Just got back from my first holiday in Icmerler, the CLUB AQUARIUM is a lovely place to stay, quiet and laid back. The pool is great - spent a lot of time around the pool, as sometimes its just too hot to venture out until later in the day. You can reserve sunbeds here but not before 7.30, however during our 2 week stay it seemed to get worse, people were getting up earlier and putting towels on sunbeds.. some times theres only a few left. But did manage to get one every day.
The rooms are basic, but contain everything you need. The maid service is excellent and she comes in everyday, fresh towels neatly folded on the bed each time. Very good.
The bar restuarant is good for grabbing a quick meal for lunch, but larger meals available at the Grand. The bar itself is great as you can see the pool through windows behind the bar, so the atmosphere is great. Good choice of drinks etc. The shop (or market) has a wide variety of items, however quite expensive to what you can get in town, definitly walk into town to get the bread! John who works in there is very funny!
Overall had a great time here.. everyone was really friendly although sometimes staff are persistant to get you to have your pictures taken etc. But very good quality pics if you do give in... Atmosphere is good, quite quiet but lively at times, for example when the music comes on, slide is on etc. Only 36 appartments so you get to know people quite easily. Also get to know the staff as well, they're all brill. Great stay over all.
Thanks Everyone
Iain & Sarah xxx

Me and my husband and 2 friends stayed here for 2 weeks last August. We had 2 apartments. They were a bit small but just fine for 2 people. They would have been a bit cramped for a family of 4. The rooms were spotless and were cleaned every day, we also got fresh towels on a daily basis. The views were lovely. The staff were friendly and the apartments are in a lovely peaceful location. If you want to make a meal in the apartments there's plenty of pots and utensils and we actually made breakfast on a few mornings. We were very comfortable there. I enjoyed a couple of Turkish breakfasts at the apartments 'restaurant' and my husband and friends had omlettes or bacon and eggs. We had a pizza on a couple of occasions for a quick easy lunch when we couldn't be bothered doing much more than sitting around the pool and making a lazy way over to the bar and seating area, and they were quite nice. We ate once there at night, again when we couldn't be bothered going out and didn't enjoy it at all. The Turkish night at the Grand served food, again which is quite nice, the entertainment wasn't, the girl belly dancer being extremely rude to a family who had young childen with them. The 'comedy night' at the Grand is to be avoided, it was actually embarassing. There are 2 pools at the Club and unfortunately you do have to get up early to book your sunbeds as they are usually covered with towels by 10.00am. There is a sign up saying that sun beds can't be booked before 7am, and there were a few couples who were waiting with their towels, which is really unfortunate. Having said that we actually did the same a couple of times. By mid-afternoon though a lot of people have abandoned their beds and the majority do take their towels off, so it's not a hardship to get one most days. There is a slide from the top pool to the bottom one which is on twice a day for half an hour. There's a sign up to say not to go down on lilo's, unfortunately some people do, and as there's not that much room between the bottom of the slide and the edge of the pool it's a nasty accident waiting to happen. One woman went down on a lilo with her young son and she ended up with a huge bruise on her chin for the rest of her holiday. It's a small complex and you get to know other people easily and there is a lovely chilled atmosphere. It's about a 15 minute walk into the main drag and about half an hour to the beach. You can always get taxis as they are very reasonably priced. There's lots of different restaurants and bars, all of which offer good value and great service and lovely meals. We normally got back to our apartments around midnight and the bar closes at 1am. There would usually be a couple of people sitting in the bar having a nightcap but it was never loud or rowdy, just extremely laid back. There were one or two negative things about the apartments, however the positives far outweighed them, so much so, that we are returning this August with another 2 friends.

What a fantastic holiday!
The hotel, Icmeler, and Turkey has something for everybody! Sun, adventures, shopping, great food, and fantastic people!
We had a fantastic time on our first time to turkey and won’t go anywhere else but club or grand aquarium hotels!
The rooms are more than suitable to cook your own meals and really comfortable, and every room has a fantastic view.
The pools are so clean and it’s the perfect way to refresh and relax in the Turkish heat!
All the staff make you more than welcome and are great fun!
Definitely take time to go up to the sister hotel Grande Aquarium and have a swim, a massive lunch and admire the fantastic selection of the most beautiful gold and diamonds! Hopefully you will be lucky enough to take some home.
This hotel made our holiday that little bit extra special! Thanks for a brilliant holiday. 10/10!

Just returned from yet another great week at these beautiful apartments, and looking forward to going again Sept/Oct.
You can read my previous review (juliebtaurus) from Oct /05 and just add that they now have toaster microwave and all kitchen equipment you would need (even egg cups)which are sometimes missing in other countries I’ve visited.
The maid even did our washing up in the mornings bless her and my pyjamas always neatly folded on the pillow. The staff cannot do enough for you.
We ate at the restaurant a few times and food very good a little more expensive than in resort but still good value, snacks very reasonable for lunchtimes.
The wristband system is a great idea although I have been sceptical in the past about this idea of having a big bill at the end of your holiday, but you are in full control of your spending this way, you can put credit on your band (as much or little as you want )on a daily basis if you wish and you get a receipt and balance after every transaction so you can top up or if you’ve spent your daily limit ,stop spending.
If you have any balance left on at the end of your holiday it is fully refunded.
You can use the band to buy food drinks etc at the pool and even in the market shop on the premises for milk bread, groceries etc. You never need to take money around pool and the band is waterproof for swimming in(great idea).
The restaurants I can recommend are the pyramid, titanic, lighthouse, set,l ove boat all on the main strip. Titanic and pyramid do lovely lamb/beef Turkish casserole in the crock from the oven, and do try the special starter at the lighthouse it sounds awful but it's absolutely beautiful (charcoal liver, potato wedges, with salad and raspberry sauce)honestly it's lovely, my favourite.
Have a great time hope these comments have been helpful.

This was our first time to Turkey, and it was brilliant. The people at Club Aquarium were really nice and friendly and they’re great with kids.
The apartment was cleaned every day, the towels and sheets were changed every day and the pots were even washed.
There are 2 great swimming pools and a slide that opens for about half an hour twice a day.
We shall definitely be going back again soon.

What a brilliant holiday, though a week was not long enough, so we are booking again to go back in the next six weeks.
Very beautiful and quiet. The staff are all so friendly. We are keeping in touch via the internet. Thank you direct holidays for our best holiday ever!
Icmeler town has the best restaurants, very nice. The Turkish baths are not to be missed either. Great food, beautiful weather, very quiet, who could ask for more.

Hey everybody, I would say that the Club Aquarium was the best holiday ever, (and I have been to America and Portugal and stuff.) The staff were extremely friendly we are like best friends still and keep in touch via the internet, we are still very close. Me and my cousin seen as we are very young we thought it was brilliant hanging out with the boys by the bar we had a great laugh and they always cheered us up, Deniz, Selcuk, Tom, Mesut & Yunus you are just great the holiday wouldn't of been the same without you lot!
The Rooms had everything you needed all the kitchen equipment and stuff, it was always very clean and our maid did a fab job every single day! The beds in the living room what me and my cousin used to sleep on were very comfy and it was lovely snuggling up in the covers at night. The bar was great and it was good that it had a time to turn the music down a little. I used to dance at the bar all night long and it was called "My" show it was great fun. It was heaven there. Having endless fun on that water slide.
I learnt how to swim underwater too! If someone said to me quick pack your bag you need to have it packed in 15minutes I would run upstairs and pack my bags because that was the best holiday ever and I look forward to meeting all the bar staff again I love you guys loads and loads he he! I also went to the grand aquarium for the Turkish night it was ace! I got up to dance with the belly dancer it was so funny I had to balance a sparkly stick on my head all my mum and dad laughed at me when it fell off ha ha!
I hope you take my advice and go to this hotel because it is the best and it is so peaceful and has a lovely view and you feel sheltered in the mountains coming back next May because I miss all the bar staff too much and its lovely hot weather ha ha!
Love from me, I love you club aquarium.

We stayed in club aquarium the very last week in October and had a great time we are going back again in June this year. I couldn't believe the weather it was fantastic and we were still lying on the beach at this time of year .Its a great time to go as they are closing for the season and can grab even greater bargains.
The people are really friendly and remember you even when you’ve met them once they do like you to try their bars and restaurants and try to get you in but a polite no, and they leave you alone, unlike some other tourist resorts.
The night can be cool (a cardigan or light jacket )but we were still comfortable to eat out (mind we are tough being from the north east). The apartments are spotless and towels etc changed every day and folded into allsorts of wonderful shapes i.e. hearts, swans fans etc. Remember the apartment in Turkey are a bit like Greece and a bit more basic than spain etc. but we had everything we needed including a hairdryer, fridge ,cooking rings, kettle, and air conditioning which was included (bonus) could maybe have had a T.V (and I am quite hard to please).
Icmeler itself is paradise the views from our apartment was stunning they are on a slight incline but only the last block it is relatively flat after that and a 5-10 min stroll to shops, beach and bars etc very quiet residential area so you get your sleep but easy to reach lively or quiet bars. Looking forward to going again in June this year.

I went with my friend and her family to Turkey. I was slightly worried about going because I had heard that turkey was a dirty place and I'm quite picky with my food too.
However it was the best holiday I've had; the hotel was brilliant there was such a great atmosphere. You get to know everybody and have a really good time. The two pools and slide provided me with endless fun and the weather was beautiful.
Also I was surprised how tasty the food was and the nightlife was brilliant. One problem however was the 12 o'clock curfew and the music needed it a good update.
The staff were all really friendly and made you feel quite at home. The entertainer at the Club Aquarium kept us entertained with various games such as water polo in the pool. I would recommend having a Turkish Bath! If your feeling daring try the banana boat out!

Me and my family enjoyed our time at Club Aquarium a great deal, despite the fact my daughter broke her arm and we had money stolen from our room, although a safe was provided.
The staff were extremely friendly, and I met some very good friends there. When staying in another hotel in Icmeler in 2005, Farthi from Club Aquarium was walking along the street and came to greet us, I was shocked he could remember us.
As my daughter broke her arm and couldn’t swim or do much, a very friendly member of staff took my two daughters two the hotels sister hotel Grand Aquarium, were they got their hair braided and had a good time. On top of all that, we got an invitation to a Turkish night at the sister hotel, which the mayor himself was at, at the table behind us in fact! We couldn’t have asked for more friendliness.
The pools were brilliant and clean, only a short walk, train or dolmus ride to the town centre. The small shop was good, with a friendly clerk called Gulcan x x. The watch system was fine and not at all an inconvenience.
However, a member of staff did steal money from our room. But, the management talked to us about it, give us back the money which had been stolen and invited us out for a meal with him, and the cleaner was dealt with immediately.
Icmeler really is heaven on Earth and it is like a second home to me, I love it. x x x
