, close to beach, bars, restaurants. The Leo was all this. No aircraft noise, rooms clean if a little dowdy. Staff were helpful, food was fine but would be boring if you were staying more than a week. The entertainment was ideal for families with young children but singles head down to bars. The resort was great for walking and cycling along the beaufiful promenade. I would recommend this for all the above reasons but not if you want a wild time. Up to a week as a chill zone only! I'm going back this year.
Unbelieveable Value
This hotel is an incredible bargain. All bedrooms are well equipped, public areas are smart and beautifully kept and food is above average. There is also a well kept swimming pool. Approximately 5 miles from Palma - don't miss it.
total disgrace
overrun with spanish school kids, who took over the pool, they jumped in the holiday makers got out ,teachers looked like they were enjoyin a free holiday thou, evening entertainment......taken over by school kids who made there entrance like the "KIDS FROM FAME"ONLY SOOOOO MUCH LOUDER,it was not a hotel as we know it,but a spanish school holiday camp, but hey those kids had a good holiday, shame for everyone else!!!!!meal time was more fun if you like runner beans for breakfast or broccolli with your fry up ...then this is the place for you.and the food well ,ill say no more but if you are hungry you will eat it but dont attempt the scrambled eggs,YUK,try to get in before the kids tamper with it.please move out of there way as they wont move for you.dont complain to management cos they know what its like ,there used to it most people complained and SORRY was the best you got ....i will leave you to make up your own minds thou.try this school holiday camp IT MIGHT BE JUST WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR .......LAUGHABLE EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL.
I can't wait to go back to the Leo Hotel
My first visit to Mallorca and I chose the Leo because it looked good value for money at £20 per night half board for a single room and it was. I stayed for a week. The choice of food both at the breakfast buffet and at the evening meal was excellent - eat as much as you like of what you like. Large beautifully laid out dining room with a dedicated team supplying the food and clearing the tables, Everything was spotless both in the dining room and in the rest of the hotel. 30 second walk to the wide well groomed beach. Buses into Palma run frequently along the road just behind the hotel - it takes about 20 minutes into Palma and costs about one euro each way - slightly cheaper if you buy a card from the tobacco shop valid for 10 trips. It was extremely quiet even though the hotel was full. Virtually all guests were Spanish with a sprinkling of English and German. Incidentally, the £20 per night was obtained by booking through Easyhotels - the normal price if booked direct with the hotel would have been £40. If you can't be bothered to walk into town which only takes a few minutes and buy your needs from the supermarket, then there are small shops nearby but I found them pricey although of course they are offering a convenience service. So I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Leo and I am about to book for 2006 - it's gone up to £23 half board single room. Although you can hire a car I used buses and trains to get around the island - they were cheap and got me to all the main places. Fortunately the weather was excellent during my week 7-14 April and there were not too many tourists at that time of year.
Great value for money
Have just returned from a long weekend break and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. ALthough the hotel is mainly used by Spanish and German tourist there were a few English staying. The rooms were very clean albeit a little basic, but all you need is a clean bed, spotless bathroom and balcony. The pool area was lovely, there was lovely background music, poolside bar and plenty of empyt sun loungers. The dinning room was clean and airy and the buffet breakfast was adequte. All in all a nice place to stay with the added benefit of a beautiful beach about 3 minutes walk away. I would definately return.
Great and cheap
We travelled to Can Pastilla in March 2005. We often go here as it is cheap to get to from England. The hotel was pleasantly clean , the staff were friendly and we were not dissapointed. We stayed on a half board basis and were amazed with the quality of the food. There is plenty to choose from and even my moody teenager son was happy!!!!!!!!! The rooms are average but very clean. You might not always have a good view but who cares!!!!!! (Please remember to tip the cleaning maids before you leave as they don't earn a lot. I gave mine 3 euros for the 3 days we were there and she was very happy) There is also a good sized pool with plenty of sunbeds. The hotel has a spacious bar which doubles up for the entertainment of an evening. While we were there we watched Spanish bingo, a magician and a singer!!!!!!!!!! The beach is about 30 seconds away and so are all the shops, cafes and bars. We enjoy this area for short breaks during the off peak season but would imagine it would be very busy in the peak season. The bus to Palma costs 1euro 20cents each (I don't think you pay for small children) Here there is plenty to see and do. The cathedral is a must and so are the shops, which there is plenty of. Lots of bars and cafes too. I would definitely reccommend the Hotel Leo.
Basic but good value
Just returned from a stay at the Hotel Leo. It is a typical European three star, that is, basic. The reception people are not always as helpful as they could be. The food rates a big plus. Always varied and plentiful at the buffet. Most of the waiting staff are most helpful and efficient. The swimming pool area is well taken care of and there are always plenty of lounges. The beach is only minutes away and is gorgeous. Many Brits and Germans. Met some nice people. No air-conditioning but most nights were sleepable. You can rent fans, curling irons, safe, etc. But it is expensive. All in all, would say value for the money if you can roll with the punches.
Does anything work??
Reception staff bad; lifts sometimes not working very well (one day none of them [3] worked), even the computer with internet connection (1euro for 10mins!!) didn't work. It is cheap hence be prepared. No air conditioning means really hot room unpleasant to sleep. You might even be lucky enough to get a room facing one other hotel hence having to be very careful otherwise people might see you undressed. One definitely good thing: the food. For the price and the quality of the hotel the food is very good. The problem is that not always you will find a clean table and to get a waiter to prepare a table for you is not very easy. Not the most sophisticated people either... Think very well if this is what you want.
Last minute to Manjorca
Booked into the Hotel Leo last minute. Stayed for 6 nights from 27 August 2004. We were told that the hotel was mainly used by Spanish Dutch and German tourists, which was fine by us. Food was basic, and filled a hole (although we did tend to frequent the excellent fish restaurants in the harbour) Unklike the previous holiday maker we found the reception staff very helpful and was able to book our room until we checked out with no trouble at all. Room was basic, but very clean, and there was always plenty of hot water. As for the resort, beaches were great, and would not say no to staying in this area again.
