I went on holiday with my family and would never return.
Staff rude and not helpful. spate of stealing. hotel dirty and very dated. food bland, cold and not very varied (chips every day) coffee only available in restaurants with breakfast, not any other meal, when it says breakfast finishes at 10:30 it means it, they turn off light and machines and remove food even if you are still in there eating. snack are leftovers from meal times (so more chips), 2 drink policy that can only be laughed at, only ever 2 bars open at any 1 time, none open in the night, child ill for last 3 days, beach is small and expensive, food not cooked well, i could go on but there was 2 good things, the pool was clean and fairly well maintained and the view was very good. avoid this place.

We booked this break as a last minute one via the internet, we've never tried the all inclusive holiday before, Just fancied a stress free holiday to lay by the pool and read a few books. Must admit to being pleasantly surprised, transfer to - from airport is more like 1 30 minutes rather than the 50 mins mentioned. when we arrived at the complex although the décor was rather 1970's all 3 hotels were clean / tidy. We stayed in the Sol Balmoral which, although not having the sea views was perfectly adequate. Our room was basic , but kept very clean by the maid service, we found the hotel staff to be very helpful. It was my wife's birthday during the holiday, and to our surprise we received a bottle of bubbly in our room when we returned from a day out which was a very nice gesture from the hotel.
The food was very good, especially the salads and local fish dishes. We didn't have room to snack during the day but apparently this is provided also. Activities are going on throughout the day such as archery water polo and rife shooting ( just little taster sessions ) by the entertainment staff who were brilliant! especially Kenneth and Miguel. Overall we had a very relaxing break for the money we spent and would try an all inclusive again.

Just got back from hotel sol calas de majorca the weather was fab! The breakfast were the best part to the meals as we were all inclusive. If your a fussy eater then they wont be alot for you but its not that bad it is edible and they will always be something like pizza and chips. The first view of the hotel in reception is very old fashioned, but staff are very friendly and the hotel and its surroundings are very clean. The rooms were nice and bright and the maid came every day and changed the towels and sheets. Its only a 10minute walk down to the little cove beach, but the area of calas de majorca is very quiet and if you were self catering they wouldnt be alot of places to choose from. The pools were freezing but if people dont mind that its ok. The pool was very clean, cleaned daily also you need to get up early to put your towels out to get a sunbed in a decent place! They are alot of sunbeds but its finding the place to put them. The entertainment was ok, bingo got abit boring every night. Overall i would receommend this hotel as it is a geniune friendly spanish hotel which is very clean and welcoming. :)

Stayed at this hotel between 3 - 10 June 2011 on an all inclusive basis. Weather was not great and food was really repetitive.
Good points - Hotel clean, nice surroundings and views, many activities to do during the day, it was my partners 30th birthday and a complimentary bottle of champagne was left in our room which was lovely. Swimming pools very clean and although cold - very nice.
Also our thomas cook representative both on the transfer and in the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
Bad points - Although rated a 3* the hotel needs decorating its old fashioned and the rooms are very basic.
ENTERTAINMENT - brilliant! Watch out for a group called the Splendors - they were on the first night we arrived and we absolutely loved them.

There were 4 of us that went on holiday here for half term last October. The greeting was very friendly which was important as my son-in-law had never been on a oliday of this sort before. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. When it came to mealtimes we were all very impressed with the choices given to us. We all found that there was something for each of us every meal. The service was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and by the end of the holiday they felt like friends.

We have came back from the sol chuihuahuas hotel two days ago and when i was leaving i felt like crying. The hotel was amazing and i couldent have asked for more. Maybey it wasent a 5 star hotel with flat screen t.v's but who needs this stuff for their holiday.. we went for 7 days and that was not enough !! i could have stayed there forever .
We arrived at the hotel late at night and we checked into our rooms .
The first thing we did was run to the balcony and check out the view. All 6 of our rooms had a view of the see and the swimming pool.
The rooms were clean and were tided up every day .
The sun woke me up early the next day and we went for breckfast. There was a great selection of food which was all delicious .
They also had a great selection of cake and fruit .
We went on holiday in may and the swimming pools were freezing cold but it was worth it to get in because it was boiling hot outside of it .
The beach was quite close to the hotel and you could see it from your balcony but it was really tiring to get there in the wormth .
The hotel wouldent be the same without the entertainers which were amazing and who have great contact with the guestes of the hotel .
My personal favourites were Bavo , Kenneth and Izra .
My family made friends with them the first day we came and they were really fun to be with :)
during the day there are many activities you can join in with .
the entertainers are enjoing their jobs and make the most out of them.
I got pushed into the swimming pool by Kenneth so watch out :)
The nights are also amazing .
at 8.30 there is a mini disco for the kids so the kids can come onto the stage and dance along to the song while 1 or 2 of the entertainers dressed in a flinstones costume will show you the moves .
At aroung 9 they play bingo which is suprisenly fun :) you can win a champane ...
they also have an night activity wchich changes everyday . we saw 6 and they were : 1 - a quiz about songs and movies. if you get the most questions wright you win a champane . 2- cabaret show. it started off really boring as a girl was mouthing a song and 4 entertainers were dancing to it . but it all changed in the next acts which im only going to mention 2 . in the 2nd 1 , one of the entertainers ( bavo ) came onto the stage in his boxers and was getting dressed while dancing . and the last 1 was when the 4 entertainers ( all guys ) came on the stage in costumes and out of nowhere they started stripping !! they were wearing thongs !! 3- robbie williams

Just returned from Sol Chihuashuas A.I. Both my Wife & I had a great time.Staff were all very pleasant and helpful,Food was wide ranged and varied,Room was clean & tidy, always plenty entertainment. We met four other lovely couples who had similar experiences and to top it all off on my Birthday we heard a chap at the door only to find a member of staff with a large bowl of fruit and bottle of champagne wishing me a happy birthday. A lot of other Hotels could look here for a good example how to treat guests. Finally for all the whingeing types, if you want 5 star pay for it, This is a good example of what a 3 star hotel should be.

We visited this hotel last Aug 2010 family of 4 two Adults to boys aged 5 & 7 if you want 5* you pay for 5* thats it basically? Their is lots of activities for the children throughout the day so parents can get a break if they need to. The boys met lots of friends on the holiday. The entertainers do their best in the day & evenings getting the parents and children involved on stage as i found out once or twice. The food was more like 4 star compared to other hotels i have stayed in previous years in Majorca i couldnt fault the food at all their was lots of fresh choices fo meats salads drinks everything you could thing of eating was their. Lots of fruit which was good as my boys love fruit, cakes if like.
The Hotel could do with a face lift but that didnt bother me otherwise i would of gone 4* plus.We planned a budget holiday last year 2010 and plan the same this year 201l which we will be going back in Aug 2011.
Their is a cliff walk at the front of this hotel that goes for miles with lovely beaches in both directions 1 beach 10 minutes max walk. So most mornings we walked out, fantastic views of Majorca sea front. The rooms were cleaned all the time and hotel was clean that was the main thing where food was being served very clean.
Drinks where great for all inclusive 12.00 bar midnight campso lager which is about 4% not the usual cheap larger you have to put lemonade in to make drinkable. and if you like shorts these where good quality.
Their is wasp around the hotel at times but this didnt stop us having a great time as they didnt bother us.
it was made worse when people leave lots of half empty drinks on tables etc.
Night time their is enough Bars outside as we like to get out even though we were all inclusive for the break from the hotel. So if you like some footie in the day or night plenty of bars showing. Beers not so cheap but i think we all know that before traveling to Spain etc.
All in all great holiday met lots of great people, if you plan to travel outside the hotel it maybe better hiring a car for your holiday, airport or hire from local area as hotel is located quite away from places.
My view try it if you have children they get entertained

After having stayed in Sol Balmoral once or twice a year for the last 5 years, myself and my family expected the usual relaxing holiday. Instead, we arrived to surly, ignorant sarcastic staf, and then found out our requested Balmoral hotel closed after a fire, and so half of us were put into a mediocre room in Mastines, as myself and my sister, and her 5 year old twins were sent to what can only be descirbed as a dark filthy hole apartment across form the main area, in the deserted area of the balmoral. As soon as we ventured through the desolate 'pathyway'we had to watch out step as a few metres away, a 2 metre empty swimming pool infront of our 'housing' had mere red tape taped around the old umberellas, basically a death trap for young children or the elderly. The problems in out shabby room began as the toilet flooded on a daily basis, where the advice a unprofessionl hotel plumber gave us was to use our towels to soak up the waste that was overflowing. Bathing our children was a scary expierience, has the tiles above leaked and moved as rusty, brown water leaked from above. And the children were terrified as a family of cockroaches had decided to move in with us.
Absolutely awful, but we carried on and tried to bear with it. But unfortunately, things turned from bad to a completely ruined holiday. Our room was BROKEN INTO, our safe had been wrecked, all money, phones, ipods, and the childrens games stolen, even perfume clothes had been chucked around and stolen. Imediately, we attempted to contact reception and after a long wait, a arrgoant 'security' guard who laughed at us as he muttered away to the manageress on duty told us to shut up, stop crying and that it was our own fault for bringing these things on holiday. That is not what you need to hear after a robbery, and then they would not contact the police and even hesitated to give us the police number. After the rest of our family, living in the actual main hotel tried to support us by talking to the staff, my elderly grandmother was told to shut up or else she would be arrested.
I have my suspicions, because a maid knocked on our door about half an hour before we discovered what was missing, and asked us if everything was okay as she kept looking past me into the room. I didnt think anything of this at the time, but when I pointed her out at to the manager, I was told I was lying and that I cant talk to staff and that she wasnt working there that day, when obviously she was.
Eventually we got through to the police in MADRID, who basically told us it was up to us and the auhtorites back in Britain to deal with this. The top, main manager of the area shrugged his shoulders repeatedly as he said he was not concerned about our 'insignificant robbery in his own words, as he already has plenty of tourists.
Our rep was no where to be found, and when we tried to sought the advice from the THOMAS COOK rep, EMMA CHAPMAN, i was laughed at, told to stop terrorising other guests and to stop making things up about robberies. We later found out 14 OTHER ROOMS had also been broken into during that week. This seems to happen every couple of weeks as we talked to others in the hotel who had also had jewellery and electronic devices and money stolen. It was awful being robbed, but as we tried to move on, the rude staff seemed to either laugh at us or draw filthy looks. Which basically leads me to believe that the miserable staff in this hotel were all in on it, and knew exactly what was going on. This cursed hotel is a dump, with unprofessional staff who definitely have something against BRITISH people.

my husband, father and myself went to this hotel in october 2010,, we have been to quite a few hotels in different countries, this holiday is by far the best we have been on. the resort was excellent with some very beautiful scenery. the food was excellent, we were supposed 2 have acces to 3 hotels, 2 were shut which wasnt a problem as we had very good entertainment in the hotel. the staff were very hardworking and friendly. having to queue for drinks was a bit of a problem as my dad is disabled in both hands so i had to go for him. but i didnt mind. our room was beautiful overlooking the sea.. my dad asked for extra pillows they wer there for him as soon as he got to his room, our room were spotless, cleaned everyday and clean bedding and towels everyday. we are definately going back in march xx
