Isabella Hotel

You cannot beat the location of Hotel Isabella in Taormina! We stayed in a 2nd floor room looking out behind the hotel, which wasn't high enough for a view beyond the town itself...but we did not mind this at all. The room was fairly spacious with nice furnishings, and the bathroom very clean and of a reasonable size. I wish I had taken pictures of the room itself, but I did not. This hotel fronts the main pedestrian shopping street of Taormina. The back of the hotel looks out onto the water and the ancient Greek Theatre. Our room at the back was quiet (no traffic since we were quite high up, Taormina being situated on a hillside) very clean and nicely appointed. The usual small bathroom with a small corner shower was clean and in working order. The front desk was a bit " big hotel demure" but efficient and helpful when needed. In an ideal loctaion right on the main pedestrian street of the town. The room was ok but the bed was two singles pushed together. The bathroom was funny as the shower was held up by an elastic band which of course broke and flooded the floor!! The breakfast terrace on the roof is lovely with great views of the area. We rented a car so we had to park it in the underground Lumbi car park and get the shuttle bus to the town.

This hotel is PERFECT if you want to be in the center of it all. The hotel itself is average. I would not recommend it if you are planning to stay in Taormina for more than a weekend. The hotel is clean but does not offer much amenities. The great thing about staying here is that you are centrally located in the middle of the shops, restaurants and nightlife of Taormina. Basically that is all this hotel has to offer. If you want a relaxing experience of Taormina then I would recommend a hotel by the beach.

This hotel has a perfect location on the Corso Umberto, a main street not accesible to cars. Taormina has awesome restaurants and shops. Our room was very spacious that had a large patio attached to it. You had to share it with other guests. If you travel with a large group you can share it all with your party. The staff was very friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. Do not forget to go to Castelmola. A small town above Taormina. Not to be missed. Great sights of Mt Etna. Would stay here again. The hotel has ab ideal location on Corso Umberto which is the main pedestrian street that cross Taormina with all the shops. The room was clean yet very small, the bathroom was OK and it was at the back of the hotel with a magnificent view of the sea and Teatro Greco. The bad thing was that the room shared a terrace with two other small rooms and it was a bit scary if you were trying to rest and somebody from the other rooms wanted to enjoy the view, one could very easily see you! The Isabella is right on the Corso Umberto, one of few hotels so centrally located in Taormina. The service is helpful and the breakfast is reasonably good and complete. The rooms are nothing special and the beds are not exactly plush. Our room was in the back so the view was of the rooftops of neighboring houses - not inspiring. So, I'd stay there again; the location is great and the place is comfortable. Just don't expect a luxury property.

This is your standard type hotel. Located centrally on the main shopping street of Taormina. Views vary. You may get a room with no view, or you may get a view over the city with a slice of sea. Pleasant room, but poky bathroom only with shower. Similar to staying in a Holiday Inn or so.

The hotel is gorgeous. The staff is great. And the location was perfect. From the balcony, there are great views and the fact that there was a balcony was awesome. Wonderful breakfast is served on the beautiful terrace. Dinner was also wonderful; great food, plenty to fill you up. The hotel is clean, and very elegant. Amazing hotel!! In general, Taormina has problems with power; so the power went out frequently but came back on fairly quickly. A clean and nicely decorated hotel right in the centre of the main shopping street. It could not be more central!
