ok, so i read some not so good reviews about this hotel and i cant say they were wrong, i booked a weeks stay at this hotel, total price for holiday came to £512 for 2 adults and 1 child AI. On arrival there were two other people waiting to check in, the first of which was been given that dreaded line which i had read so many times online, we have had a flood and you do not have a room, you can stay in our sister hotel, me been four months pregnant and a three yr old that was bursting for the loo was not having any of it, you have to stand your ground with these people, the only reason the people one in front of us had a room was bacause they had stayed there four years in a row, as soon as it was our turn i told them i was not going to take there lines of not having a room and to get me my room key, to which i got one! ADVICE DO NOT TAKE A ROOM ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR, i saw what happened to the bottom floor after a storm, wiped out is some where along the right lines, the rooms are basic but have everyt thing you need to get buy, we need not use the air con the rooms are cool enough. The food was not impressive at all, the puddings were the best thing, there was ALOT of pork, chicken nuggets, carrots and sprouts for breakfast and everything was dowsed in oil.we ened up going to burger king bcecause we were sick of the same awful food. the life gaurd is an nightmare, she wont talk to you in english and wont even let the kids have little lilo's, The animation team are fantasic though working every hour to keep you happy, even when we had a storm they were getting the kids to play hide and seek, ping pong etc, the rooms were not cleaned every day as stated and towels and sheets only changed once during our stay, i had to strip our beds and demand clean sheets from the maids, the walls are thin and you can hear every thing thats happening out side your room and on the corridors, the bar was always busy and you only get drinks in little plastic cups, they did have slush puppies for the kids though, the snack bar was rubbish and we only went there once, it was warm salad and burgers, not good, BEWARE there is some kind of hive right near the bar, a big one at that and ALOT of wasps were always around after your drinks, the balconys were also not to safe, quite loose which meant our son could not go out on the blacony for his saftey, we asked for a packed lunch for our bus ride to the airport which is about 2 hours after you have picked every one up, samoa been once of the last, in our packed lunch we got four slices of bread, warm cheese, spam, two apples a banna and some pate and three bottles of water, needless to say we didnt touch it...you need to get to the sunbeds early if you want one, i didnt think it would be to bust considering the time of year but it was heaving, all in all it was a below average hotel i wouldnt go back there, the best thing about this hotel is the entertainment staff who work so hard and have lots for the kids to do, i would not recommend going to this hotel.

After visiting many resorts on the island of Mallorca, our hopes of a nice holiday were completely gone as soon as we arrived within the resort. Rundown and shabby would describe it well. Many business closed due to the recession - it was a dump!
If your happy listening to the Karaoke Bar running until 5.00am, loud individuals falling out of Tiffanys nightclub or the Irish Pub then this is the place for you!
The hotel, well what can i say, built in the 70's and never modernised since. Arrival 12 noon, rooms available from 12! - we never had a room they had lost our booking! Once they found us a room at 3pm - it was dirty and smelt damp and musty. Celephaine rapped allegedly clean glasses in the bathroom still contained sand and had a rim of lipstick on them! The bathroom was full of body hair - not our own! Upgraded on our booking to a family room - received 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels for a family of 3!
1 Reception Staff Member in particular (female) was really rude, lazy and had absolutely no intention of helping with any enquiries! Remainder staff, friendly and helpful!
Meals - well what can in say if your happy having pork every day then your in heaven! Lunches - if you you fancy a packed lunch - beware! The unhelpful dragon on reception will require proof of excursion with ticket receipts. Don't inform her you plan to visit the beach as she will not accept this to receive a pack lunch as part of your all inclusive stay! Unlike all other hotels within the vicinity!
Animation team - really made an effort 24 7 with all guests, nice young bunch, although not our cup of tea.
Beaches were nice, but all bars shut due to recession and surrounding hotels being all inclusive, no toilets on the beaches.
- Advice: Possibly visit for a day to go to the beaches which were lovely!

After reading all of the terrible reviews on this hotel I felt I had to share with future holiday makers my own opinion.
Firstly the Samoa offered excellent accommodation that was not only comfortable but extremely clean! The domestic staff work really hard and service the rooms on a daily basis leaving plenty of clean towels and bedding. The rooms are not vast but are easily big enough to accommodate at least 4 adults.
The pool is lovely and has a large shallow end for children and adults, the life guard is very strict but also vigilant. The entertainment team offer good quality daily activities in and around the pool through out the day ranging from, Water polo, aqua aerobics and diving lessons.
The restaurant offers a huge variety of food all of which is lovely, especially the puddings!
The nightly entertainment is really good fun and our kids thouroughly enjoyed it. I can honestly say that we had a fab time and would def go back again, the staff here are 1st class and nothing is too much trouble, so if you read all the awful things that people write on here, take it with a pinch of salt, HOTASA SAMOA, is with out doubt a beautiful hotel and offers a fantastic family holiday!!!

We stayed here for a week 20/8-27/8, and after reading some reviews on several websites, was dreading being sent off to another hotel, but was lucky enough to get in here. The room although quite basic was clean and tidy, quite small for a family of 4 but enough room for us all to get ready in and sleep in. TOP TIP - Don't pay for the aircon. I read some reviews before coming here and one was a great cost saving, as some people are being charged 10 Euros a night for aircon. If you are staying here in the future, please don't pay for it, just take the front panel off and press the 'manual' button, it comes on low and is plenty cool enough, we had 35 degree heat and it was cool enough for us.
The entertainment in this hotel is great, you can get involved if you want but if you want to lay back and take it easy you can just enjoy watching everyone else! There is a full activity programme on day and night, and although the entertainment is limited, the team work so hard, and put on some good shows.
The food was OK, plenty of choice, but some of the meat left a bit to be desired, one night we were most excited to see chicken on the menu but on closer inspection it was NOT chicken, more like cat! There was plenty of salad choice tho, always different soups, puddings, plenty of fresh bread at all meals and if that wasn't enough a snack bar open 10-6. The bar was by far the best part of this hotel, between 10-12 midnight, you could get any of the following: soft drinks, iced tea, water, beer, spirits, cocktails, coffee, tea,hot chocolate, slushies (particularly good in hot weather) ice pops and ice cream!!! Drinks with meals were also good, beer/wine/soft drinks/water and juice were all available.
The staff were very friendly, and if you made the effort to either speak spanish or to talk they always remembered drinks (I expect if you went back often enough!!!).
The resort is small and there isn't much to do for older kids/teenagers, though for younger kids its fab, plenty of mini go-kart and trampoline type of things.
The beaches (there were 3 of them) were small but lovely, the nicest being Cala Domingos Gran, which is overlooked from the Samoa, beautiful clear sea and between this beach and the next door beach, there is a fantastic little cave where you can walk in right under the rocks. Another beach we visited was Cala Antena, at the other end of the resort, but although the beach was quiet, the sea was full of rubbish, having snorkeled here I didn't want to go back in the sea!!!
All in all, we had a great stay, the hotel we couldn't fault really and for what we paid, thought it was great value for money, if it was in another resort would go again in a heartbeat!!
- Advice: Quiet resort, great for families with small children
- Activities: Short bus ride to Caves of Drach, amazing!!

Me and my boyfriend were both looking for a nice quiet holiday but after reading some reviews i was totally dreading it as we are both 23years old and thought maybe it would be a bit too quiet but we were totally taken by surprise and had a great time! The hotel reception was lovely, fare enough the rooms were basic but clean. The bars and pool area were great; the food was ok but as anyone can expect with an all inclusive holiday you are bound to get fed up with the food but there is something for everyone. The only downfall i would comment on was the entertainment as it was mainly aimed for kids but for any young couples ther are a few bars and clubs right across the road from the hotel which is great. I would definetly recommend the samoa hotel to couples and also to families as this is such a great place for kids and i would go back in the future. Another great thing about this holiday was the beautiful beaches and the transport is so easy if you want to go into palma; cala'dor etc.

We booked our holiday through Travel Republic, and we arrived at Hotel Samoa on Monday 3rd august. We were very happy when the coach pulled up outside as there were plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around the hotel. After a VERY long journey we got told at check in that they had no room for us, adn placed us in a sister hotel namily the Canaries- we were very dissappointed with the 2nd hotel, to the point where me and my 8 year old son started to cry. I went back to the reception at Samoa 3 times, and eventually got a room the following day at the Samoa. From that point on the holiday was brilliant. Our room was fabulous, great air con, so much fro my 8 year old son to do- Thankyou to George for looking after him!! Food was fine, plenty of choice, and the drink was of course on tap-bit dangerous with the very large vodkas!!! Overall Hotel Samoa ticked every box, for a fantastic holiday for me,my partner and my 8 year old son.

I booked a late deal - 1 week before going in July. (i'm giving a generous 5/10 here.)
Family 4, AI, £1000, 7 nights.
if you want to see what hotels in the 1970's looked like- go here.
We had no aircon. Only the rooms that are beneath the pool and entertainment area have aircon.
The room that we had, was terrible. Room number 205. The problem was that the room is directly above the boiler room for the whole hotel. It was like being in the engine room of a ship!.
You couldn't even stand on the floor in places in the room, as it was so hot.
I complained on my first day, the recepionist acknowledged that the pipes went under my room... what an understatement.
She gave me a fan, that anyone else had to hire, not that it did anything. In order to sleep at night, I pushed our bed and the kids bunk bed right upto the balcony.
FOOD - basic, boring, sloppy, wouldn't give most to an ugly dog.Sprouts and Fish for Breakfast. All fish is boney as hell. Any meat is just bones with bits of meat on. Coffee is awful.
Entertainment- team that repeat every single sentence in Spanish, French, German, English, Italian , Flemish. it gets annoying. and is pointless. On one night in one of there games, they identified that 7 guests were French, everyone else was British. Yet they still continued repeating all in every language going.
The entertainment is 95% done by inhouse team and is shocking. a comedy night- lost on me.
Snow White night- miming to songs from the film-why? Same again on a Grease night. Chronic.
There is a conrete crazy golf course. A sandy football court. A tennis court. Equipment to hire for deposit.
The only plus point is that the beach is so close.
we went out a few nights, nowt else about, a few karaoke bars. Shops selling crap.
There isn't anywhere to go for a walk and you will get bored.

We researched hard for this holiday and booked the Hotel Samoa based on it's facilities, location etc. We did notice that people had had bad experiences with being sent elsewhere on arrival, but thought we would take our chances. That was a mistake. On arrival with 2 tired children at 9:00pm we were informed that there had been a 'flood' and that there was no room available for us. We were informed that we would be placed in their sister hotel 'only 5 minutes walk away', and that we were still allowed to use all the facilites at The Samoa. How generous. We expressed our disatisfaction and asked to meet with the manager who was unavailable until morning. When we arrived at the alternative hotel 'Chihuahau' (in a taxi arranged by the Samoa, which happened to be waiting outside for us), it was apparant from the outset that it was not quite as 'grand' as The Samoa. There were several irate people in the foyer who found themselves in the same position as us. Our room had no air conditioning and because of the heat (on the outside and inside - I was absolutely raging and felt completely helpless) not much sleep was to be had. What an utterly miserable start to a 7 day holiday.
The next morning, we made the '5 minute walk' (more like 20 minutes in the heat with 2 kids that are just desperate to get to the beach), back to Samoa. On arrival I was informed that the manager was not available for another hour. Whilst waiting I observed 2 families being booked in, excitedly arriving for their holidays and being given the keys to their rooms. Interesting. I also heard the reception staff calling another room to remind them of their departure time that morning. When I pointed out that clearly rooms were now available I was told that there were further guests due to arrive that day that would be using those rooms! Through gritted teeth, I reminded them that MY FAMILY HAD ACTUALLY ARRIVED THE DAY BEFORE, and that, surely, that entitled me to the room that I had booked and paid for. I was then told that it depended on when people had booked! It was then that I realised that it was all utter b@ll@cks. Eventually, when they realised that I was not going away, I was granted an audience with the manager, who apologised for the 'terrible situation' that they were in with rooms because of the 'flood', yadda, yadda. I didn't believe him. He promised that a room would be available for us the next day, and asked me not to tell any other guests that he had done this. I didn't know if I could believe that a room would be available, but went away and attempted to recapture that holiday feeling that had been lost on our arrival.
On our return the following day, a room was made available for us around 1 pm. Until that point my stay had been utterly miserable and full of tension. We had not been able to unpack our cases for the first 2 days of our holiday, which is completely unacceptable. This is not a trip for the faint hearted. I do a good line in outrage, but I can really do without it on holiday. Our room was small, but 'ok'. The air conditioning (for which we needed to pay a 10 Euro deposit for the remote, which was returned to us when we left)was fabulous and made the fight for our proper room worthwhile. There were lots of people around the hotel, in the restaurant, at the bar, with the tell-tale sign of 2 different all inclusive wrist bands and furrowed brows who - like us - had had the same miserable start to their holiday. I got chatting to quite a few of them. Only the ones who dug their heels in actually got what they paid for.
From then on, the stay itself was great. The entertainment staff worked really hard to keep the children and families happy. The food was warm and varied. We were always able to get a table and never had to wait around for someone else to finish before we could sit and eat. We were on floor 2 and there were some pretty inconsiderate peeople shouting and balling in the corridor at all hours, but obviously that's not something the hotel can predict or prevent. The beach was lovely and within easy reach. Chilling by the pool was just as enjoyable.
The day of check out reminded me of the Samoa that I had come to loathe on arrival. 2 lifts service the whole hotel, so we waited with the 2 kids for half an hour for the lift (picture the scene, parents.....), only to be greeted with complete mayhem at reception, where - clearly - lots of people were checking out at the same time, and there was nowhere safe to store their luggage because the small room available for the job was packed full. People were being told to 'just leave them there' in the reception area....'we'll keep an eye on them'. Yeah, right.
So, in short, out of our 7 day family holiday, almost 2 days were ruined by the tension and uncertainty created by a lovely hotel that appeals to many, overbooks, and then farms people out to alternative hotels which are - in our experience - not nearly of the same standard. If you want to take the risk, I would recommend hotel Samoa, but if you prefer to get what you've paid for without having to be 'difficult' to get it - DON'T BOTHER.

Family of four, includes 14 year and 6 year old. Plenty to do during the day at the hotel for kids and adults alike. Entertainment team were great, rarely saw my 14 year old, either off in the Maxi Club or with friends she'd met. This is definately a family hotel, bar and entertainment finishes at midnight so enables you to get a good nights sleep, alike some hotels which also have 18-30 clientele. If you want bars after this time, they are less than a five minutes walk. Beach also less than 5 minutes away, but to be honest, it was so hot and the kids liked the daytime entertainment, we were quite happy to get up, have breakfast and stay by the pool. Getting a sunbed was a bit of a pain however, there were always some available and you just move them where you want them so never without someone to lay or sit. Pool clean but doesn't allow inflatables, only after 6.00 when the power hungry life guard left! Food did become a bit boring after a few days. However, everything was edible. We were on second floor over restuarant, definately recommend air conditioning, shame the room didn't have it, although you can hire fans. Drinks are served in plastic cups but if you've got kids, this is far safer than glass. Queues for bars are quite long but in the evening you can go to the inside bar by reception and get served quicker. I would recommend paying for a taxi from the airport. On the way over it took just over an hour and a half. However on the way back, we were picked up at 5.00 and never got to the airport until 7.50 due to several stop offs. This was the only downside to the holiday.

This was the first time we had gone All Inclusive, and we found this one via Teletext using a broker called Qwerty. £415 each for a fortnight including transfers and luggage.
We'd read reviews before we went about sending peopel to their sister hotel, so naturally we were worried it may happen to us. We were lucky, however the couple checking in in front of us, and at least one couple most days during our time there were sent to Eurocalas for at least one night. We thought it was off that they had to come back after 11am every morning to see if there was a room available yet.
ASides from that, the rooms were basic but clean and tidy, and the maid was in making up the beds every day.
Reception staff all spoke good english and were very helpful.
Pool area cleaned down every night, and there were enough sunbeds for everybody, and was often used as an extension to the bar area in the eveing if the entertainment was taking place on the outside stage.
Entertainment was mainly geared to families, however there was a daytime adults program too, so you got to try out some different activities. The entertainment team work really hard, and it certainly paid off.
You were only allowed to get two drinks at a time from the bar, all in plastic half-pint cups, but the barstaff were very friendly and soon got through even long queues.
Food - we thought the range on offer was very good, we overheard some people saying there wasn't much choice, but we had intended to still dine out a couple of times while we were there, but as we liked the food we only ate there. If you are a fussy eater and only eat chicken nuggets, chips and beans or the like, then maybe this isn't for you. Considering they have to satisfy a lot of different nationalities that stay there, we thought it was good.
The resort is small, but there was plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed our stay, although we probably won't be back to this resort as it's a bit small to warrant a second visit.
