beautiful position and view. on arrival given a leaflet by the hotel reception about hotel policies which stated that placing towels or other articles on sunbeds was not allowed.had to be up every morning by 7.30a.m. to secure a sunbed and parasol.it was very hot and unbearable without a parasol and there was no other shade around the pool.questioned the shortage of parasols with the manageress and was told it was government policy !!!questioned hotel policy about reserving sunbeds and was told every morning at 8.00am any towels on beds were removed and regular checks were made during the course of the day.this did not happen once and she took me to the window to show me there were empty sunbeds. this was at 5.30pm when a lot of people had gone to their rooms.her attitude was not suited to the hospitality industry and this was reflected in a lot of the staff who were not on the whole very friendly.the food was good, the room okay but the air condition less than effective.the corridors were gloomy and the pool area not kept very clean.overall impression was a lack of management and staff mostly unsupervised.the life guard was only seen at his as post once during the week and was serving at the pool bar and wandering about.

Having read the review's of some of the guests that had stayed at the Sentido Cala Vinas Hotel we wanted a late booking a week away from it all, iI seemed to fit the bill so I booked a week at this hotel.........Oh dear i should have taken note from the review which was left by murphs14 (That I have just read again before writing my review) and I dont think they were being picky just truthful as this was more or less what we found the hotel to be like , No it is not a 4* hotel I would say a low 3* very poor all round food, drinks, pool, staff, and service or should I say what service !!!!!! most nights we ate out, and most days we walked over to the Barcelo Cala Vinas Hotel (which was Lovely and yes that is a 4* unlike the Sentido Cala Vinas hotel ) as both hotels here have the same name and wonder if people are getting confused and leaving the good reveiws for The Barcelo Cala vinas???????? we stayed All inclusive but for us it was a waste of money as we did not eat or drink much at the hotel as it was so bad, My wife and I have stayed in many 4 & 5* hotel's all over the world and this was without dought the worst 4* I have ever stayed, how people go back i will never know but I suppose it's what you are used to and what standards you have .... oh and as for the entertainment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need I say more ...............

Stayed in this hotel in june 2009 don't be fooled as we were, It Is not a 4* at best a 3*, the hotel is a 1970's eye sore we booked last min but I can say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in food cold and very boaring, drinks beer wine ok but coke lemonade etc comes out of a gun horrid, room was ok yes the hotel has been re decorated very badley paint all over the skirting boards and wood work , corridors very dark and dingy and musty smell, staff very rude if you are on the all inclusive they seem to think you are getting something for nothing.the pool area is very boraing and was never cleaned cups left, stains on the floor rubbish etc, the best thing is the veiw fron the room...... and from round the pool but when lying on your sunbed you can't see it because of a solid wall all the way round when we were there the place was over run with very rude Russians who took people's sunbeds saw lot's of row's just what you need when on holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , not enough sun shades some law say's thay can only have 23!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think so and they even have a suntan advisor who come's and tells you the dangers of getting burnt !!!!!!!!!!!!!....... and as for the entetainment RUBBISH NO i would not recommend it ...... save your money go else where...!!!!!!!!!

Came back from this lovely hotel on 30/7/09. The hotel itself is great, spotless, lovely pool. There were never enough sun loungers or parasols and people were getting up at 6.30-7.30 to put towels down. The children's pool was also good although we did have to ask twice to clean it at 9am. Facilities for children were extremely good and plenty of poolside activities for them. There was a children's club with painting and model making which also you couldn't fault except that a 3 year old painting a plain 50p t-shirt was charged 6 euros. The room was clean and clean towels apppeared every day. The entertainment was a bit cheesy but ok for holiday times. Also they advertised a poolside snack bar, you weren't allowed to take any food out, even under the attached canopy to the snack bar but you could take food, any amount, in a servette. The last three days of our holiday 26-30 July, they closed the snack bar as they said there wasn't enough staff to bring the food down from the main restaurant so if you wanted anything, you had to go up 4 floors to the dining room. AND NOW TO THE FOOD. If you like canteen food, you will definitely enjoy it. We spoke to people who had been going for a number of years and said that although the food wasn't good, every year it has improved so perhaps as time goes on, it will get better. The last two days, we couldn't face the food any more and decided to eat out. The location is fantastic, overlooking the sea with breathtaking views. Please describe your stay in detail. Remember not to use profanity or ALL CAPS, as that will prevent us from publishing your review.

Just got back early this morning and I must say Hotel Cala Vinas is something very special. The hotel reception is amazing and very posh and leads onto an exceptional restaurant and bar with an equally exceptional view of the sea below. The pool is easily accessible and big enough for everyone. The entertainment is very good and Animacion put an enormous amount of effort into the entertainment and it gets a lot of people meeting new people easily. Entertainment ranges from Rifle shooting and Archery in the Cave to Who can do the biggest bomb in the pool. Excellant for Family holidays or equally good for the romantic getaways. Magaluff straight is only a few minutes walk around the corner but there is a very steep hill. The views are amazing of the sea. Semi submergeable boats are also on daily for guests to have a chance to see the sealife as well. The food is great quality but there sometimes isn't much to choose from. For example, Most of the desserts have melted by the time you get to them. Occasionally it can be hard to get a decent sun lounger for all day use but all sunbeds are in the sun between 10:00 - 16:00.
Overall, i'd this is a very good 4* hotel and worth every penny.

My wife and myself have just had a great 11 days at Cala Vinas. How anyone can find as many faults as the Murphs14 review did I do not know (do people just have to find faults at any cut and turn). The hotel was beautfully clean, food was adequate and enough to satisfy anyone. I felt the entertainment staff were excellent (Andy, Will, Fatima and Mel) a joy to listen to them singing show songs and not miming. The brought in entertainment was also a very high standard (from Abba, B Gees through Il Divo to the Welsh songbird- Cerys). Yes there was a problem about lack of umbrellas and sometimes towels on beds but the hotel brought in additional canopies and started lifting towels from beds if you were not present at 7.45am. My one problem area was the lack of reasonable walks after meal time- area lovely but hilly.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday venue.

Just back from a week with adult family. On arrival reception area and staff very impressive. However, all other areas of hotel are very dated and in need of quality update.Rooms quite nice but floored with laminate straight out of B&Q ! Rooms allocated on arrival contained cockroaches, but unable to move rooms until following day.Not very good! Food good, plenty of selection but nearly always just warm enough. Staff friendly in the main.No way near enough sun beds, and the beds always taken very early in the morning by those arrogant rude pathetic germans who strutted around as if they won the 1966 world cup! Bloody cheeky sods.Sadly lacking in sun umbrellas, it was criminal! The hotel bars, restaurant open to non residents which I thought strange. One would expect a dress code for dinner to be implemented, but all sorts of shorts, football shirts T shirts and Tattoos on display. Evening entertainment good on some nights with visiting acts, but hotel staff below par although you could see they were trying their best. Location of hotel fantastic and for that alone would consider returning, even though more cockroaches found in our room on our last day.Management seemed shocked by our find, but I believe they know the building is infested with them.

I have to say that I also stopped in June 2009 and can't disagree more with Murphs14. I found the Cala Vinas hotel a lovely place to stay. Fabulous location with a peaceful atmosphere and the few children to be polite and well behaved. Although sheets could be changed more often and maybe a porter would be an improvement. The general cleanliness of the hotel and welcome was of a good standard. I enjoyed the daily activities they set on and found them a good way to make sure we were not out in the sun for too long. Food and drinks provided on all inclusive were of a good standard with plenty of selection. Knowing that the group we stayed with had visited other all inclusive hotels, they thought the standard of the Cala Vinas compared with other hotels of the same rating was high. Well done, hope to be back some day xxx

Have just come back fron a short stay, thank God it was a short stay... Hotel has had a referb but a very cheap & Tacky one at that, we do we start well on arrival Hotel reception was quite impressive, went down to our room no offer of bags being taken down for you....., small room but cleanish bits on the floor, view from room beautiful, made our way down to bar stairs and hallways have a very musty smell, we booked all inclusive the staff seem to have this idea that if you are all inclusive that you are getting something for nothing!!!!!!!! and have a real attitude that don't seem to know that you have paid upfront for them!!!!! Food is ok but what gets left over from one meal seems to get made into something else (not sure what),There is quite a good selection but always seemed cold, same as the pool snack bar food was always cold, Not enough sun umberellas 22 in total or sunbeds sad thing is the hotel has a sunbathing Advisor which comes round and tells you about the affects of getting burnt....well they should get more umberellas, we looked out one morning at 6.15am not an umberella to be had.... so what time you have to get up God only knows.... , we witnessed quite a few arguments over sunbeds & Umberellas, the room was cleaned daily of sorts, but the sheets were not changed once remember this is suppose to be a 4*, there are lots of Russian men there with wife's girlfrinds?( not quite sure all about 30 years younger ) they walked round like they owned the place.
there manners are alot to be disired we even asked the waiter to move us one night as the Russian chap who sat facing us was eating like a pig!!!!! the pool area was dirty cups stains on the floor from the day before.....and not a nice pool area, And well as for the Entertainment I will let you be the judge of that...... so if you want Beer swilling Britts , rude Russians, screaming children, & rude staff, this could be the place for you. But pleae dont be fooled as we were by good reviews, I just wonder what these people are use to Having stayed in Many 4/5* hotels all over the world THIS IS NOT A 4* at best I would say a low 3*..........the best thing here is the beautiful bay, But on our last morning there we witnessed a young chap drown in the bay, not the way you would like to end a holiday .

Cala Vynas is a very quiet resort if you want to chill out, if you want a bit more life then it's only 10 mins walk to Magalluf (but don't if you can help it!) The hotel is 4* and well deserved. Clean, good staff, excellent food, good pool area (although short of a lot of sun umbrellas)Waiting for the 'dinner gong' we sat in the bar and were entertained by the pianist on a baby grand! (thoughts of Poirot, i actually ordered a pre-meal sherry- very civilised) Evening entertainment at the pool side bar was good. Lots of 50,60 and 70+ age holiday makers, but don't make the mistake of thinking this is a retirement home in the sun! Lots of youngsters too, and a good interactive holiday between us all. A good hotel to unwind, re-wind, do what you want, do nothing. We'll go back there again.

Hotel, Clean tidy and well maintained though just at the latter stages of refurb. Staff friendly, helpful and polite. Rooms cleaned daily and thoroughly. Food good but could be abit more variety. No snacks between meals. Pool Bar open when weather is hot but young girl isn't very conversant or understanding
Entertainment for adults is poor and could be better organised during the day and evening. Entertainment Couple seem to be unorganised and favour spanish customers.
Hotel used by Saga also besides larger groups of spanish and french.
All in all, I would go again, its picturesque, relaxing and nicely located.
