Comments:  Just back from Canarios Park Hotel. First of all, don't take the hoppa transfer as it takes longer than 45 mins to transfer you from the airport, it took us 2 hours going to the hotel and 2 hours 30 mins coming back. Not great with a small child. If I ever went back to the resort I would take a taxi and pay the extra. We also had to wait 2 hours at the airport for other travellers from other parts of uk before we even left the airport. On arriving at the hotel, reception staff seemed friendly enough, although can be a bit of a queue with one serving and the other 3 talking or just ignoring you.

Hotel clean but they have their work cut out for them with the irresponsible people that spill drinks, ice cream, leave food, cups etc lying around for it to be blown all over the pool area and inside the pool. Some of the people there are lacking in manners and respect for other peoples propertywhich makes misery for others.

Pool bar is the only bar you can get a drink in the evening and is always busy, you have to queue most nights, cocktails are disgusting, in plastic cups and you have to add your own soft drink to your cocktails or help yourself to other soft drinks which is unclean and during the day full or wasps and bees which of course have just been in the bin and now on the pop machine sucking the drips. Again alot of this is because people are spilling and leaving half empty cups, ice cream, food next to pool bar, staff should be cleaning up this area more.

Kids pool, well, where do i start, only gets cleaned out properly ever 2 days, by the end of the 1st day it is almost milky from creams, wee i presume which is what you'd expect from little ones, sand from the play park, it is vile and I didn't want my child in there much. Adults pool too deep and you can never get a bed.

Evening entertainment ok some nights, kids disco good but dangerous for small kids because of the pool and lighting hardly on much. They need a barrier.

Food was actually quite nice, great variety but don't expect it to be hot, hot plates don't keep it warm either. Very clean and some staff nice.

Take the train to the beach, now that was the best part of the holiday, beach is beautiful and take your packed lunch from the hotel, mind you, better pack sandwich bags as they only supply the food but nothing to wrap it in and you have to make it yourself from the breakfast food.

Enjoyed my holiday, hotel wasn't that bad if they took away the people that didn't respect their property and make it hard for them to make it better.

Comments:  Have just returned from a 7-days break with husband and two boys (4 and 5) and I have to say I really don't know what the poeple who have scored this hotel low really want for their money!!!! If people really want 5* then book and pay 5*. Sure this accommodation is pretty basic and maybe in some ways a little dated but it's really not that bad.
ROOMS: a little small for 4 people but cleaned and clean towels everyday. If you have a room over looking the pool at the back of the hotel you may find it a little noisy
FOOD: a good selection of food and really no need to eat junk (unless you choose to!) many of the dishes delicious, salads really fresh, good selection of fresh grilled meats - it really is very easy to avoid pizza and chips!!!!
POOLS: both really nice and the areas around the main pool (not one over the road) power washed every other day. The whole hotel is cleaned well every day and the cleaning staff seem to have an endless task cleaning up after some people that think they don't have to!
ENTERTAINMENT: evening entertainment OK - saying that kids loved it!!! I think the entertainment teams do really well to keep people busy during the day and also be expected to provide shows of an evening! They seemed to be there round the clock - hats off to them.
STAFF: Generally OK, some could smile a little more.
BEACHES: The bigger beach that you can get to on the train is lovely - water really clear and warm as bath water!
OVERALL: We had a great time here and if you don't expect plush luxury then so will you. We met some great people, the kids loved the pools, shows and as much ice creams as they could eat!!!!! Some people really do expect too much for their money!

Comments:  I have just come back from my holiday in Canarios Park hotel.

I spent a week there with my sister and we are both in our mid twenties (there abouts!)

We had a really nice time. The hotel is perfectly fine ...don't expect fireworks but its always clean, has good facilities - 2x swimming pools, the room was always clean ...it wasn't huge but completey adaquate. We had a nice small balcony which overlooked the swimming pool and beach in the distance. The food was good too ...generally lunch and dinner was roughly the same but it was all good - had two helpings of dinner until the 3rd day when I had to cut it out as my stomach had reached its loading capacity! :)

The hotel is very much a family one ...that is very apparent! There are many couples with families; though we probably stuck out a little at times being 2 young women in a family hotel, we did not mind and it was nice to relax completely in a pleasant environment.

The beach from the hotel is a short walk down some steps (at the side of the hotel) ...it is well worth the short walk as the beach is small and pretty, and it seems locals go there too, the water is clean and warm - absolutely lush. Plus the little beach shack bar that opens up noon+ serves fab mohito's and has good music! Just be aware the short walk up the stairs back to the hotel is a trek in hot weather (but very do-able).

The local area is very accessible as the centre is only about a 20 min walk away and there are touristy shops there. There is not much in the way of night life ...just bars, 'british style' restaurants (burger, chips) and outdoor pubs, but we didnt mind not finding somewhere to dance short term as we didnt want to spend too much money in that week being on an all inclusive! We went walking around a lot and checked out other beaches too, and majorca is a beautiful scenic place, with crystal clear waters.

The hotel evening events are geared at kids but it is very good every night, as everyone congregates by the pool 8pm+. The staff at the hotel are really hardworking and down to earth. The week away was a great break with my sis.

First day back at work ...time to get back to reality!! :)

Comments:  We booked our holiday early this year and only started reading the reviews about a month before we went, some of the reviews made us want to cancel the holiday be we needed a break so forged ahead. We had the best time ever and wish we were still there.
To be honest some of the bad reviews have a point, there are LOADS of wasps around the bar areas and places where kids have spilt there drinks but people only have themselves to blame for that and maybe they could clean the bars a bit better.
The "restraunt" or place to get stuff that resembles food as i would call it was good for the air con and the wine on tap but unless you like all your food deep fryed and the same thing to eat every day it gets very depressing. Some of the food i wouldnt feed to a dog let alone my two kids who lived on pasta and chips for two weeks. Lots of people were raving about the food though so maybe we were to fussy.
Most of the staff were very friendly and i dont blame some of the staff for being grumpy with all the visitors demands and mess. However the restraunt manager seemed a total arse and i hope he never looks in a mirror and smiles for his own sake.
The kids evening disco was the same every night but i think its like that so all the kids learn all the dances and can join in my two kids loved it. The adult entertainment varied from very bad to very good and the entertainment staff were always great.
The rooms were small but did the job they were intended to do but they really need air con. The room was cleaned every day but the sheets were only changed the day before we left which struck me as strange.
Watch out for one of the med hotels holiday reps called Venitia or vienetta (cant miss her black hair and constantly chewing gum) she is USELESS she really doesnt know what the hell she is talking about and just makes stupid excuses if some thing doesnt go to plan.
The only other thing is not down to the hotel but parents of children. I admit we let our kids of the leash a bit while we were there but always kept them in sight and made sure they were behaving, other people however just let there kids run riot and those people should be handcuffed to there kids so they suffer the little shits and not the rest of us. The hotel should also ban the use of handheld laser pointers by some of the kids, i lost count of how many times someone tryed to burn out the eyes of the poor people on stage trying to do there job.
Apart from all this we had the best time ever the beach was not far on the train which does get busy at times.I do recomend you buy some blow up lilos and a sun shade total cost about 15euro as the sunbeds cost 10.50euro each time you visit do the maths. The town was an aladins cave, you could get anything you needed there and the restraunts and cafes are a welcome escape from the hotel food.
We met some really nice people there too and struck up a good friendship.
I cannot stress enough how good a time we had. If your going without kids then this isnt the place for you but if youve got kids and can control them its great.
We didnt want to come home and hope to return some time when we can afford it.
Just ignore the bad stuff as there is much more good stuff to keep you happy.

Comments:  dont listen to the bad comments! we have just come home last night 27th aug. after a great 2 week holiday at canarious park and we are sad to be home to nornallity! if you want 5*then book 5*! the only complaint we had is no air con! this wasnt such a problem at bedtime as much as when we,d had a hard time relaxing by the pool in the hot sun all day(its a hard life!)warm trying to get ready to go out at night.
the food was prepeared and presented to a high standard...never eaten so much on holiday..there wasnt a great gap in the times we couldnt eat if we wanted! breakfast isnt going to be a "full english"but hello;we are in spain!toaster slow:but whats the rush!!! lunch & dinner: varied selection of fresh meat, pork, beef, chicken, lamb & fish.rice, pasta:not covered in sauce so you could add your own or leave plain if you wanted.lots of salad, cold meats, cheese, veg & pickles.chips & pizza everyday:yes;but only if you wanted it!plenty to choose from without it!! if you have room left there is the fresh bread & the puddings are yum..naughty but v.nice!oh;fresh fruit too! after 9pm drinks are served 2 at a time but it just meams either both of you get up n queue if your a couple or u just have to go t the bar a few more times!kids help themselves to soft drinks when they like...
entertainment is spot on for the kids and the adults with games & activities such as waterpolo, vollyball.,rifleshooting, archery, darts, table tennis & much more. the night time entertainment isnt great but its watchable & isnt lack of effort by the staff who work bloody hard day & night! again;you are on holiday;if you cant make your own entertainment;talking to the other people you meet; stay at home & watch eastenders!!!! the staff are polite, helpful & friendly;treat them with respect & they will do the same! the hotel rooms are smallish but clean.beds made, towels changed everyday.pool area gets busy, esp over at the larger deep pool, where they say its difficult to get a sunbed..but stick to the smaller pool & there is no mega rush for a bed..we were getting up & going over for a bed around 8.30,9ish with no problems! thats where the activities are too. we had a great time & our 9yr old daughter never said the dreaded "im bored" once! the bonus for us was the great bunch of people we met there!!!

Comments:  on arival to this hotel our first impressions were the place was very clean, you could smell how clean it was. Checked in and the staff were very helpful and friendly. When we got to room they were very small but we knew that b4 we went so it wasnt a real deal. We had 2 beds and a set of bunk beds brill we thought till we noticed the top bunk had no guard on and no steps to get up. We werent best pleased. I went to ask for a room change or a guard an steps putting up, the reply was " we put the beds on floor for children?" i said no way their isnt enough room to swing a cat anyway that will make it worse. She babbled in spanish to the cleaner "how rude" and told me the cleaner would come an have a look. 20 mins later no one came so we went to breakfast. When we got back the bunk had a guard an steps so they sorted it for us an we were pleased. The overall opinion was we had a really good stay here the food was good but got boring towards the last few days, its was exceptionally clean dispite other reviews saying it was dirty. Staff were very miserable especially the ginger haired one at the pool who looked like him off big cook little cook (liitle cook) he had a big attitude. The younger train driver was an idiot too he had a really bad attitude and just stopped half way home and chatted for ages with locals while everyone else was on the train waiting. We got from the room wot we needed, shower was fab, cleaner cleaned daily however i had my hair dyed b4 i went so my towel got red on it, that towel was still their when we were leaving, beds never got changed either. At nite it was really noisy until at least 2am, it dint bother us cos everyone was just enjoying themselves. But all nite their were deliveries, coaches skidding around, taxis, locals etc making us have little sleep at nite. Entertainment staff were very clicky and it almost felt like we werent their long enough to join in. The lady in the shop was gr8 she was always smiling and dancing around. Never had to queue for food or drink which was a huge bonus and their were loads staying at this hotel , so they had it sorted in that area. The kids loved it being able to get food, drinks ice creams etc alone. The 2 pools are lovely and we were never out of them. We definately got our moneys worth and allthough we had a really good time i wouldnt return to this hotel, mainly because we like to go different places. If you want a family holiday on a budget go here cos its worth the money but just dont expect too much.

Comments:  Stayed for 14 nights, family of 5 (girls aged 8,7 & 4 who had an absolute ball), got back on Aug 7th. Had a large room for 5 with no balcony which was a god send as the youngest would have tried to jump off. As it was at the front of the hotel the sun never really shone on the room so it stayed cool(ish).
We only went to the pool at the back of the hotel once, the one at the front was far better with more activities going on for both kids & adults (check out Matteo the Italian!).
Sunbeds around the pool at the sports complex were always available, but you had to go early if you wanted a bed that adjusted, if you walk up the road to the right of the sports complex there is a gate open to get in.
We went on the free train to the beach which was beautiful, the small one you can walk to is also nice but a bit rocky.
The restraunt hardly ever closed and a tip for evening snacks, put chips pizza etc in a napkin to take out, dont take a plate out as they wont let you, then put it in the bins provided
The entertainment was great for the kids, with a small park within the hotel grounds.
They have cocktails that are not advertised, so ask and you might be surprised, we tried black russians made from local spirits, which were strong.
All in all a fantastic time had by all. Don't take any notice of the bad reviews, or book 4/5 star and pay the price.

Comments:  I have to say I must have stayed at a different hotel to the GOOD reviews left for Canarios Park. I found it to be tacky, dingey, dark and depressing! In desperate need of a refurb and lifts that work.

The hotel staff were miserable and rude mostly, although Miguel (young lad on reception) was the exception. When we arrived I could honestly have cried, and it just got worse. The room was so small with 2 beds and camp bed for our daughter, but no cot for our baby and no room for it either. No apology for the error, just a grunt that they'd put the cot there, which they eventually did at 11.00pm when my baby was exhausted and grumpy after a long day travelling!

THERE IS NO AIR CON!!! AND IT IS STIFLING IN THE ROOMS!!! If you're at the back of the hotel and overlooking the main pool you can't have the patio door open either as music is so loud. To add insult to injury they charge you 18 EUROS to rent a fan p/wk. We went into Calas town and bought one for 25 Euros rather than give the hotel any further business, and sold it to new arrivals on the day we left.

The food is dire, unless of course you like pizza and chips EVERYDAY including breakfast, yes I did say BREAKFAST! Don't get me wrong, the cooks work bloody hard all day and night providing it but it's shite, probably to do with the budget they're given.

The hotel is full (apologies to those nice people that were there when we were) of chavs and scummers, who f and blind at their children, allow them to run riot and congregate in gangs, and let 6yr olds were make up, miniskirts and heels! They get up at the crack of dawn to hog all the sunbeds & parasols and are generally not nice to be around.

I could go on all day with negatives on this hotel, but frankly I've wasted one week of my life already and don't intend to waste anymore. Good luck is all I can say and commiserations if you've booked it.

Comments:  Please do not listen to the bad reviews! This is an honest review.

We went to Canarios Park Hotel as a family of 5. The children being 16, 11 & 3 for 14 nights. I believe you get what you pay for and this is exactly what to expect from Canarios Park Hotel. I totally agree with everything that Miss J Shuttlewood & AB Bradley said in their reviews and glad I did not give the bad reviews much notice.

I would like to add a few things that were not mentioned.

Fortunately we booked a shuttle bus which took us straight to the resort without the usual drop offs. The journey took about an hour.

Our room was unsuitable due to it not having a balcony but the staff arranged for us to move and we got a large room with beautiful views of the main pool and sea.

There were several break-ins during our stay and they had keys to access the rooms. Fortunately we just kept thing in the safe. Just be careful and do not leave valuables lying around the room.

The cooks and dining staff, especially the african man was very friendly and helpful. The food of the evening was not the same left overs from lunch. My husband hates all inclusive but there was enough choice for something to tempt him. We only ate out 3 times. The trick is not to have a bit of everything but have a proper meal and then there will be loads of choice to last throughout your holiday.

I am one of those, shamefully who had to get up early for a sun bed. We used the pool at the front as it was more suitable for the younger ones. We went when the gates opened at 8.30am but found that others were climbing the wall way before to secure the beds. We spent most of our time after that on the 2 great local beaches. One of the beaches you walk to. The other was via the train or taxi (5 Euros). By the way there are jellyfish!!!!! We ordered packed lunches and filled our water bottles up before going. Be careful not to go to reception after 10am to collect your box or you will be told off. You have been warned!

The glass bottom boat is a must. Departs from main calas beach which the train drops you off to.

Do not forget to ask for your deposits back for hired fans and safes because the staff will not remind you.

Wasps were around but mainly by the drinks people leave around the pool. Never bothered us though.

We stayed at the sister hotel in Calas De Mallorca, Calas park 2 years ago. This is a 4 star plus and we paid the price to stay there. Apart from the hotel being in good condition and the entertainment was a little better there was no difference. I found the people who stayed at the Canarios Park Hotel were more friendly, although there were some children who were uncontrolable. Running down corridors, banging doors and shouting very late at night.

Please also read the reviews by Miss J Shuttlewood & AB Bradley and you will have a true picture of Canarios Park Hotel.

Comments:  on arrival at the hotel we were politely meeted and greeted by a host and booked in which all in all took around ten minutes which in very hot conditions is perfect.
our room was on the 3rd floor and was spacious for the four of us, tv, shower, sky, and a great view of the sea
the kids loved the hotel, entertainment everyday and when your 12 you cant get enough of the excitement, its definately a family hotel where kids are the priority.
food is served throughout the day and is to a good standard, there is loads to choose from and its nice and hot. drinks are served from 10till 12 which was great but sometimes people took advantage and were running riot drunk, then again they are on holiday
overall the hotel was a great break and we are considering going back next year.
the beaches are full of golden sand and stunning views.
a great holiday

Comments:  This holiday was overall a good break.

The hotel is basic and is in need of some moderation however it is very clean. There is no air conditioning which when on holiday in August is a bit of a nightmare as its so hot.

Food is generally good - it can however alot of the time be cold. Alot of children were left to run riot which did spoil it for some of the other guests.

Facilities are good - alot to do!

Comments:  I went to this hotel for 9 days and nights with my mother and my father.
I wasn't expecting much as it was only a three star hotel anyway. But when we arrived there in the coach, i took a first glance and was shocked!! The outside was tacky, and it definitely needed a paint job, but then, when i got into the lobby, it wasn't anywhere near as bad. There was a marble floor, three computers and i must say, it was quite classy.
In the restaurant, the food was lovely for about the first three days, but then it just got boring! The same food was there everyday almost, except for the meat (there was always a different type of meat). The restaurant was also very handy because it served food throughout all the day, only leaving half hour gaps.
The rooms were very small, but did get cleaned often, and the towels got changed every day. But the only thing i will say is that my bed only got changed once! And it wouldn't have got changed either if i hadn't of stripped the bed completely! Another issue with our room was that it was on the entertainment side of the hotel which was just soo noisy!! And you couldn't have closed the patio doors to get peace because you would have boiled to death, as they didn't even have any aircon! If you wanted a bit of a breeze in the night you would have had to have rented a fan which costs about fifteen euros for your whole stay.
The hotel had six floors, and we had to be on the sixth one! The only way to get up to the sixth floor without sweating like a pig was to take the lifts (which there were only two of!), but it took about 5-10 minutes each time to wait for one! And to top it all off, the kids kept playing with them and just calling them for a laugh; so every time one of the lifts got up to about level 5, it would just go back down again!
The hotel has two pools, one at the back, and one at the front accross the road. Both of the pools had a bar which was of course part of the all inclusive, but didn't have any snacks. There WERE NOT enough sunbeds at all around the pools, and if you wanted to get one in a decent place, you'd have to be queing on the ground floor at about 8 o clock in the morning when the pools don't even open until 8.30 anyway! Me and my parents only stayed by the pool in the back anyway, but most days we went to the beach, which was about 10 minutes away if you took the mini train from outside the hotel. The beach was lovely! The only thing was, you had to pay for your drinks and even for your sunbeds! Me and my dad also took a walk down to the smaller beach behind the hotel, but it was disgusting! There was a chemical plant right next to it which you could smell even from the hotel! Also, it only had about ten sunbeds on it anyway!
In the nights, the entertainment was OK i guess. There was bingo every night, and a different theme everynight. The entertainment stopped at 12, and there was always a minidisco for the kids at about 8.30.
Whilst we stayed in Canarios park, there were four break-ins, apparently the robbers even had keys! There was a safe in the room though, which you had to pay to use.

Comments:  stayed at the canarios park august 2008. very very very busy, must get up at 0700 to secure sunbed, be down to evening meal at 7pm to secure pool side seat.

This hotel needs half the guests and twice the staff as its massive.

The staff are ok, entertainment staff very good with good daytime activities but entertainment poor.

The guests vary with a few rough diamonds.

The food is luke warm at best but has a good variety which was a shame.

If you are looking for a quiet holiday go somewhere else!

Comments:  Got back 3 days ago - having read the mxed reviews we decided to book but our advice is don't book if you haven't already done so.
The hotel itself was not too bad a bit run down but generally clean, that was until the guests (mainly Brits, I am ashamed to say!) decided to drop their rubbish and spill their drinks everywhere - they chose not to notice that there were plenty of bins around.
The biggest problem WAS the majority of the other guests who allowed their kids to run riot, running up and down stairs along the corridors and like heards of screaming banshees outside the complex at night- how there weren't any accidents I will never know.
The staff were not falling over themselves to be employees of the month but who could blame them with what they had to deal with - although I agree with the other comments on this site about the red haired barman being rude and the little manager in the restauarant could learn some manners too!
The food was ok, after a pretty poor first meal it did get better and you could always find something to eat (my 17 year old had pizza and chips for lunch and tea for 7 days!). The food was often luke warm but we warmed ours up in the microwave by the tea and coffee at the back of the restaurant and that made it more enjoyable.
Our room was small but it was cleaned and the towels were changed daily - the cleaner did a good job. There were wasps, but not swarms of them alhough they were a nuisance around the drinks dispenser. The entertainment was awful - we either walked into Calas to escape it (15 mins on foot) or sat in the garden area as faraway from it as possible.
A couple of tips - you need to be up and queing inside the hotel at 8am if you want a sunbed a there were no way enough beds for the amount of people staying there (hated myself for doing it but you had to) and they wouldn't let you by the pool until 8.30, then it was like a rugby scrum. Also, the rooms are roasting so hire a fan, it will help you sleep and drown out the noise of the kids!
I judge a holiday on whether I would ever go back there again and I would never return to this hotel.
