" Have been to Majorca once before... "

Have been to Majorca once before stayed at Coma Gran in Sa Coma and thought it would be hard to top that.

On arriving with my 3 children and in laws we were greeted with very friendly and helpful staff, we shared 2 rooms which were clean and a good size. We went all inclusive and for a 3star hotel were very pleased with the food and service, the staff were outstanding.

The kids loved the pool and entertainment, this time of year it wasn't too busy but I expect it could get a bit crowded round the pool in peak season.

The beach is only a stone’s throw away and is a lovely little cove one of many but this one I thought was the best (sun beds and shades were expensive to hire) we bought cheap blow up beds there and it worked out better. We spent a lot of time on the beach it was nice and clean and the kids loved it!

If you like shopping you can walk to the centre of Cala D'or its not far with gift shops either side of the one way road and kids areas, restaurants and hotels it’s a lovely walk, you will be forever stopping.

When you get there you will find lots of designer shops where things aren’t to badly priced also burger king which my 4year old wouldn't go past without having a coke or burger, bless him!

Back at the hotel the evening entertainment was good with dancers, singers, a magician, parrot show, and competitions all in all it made for a great relaxing holiday which we all agree we shall have to do again.

If I had to say one bad thing about this holiday it would be that there are too many steps to go up and down to the hotel and beach. I must admit though I came back a lot fitter than I went Ha Ha!

" Hola. Did the big family holiday... "

Hola. Did the big family holiday thing. 8 adults and 3 kids.

Rooms very standard but clean and comfortable, but no air con. Staff very friendly, especially the bar staff.

The bonus of the all inclusive option was fantastic, no queuing for drinks. Different meals in the restaurant every night for a wide range of tastes, always hot and frequently replenished. Could of had a special range for children though as my son hardly ate a thing all the holiday. Surrounding shops and restaurants lovely.

Daily up to date newspapers available in the first shop you come to outside hotel. Lovely walks with beautiful scenery.

Adult evening entertainment was a great mixture for everybody’s taste. Although the entertainment for children could of been better ( just an hour’s disco each night ).

The pool was VERY cold, not as inviting as it looked and we did come into close contact with some opportunist thieves around the pool area on one occasion, but no harm done as he got away with nothing.

Overall a fantastic holiday, and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and we would like to return there in the future ourselves sometime.

" Had a week all inc to celebrate my... "

Had a week all inc to celebrate my sons 16 birthday, wow what a great holiday.

We travelled with my husband and daughter and mum and dad, so 4 adults and 2 children.

The hotel was spotless, food different every day and plenty of it, drinks plentiful and not watered down. Staff great, we tried most of the activities darts, shooting, football, scuba.

The only downside was the pool was a little small for the size of hotel, but a 2 min walk and you’re on the beach, 10 min walk you’re in centre.

We will be going back to this hotel and this resort.

" We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in... "

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in Cala Ferrera, Mallorca. Fantastic location with restaurants nearby, the beach of cala Ferrera and the strip of Cala Ferrera within a 5 minute walk and the centre of Cala Dor also a short walk away.

We booked via the internet with www.islandpropertysolutions.com we had never heard of them previously but they were professional all the way from the initial booking (giving us a telephone call which made it much more personal) to a friendly face on our arrival.

We also had a phone number to contact whilst on holiday should we need anything! The resort itself was quiet (it was out of season) but that was what we wanted as it was a relaxing break to get away from all the bad weather in the uk. We have now booked 14nts in August in the same apartment and of course with the same company, we can’t wait!

" Resort very quite and not much to do,... "

Resort very quite and not much to do, but Cala D’Or just up the road more busy. Suited us a family of 4 (children 11 &12).

Hotel and food very good, entertainment in the hotel was a bit poor but we made the most of it, staff were mostly friendly and hotel was very clean. Hotel was located right on the beach, beach got quite crowded but always found room. The sea was beautiful. We really enjoyed the all inclusive option especially with children who always seem to be eating and drinking!

I though the bar would be crowded all the time but it wasn’t and I never had to queue for a drink really at all. We were all very happy with the choice of food and plenty of snacks available in the afternoon by the pool. We all enjoyed our stay at the Cala Ferreira.

" When we booked the holiday I wasn’t... "

When we booked the holiday I wasn’t sure what to expect as we didn’t get many detail of the hotel or what it would be like, when we arrived we were amazed the hotel was very nice with all the staff being friendly there was 3 lovely pools and a little supermarket in the hotel.

The rooms were basic but livable, the only downfall was there were lots of insects in the room but this was not a big problem also it could have been better if there where more English channels on the TV’s as there was only 1 and this was a 24 hr news channel the rooms were clean and were cleaned every day.

We didn’t try the restaurant in the hotel as it looked bland, instead we went into Ferrera Blanca its self for food, our favourite was Espiga D'or where there was a different set menu every night it was really nice and at a reasonable price, the waiter - Diego was lovely and we became friends with him this restaurant is definitely worth a visit one night another place we liked was the carabel this was a fun pub where there was a happy hr every night 10 till 11!

There was always something going on there and the manager was so funny with all his dancing this place is also worth a visit. Overall our holiday was amazing and we'd recommend it to anyone and we're already considering going back there.

" We were pleasantly surprised, as we... "

We were pleasantly surprised, as we were a little apprehensive as we booked over the Internet and taking 5 children with you was a bit scary. We booked a holiday taxi, which turned out to be a coach and for 7 of us was quite spacious , if not a tad expensive.

When we arrived at Playa Ferrera ,it was a lovely whitewashed area with a palm tree lined road where all the shops and restaurants were. We were about a 5 minute walk from the centre of town, which you accessed through the beach, there was a snack restaurant and a little shop on the beach with plenty of sunbeds and shades. It is quite hilly with lots of steps to climb which made our legs like rocks during our stay , but there was another way to walk which we did a few times past the local spar , they are all over, that was a lovely walk too.

In the town it’s self there is plenty of places to eat and lots of shops and a perfumia, one of our favourite places to eat was Andy’s bar , the staff were very friendly and the food tasty and reasonably priced, although the kids menus were mostly the same in all places.

The staff at the apartments were helpful and gave out lots of info apart from the night porter who couldn’t speak English and our Spanish wasn’t up to much so that made it a bit harder, you can access the internet from the hotel for around a euro for 3 minutes, there was a small pool at the back of our complex and another larger one across the road which was a lot bigger, there was also a restaurant , but that got very busy and we went in October so we used to go into town.

There is also a road train that runs right outside the complex, which takes you on a tour of the area. We took a taxi into Cala Dor one day which cost 5 euros only to find it was quicker to walk Cala Dor is a lovely place with a very nice beach and a big supermarket on the outskirts of town , we thought it took forever but doing a few times it didn’t feel so bad.

The appt was well equipped with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom one en-suite and 2 balconies and patio furniture. The only thing that was missing as a TV which the kids were a bit miffed about , but after a couple of days we all got used to it and were out mostly anyway , but when we came in we played cards and it gave us all a chance to do lots of talking and laughing, and at the complex there was a pool table which our boys were never off, the kids got used to no TV and didn’t mention it after two days but having said that there was a lot of English telly in the town restaurants which shown English soaps and footy which pleased my hubby but not me, but we hardly ever watched it, the kids loved the holiday as we did and they want to go back again this year.
