We booked the Mar Y Vent as it was the cheapest we could find when booking. We had rubbish flight times to make the hol cheaper and arrived there at 4am to be dropped off and just left at the top of the street by the Thomson rep when they had been and seen everybody else into their hotels.
Upon arrival there was a grumpy spanish 'security guard' as he called himself...he was the only person to be seen with regards to staff. After we'd searched the hotel and reception for some sort of staff to check us in we had to ask him as he was the only one. He did so reluctantly and was a complete waste of space! However when we did eventually get to our room the room itself wasn't too bad, was clean enough..bathroom a bit manky but we hadn't paid alot so couldn't really complain that much!
The maids cleaned more than we thought which was a bonus.
Major downside is having to pay 10 euros a day for the air con, at the time of year we went it was soo hot, but wanted all our money to spend on going out so we couldn't afford the air con!
The location of the hotel is brilliant, not even 1 minute from Cafe Mambo, Savannah and Cafe Del Mar and the amazing sunset! 10 mins walk to the West End and some really nice restaurants nearby!
The 'security guard' is a right fun killer! This is meant to be a lively hotel however we came back one night at about 4am laughing and joking, not causing any trouble and he turned all the electric off in our apartment to shut us up and wouldn't put it back on until we went to bed!
Also one night, one of the lads in the apartment below us had taken some local drugs, thought he was superman and tried to throw himself off the balcony! At which point 10,000 police arrived at our hotel and carted him off!
Warning: you will not get any sleep at this hotel so not for couples or children, balcony's are really close together and people on them at all hours shouting!
Overall an ok hotel, would go back if it was cheap enough.

Just got back from Ibiza last night and I have to admit I was dreading the state of the place from previous reviews plus the fact it was only given an official 1 star rating but how wrong I was! Ok its basic but good enough, it comes with a pool which was clean, a games room and its own cafe (which I will admit was not the best for eating in but drinks were well priced).
The apartments are spacious, the hotel is quiet (they even have a member of staff who stays up the whole night in case people make too much noise or forget their keys!) plus its less then 10 mins walk from the West End and only up the road from the sunset bars Cafe Mambo and Cafe Del Mar.
Considering it cost only £130 for 10 nights I would happily stay here again.

Now i am no holiday snob at all, i am 21 and love going away and never normally car about what the hotel looks like as long as it is clean...but this is something to its own!
I have stayed in some dives over the past few years like the fiesta Jungla is Magaluf but this was just something i have never seen before.
After getting to the hotel at 4am in the morning we moved rooms 4 times; Blood in one of the beds in one room, the next there was a leaking air con unit on the bed, the next there was only 2 beds in what they swore was a 3 bed room ( which had hairs in) and then the final one was a tiny room with no windows with curtins hanging from a peice of string and 1 light working that had to light the whole room and the bathroom....and air con that you could not control.
After we had been 2 all 4 rooms we were told to sleep in the last room and our original room would be cleaned for us - however when we braved going by the pool the next day (which was smaller than my living room with all broken glass and cigarete stumps floating in the pool) we seen that there was a group of lads in our supposed room that was being cleaned for us.
Also we paid for a sea view room with travel republic which the hotel apparently dont even offer to the customer!!
After causing absolute uproar with our travel company we ended up having to stay another night until we moved hotels - they made us pay for 3 nights even though we only stayed 2 and quite frankly they should really have to pay people to stay there!!!
Would have given this 0 but you cant so it is a very low 1
This is a vile hotel, with very rude staff who havent got a clue what they are doing.
Even if you think you dont care you just want to be able to get your head down....dont bother because we couldnt even bring ourselves to get a shower in these it was that bad and missed 2 of the main nights in Ibiza because of it!
Would advise Hotel Tropical or Ibiza rocks (worth the money!!!)
I never write reviews but this hotel is really that bad....and so are Travel republic do not book with them.

ideal location for beach, sunset, restaurants and bars all within a very short distance!!!
rooms are spacious but basic the views are good from the balcony, it was not that loud at night time cos its more toward the quiet end of san an, the hotel was clean and rooms are cleaned 2 times every 7 days, basic amenities inside the apartment ie 2 heat rings, fridgefreezer, pans plates and cutlery... i would go again because its good for the price and location of the hotel a defo for young ones,!!!

First of all after paying 62 Euros on arrival for a safety deposit box, when we eventually found our room (after no help from reception) we discovered that the safety deposit box was full of mouldy bread, empty pot noodle pots and various other bits of rubbish! This was creating a disgusting smell that was noticeable as soon as you entered the room!! When we complained about this the maid did not seem very willing or happy to clean this out, even though this is her job!
Moving on to the maid, this was the only time she came to our room during our stay of 10 days!
The bathroom was absolutly disgusting. The plaster was coming off the side of the bath which had rust all over it! The shower head was positioned in such way that it was going all over the floor every time it was switched on! We told the staff on reception about this and they were not interested at all!
Moving on to the staff on reception, they were no help at all regarding anything!! On our last day the lady on reception told us she would order us a taxi and it would arrive within minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting we asked her where the taxi was. She then decided to shout at us in a very angry manner, and told us in no uncertain terms that she would not be ordering us a taxi! As I felt i was ging to be late for my flight I then had to walk to the nearest taxi rank whihc is a good 2 mile in the red hot heat!
This hotel can only be described as I have stated in the title, a hellhole!!
Please stay away from this hotel it is disgusting and runied what would have been a brilliant holiday!

Me and my two best friends stayed at the Mar Y Vent for one week at the very beginning of July this year, and thought it was fantastic. Our apartment was spacious and well planned with two bedrooms and a lovely view from the balcony. Air con was available although we had to pay €6 a day for it, which wasnt bad considering we split it between the three of us which meant only paying €2 each, and it was so worth it to be able to come back to a cool apartment after a night of partying! the pool was great too, although a little crowded in the middle of the day. We did have a bit of trouble with the cooking facilities i.e. the cooking rings took AGES to heat up properly which isnt really practical when all you want to do is eat something quickly and get ready to go out, however this didnt really pose much of a problem as we ate out most of the time and found that we didnt really need to cook much at all, cold food from the reasonably priced supermarket next door did us nicely!
I would recommend the mar y vent to anyone travelling to San An, its location is probably the best thing about it. Whilst other hotels may have plasma screens in the rooms and free air conditioning, it doesnt really match up to being 30 seconds away from the beautiful sunset strip, along with that fantastic world famous ibiza sunset, and just 10 minutes away from the West End and the fabulous night life it has to offer.

Four of us stayed at the Mar Y Vent for 1 week July 2008. I was a bit apprehensive as I had heard a lot of bad reviews about the place. However, when we got there we were pleasantly surprised by our room. It was very large with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen/living room. The balcony had chairs and a sea view. There was no air con but 2 big fans were in the room so this didnt really bother us. Bathroom was a decent size. There were 4 rooms off each landing and we got to know the other groups of party goers in the other 3 rooms. It is definately an hotel for young people and there is constant music no matter what time of day or night (which never really bothered us as we didnt sleep too much). I would recommend getting a safe to keep your valuables in but we never had an problems with safety in our room. The pool area is quite small and crowded but for the price this wasnt an issue. The cafe in the hotel was good. At the end of our stay, we were able to have a shower in the shower room downstairs after checking out of the hotel and there was a place to store luggage. It was a good 15 min walk to the beach and Eden and Es Paradis, and the bars along the sea front, but was situated almost in the West end and was a 1 minute walk from Cafe Mambo and Cafe Savannah.

This hotel is basic but when your in ibiza thats all you need! The staff at the hotel werent the best as we had problems with water in our room which took 3 days to fix but apart from that this hotel is perfect! Couldnt have asked for a better location in san antonio a 2 second walk to the amazing sunset an a 5 min walk to the west end! Ideal! There was a really good atmosphere at the hotel everyone there for the same reason, didnt go around the pool during the day though as its a small area and theres much better places to go during the day! I would stay there again 100% and would recommend it to anyone! Cant wait for ibiza 09!!

These are apartments are amazing. We had a 2bedroom apartment with 2fans, a microwave & toaster. Thats the most I've seen in any self-catering apartment.
A range of people go, theres Scottish, English, Irish & Welsh. It great and you always get a good laugh at the pool during the day or on the balconies at night.
Only thing I would say-go escapades...we went twentys & never spoke us once but the escapade reps invited us on their booze cruise & pub crawl which was great, they were some laugh.
I'm booking these apartments again again for 2009.

Me and 7 other girls stayed here and would never stay anywhere else but here again! everything is literally on your doorstep. very relaxed environment, perfect for groups who just want to go clubbing because it's constant partying
