We have just come back from a very nice holiday at the Samoa we spent 10 days there, the Hotel was very clean, staff brilliant, food good despite some of the reviews there was always plenty to eat, fresh vegetables eg. broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, peas, sweetcorn, lots of fresh fruit, fresh grilled meats & fish, pasta, salads & desserts, if anyone could'nt find anything to eat then they are extremely fussy! We even got a goodie bag for breakfast as we were picked up early morning. The only thing we found tedious was the transfers, two hours & forty minutes to get there, two hours on the return journey!had we known we may have taken alternative transport. The beach was only 3 minutes away,& a lovely walk along the clifftop, shops & bars etc oppisite the hotel, entertainment every night & the animation team deserve a medal too. We were not unhappy with our holiday at all.

we stayed at the hotel a few weeks ago i have to say it was poor we have stayed at poor hotels in the past and this is one of them the rooms where okay but in the bathroom is a small white hatch and this opens to a drop with pipes inside and the room next door can open there hatch and you can see the other room in there bathroom
i did feel for the man who fixs the slot machines all the children where taking money of him and he did not know
my son meet a holiday love but never found out her name so it is good for teenagers but the shows at night a basic sex shows with rude dances and on the first night they made all the children get wet in the pool not good for saving cloths

Stayed at Hotel Samoa early July 2011. 8 of us with ages ranging from 16 to 56.
The hotel was lovely, the staff very friendly and hardworking. We enjoyed the food most days but found that the teenagers with us were not quite as impressed - too fussy! The rooms very nice but basic which is exactly as we expected as we haden't paid for top class luxury. The rooms were cleaned every day and clean towels provided.
The beach was a few minutes walk if you use the gate leading from the side of the pool to the rear gateway.
I agree with the reviews which say there is nothing much in the local area - there isn't, but the bus stop is right outside the hotel and the buses run frequently, with timetables clearly displayed at the bus stops or available at the hotel recep.
There are shops and bars just across the road from the hotel but they are the usual shops selling flip-flops, sandals and lilo's.
I really can't say many negative things about the hotel, except they don't have wi-fi, although they do have 3 computers for internet access. The teenagers were very dissapointed that there was no wi-fi as there was not enough for them to do. Oh! I agree with the comments about the entertainment, it is rubbish - we didn't listen to it - played cards round the poolside instead.
We found it a bit strange that by about 12:05am they turned ALL the lights off to the pool area, so anyone sitting outside at that time had to walk in the darkness to the hotel doorways. It was not that bad you just had to be aware of the lights going out.
The air conditioning and TV remote controls are available from reception are available from reception with adeposit of 10 euros which is refunded at the end of the holiday.

All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Samoa and would go again to the hotel sometime in the future but definately not with moaning teenagers.

We were there for two weeks and sadly we will not be goin back. The hotel could do with being updated, and also no wi-fi there incase you would need it, which we did in our circumstances. Food was the same more or less every day, when they did have chicken or something a bit different you had to que and your food would get cold. The staff was not that helpful or friendly at all like the reviews make out,we think due to being busy and over worked they also seemed short staffed. The best was the kids club and the entertainers, but with our daughter being poorly while we were there we missed out on quite a bit, what we did see was fun.The rooms are very small for 2adults and 2 children and no wardrope space so we had to leave half our clothes in the suitcases. There was ants in our room and balcony. The walls were very thin and you could see into next doors bathroom through a door in the wall we thought was very strange and not at all secure. None of the maids spoke english which was hard work.Same with the catering staff, and some very miserable!!! apart from one waiter there, he was nice. The location is very nice we have to say, 5 minutes away from the beach. It definately is a 3 star we have been in 4 star in spain and there was no comparisent. But if you want a cheap basic get away, with the kids with hot weather then it will suit you down to the ground. We arrived and went back by taxi which was excellent and they were spot on for times. We would reccommend this! it's a bit more pricey but being a cheapy holiday it cuts out all the transfers and you get to and from airport within 40 minutes. 67 euro's is what they charge each way and after the holiday we had it was worth it and glad to get home!p.s. make sure your child has had chickenpox before you fly because insurance companys only pay for one adult and one child while you are on holiday!!!!Nightmare and very very costly!!!!

I stayed for 2 weeks all inclusive at the Hotel Samoa in June 2011. Like everyone i was a little worried about the bad reviews i had read, but i can honestly say that they are rubbish! people obviously have nothing better to moan about.
The staff work really really hard, and are more than happy to help.
The rooms were cleaned every day, including fresh towels and bedding.
The entertainment was great, from tribute acts to parrot shows, the kids loved it!
The kids club was fantastic, and the park is in the shade, which was great when midday came around.
There was plenty of food throughout the day, and also the snack bar if you wanted something different.
The bar staff were lovely, and there were no queue's like previously mentioned.
The pool was cleaned every night, and there were enough sunloungers for people in the day.
The daily activities were fantastic, there is something for everyone.
All the things that people had previously moaned about have now obviously been sorted!!
The only thing i can say negative about it was the transfer time, it was around 2 hours by the time everyone had been dropped off. (not the hotels fault).
We had a look around the Eurocalas (sister hotel) while we were there and it looked very basic indeed, so i was pleased that we weren't moved.
Overall a hidden gem, more of a 4 star than a 3 and i would definately return.

The Hotel is lovely and clean, the food is repetitive but there is soooo much to choose from, pool side cafe is open from 10-6 so if you miss meal times theres no worries. If you decide to go on an outing tell the staff the night before and they'll do you a packed lunch. Freshly made pancakes with nutella for the kids, as much bacon, cheese etc as you like, go back for seconds if you wish, evening meal cream cakes galore, fresh fruit etc. Proper pig out holiday. Free flowing alcohol all day if you want it, Small Mallorca style complex opposite with tobacconist, car hire, chemist etc ( watch out for spanish opening times) bus stop right outside door and Caves of Drach 1st stop, easy access to Cala Millor etc all very reasonably priced. Beach is down steps at back of hotel, (you need key card to get back in) and probably a realistic ten min stroll down to gorgeous little bay with fantastic waves for inflatables quite safe and lifeguard on hand. Room was everything you needed it to be, just typically spanish basic. Bathroom clean and sufficient. Entertainment is there and plenty to get involved in if you want to. Plenty of internet access available. If you do decide to choose hotel Samoa be aware of personal hygiene as in an enviroment of so many people, childrens hands, SOME people's not existant toilet hygiene etc my son did get a tummy bug- please note this was not due to dirty hotel, I should of been more aware as he was 8yrs old and going around touching all surfaces. Overall we had a fantastic time and would return tomorrow.

Went to the Hotel Samoa last July with my other half and our two girls. The Hotel food and accommodation were very similar to all the other Spanish all inclusive holidays we've had before, buffet style restaurant, quite a bit of fish and pretty good variety. Room was a good size but with a very small bathroom (you can't have it all for the price!). The only downside was no light in the balcony which was a pain as having small children you tend to come back early a couple of nights and sit on your balcony but just a little problem. We were in a little annexe you had to go down a corridor to the main hotel so don't know if the room would be exactly the same in the main hotel. Was great though coz no lifts or noise! The pool was adequate rather than large - fine for kids. Did get a bit crowded but nothing too bad and there is a permanent lifeguard which is fab. The best thing about the botel was the little kids club (good for little ones rather than older kids) and the entertainment girls who got the kids involved in the day and got them up dancing day and night on the little stage. Again this is on the small side but didn't bother kids. The location is perfect. To the back of the hotel you have a two minute walk to the beach. Nice sand, sea a bit choppy but quite shallow so great for lilos! Directly opposite the hotel is good range of the usual shops and restaurants. If you walk down a bit you come to a little park with little rides, go-karts and trampolines. Great for the kids too. Overall I would say very family friendly holiday, value for money. We saw no rowdy people at all. Can't comment on shows etc as we tended to walk into the town after the mini disco. We booked through On the Beach -very reasonable price, Travel Republic worth checking price too.

May 2011, jackies

I Have just returned after spending a week at Samoa hotel.worst relaxing holiday i have ever had,
i asked tour agent for sunny balcony got the balcony but huge fully grown palm tree over shadowed the sun
my room was small (but i was single traveller)the bathroom sink had huge cracks init was scared to use it incase it fell to bits,my sheets were not changed in the week and i had to ask for fresh towels mid-week.
early risers could not get a cup of tea until 8am, i enjoyed breakfast the rest was just ok,(thank god for salad and melon).
all drinks are served in plastic cups .... you try taking a hot drink from bar to terrace area with children running around one bump and they would have been scoulded plus yourself,
my room was above the bar and terrace, the bar closed at 12.. all quiet until about 1ish them slamming doors, shouting, this went on until 4is in the morn.
the staff were not intrested in you wellbeing.

The Hotel itself has friendly staff, however the food is completely rubbish with no effort, just what is cheapest. The pool side is very dangerous, with no hand rails and very slippery stone flooring.
We had no sleep throughout the weeks holiday, due to Adults not children screaming and shouting on one occasion the police were called.
If you want a hotel which really is suited to an 18-30 age group then this is the hotel for you...
There is a small group of shops just over the road from the hotel, but be warned there is nothing else around for miles. It is also approx 2hrs 40 mins transfer time depending who your transfer company are.
Please make your own opinion, but just choose your holiday location wisely, as we saved up for a year for this trip and due to lack of health and safety a member of our party slipped and although had medical insurance still had to pay £300, the hotel staff were useless and had very limited first aid knowledge.

just booked again for the somoa this will be the 3rd time for us. The first year was just me my partner and 2 children. Last year was me and the family 16 of us went which ranged from adults children 13 years down to 6 months old. we had a great time once again only thing was we went the second week it was open in may and the entertainment was not at its full swing but apart from that its clean good food and its not in a busy area with lots of young adults out in groups. I well recommend it for families. You are very close to the shops bus stops and a short walk with access by swipe card back into the hotel. kids club was great the staff were really nice and friendly plenty to do on the complex and off. we go at the end of june for 11 nights this year and there are 3 families of us going again we have now made it our get together holiday as we live miles from each other. so please dont read the negative comments find out for yourself everyone has there own opinion and all expect different thing but for value for money its a great hotel. hope this helps enjoy your stay.x

Stayed here for 10 nights 2nd - 12 Oct. rooms ok food what you would expect from 3 star hotel, slight problem with lurch in the restaurant as if you sat his side he would reserve tables for his favourite people which meant you could'nt get a table for six!. We were in a group of 6 and would ofen end up moving to other side of restaurant for a table! Receptionists and bar staff very friendly. Kids loved it took two 8 yr olds and a 10 yr old didnt see much of them as plenty of activities for them. Our one gripe would be that as only 1 bar open meant a large queue for drinks most evenings.
