Osiris Hotel

Booked flights and hotel separately - looking for some sun in May. The Osiris is a great value hotel - just 5 minutes from the centre of SanAntonio centre and at the top end of San Antonio Bay. The Bay does stretch across a huge area and bits of it are quite rundown and sparse in places. We were told it was quieter than normal due to road repairs nearby and tour operators diverting people to other resorts due to the work - which had been finished when we were there. There is not that much to do on the island especially to entertain the kids ( unlike some where like Majorca )
I wanted a place quiet enough to sleep in but close enough to the bars etc. This was a family holiday with a teenager before the clubbers arrived.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, a small terrace and bar, plenty of seating and some sunbeds and a small freezing cold pool, just off a smallish beach- but there are loads near by. The food was varied and hot - and better quality than expected - the rooms over looking the pool had the best views. There is a separate comfy lounge area, with books, magazines, cards, dominoes and internet access.
You can play pool, hire tennis equipment and play volleyball all within the hotel grounds - no car park but loads of free street parking nearby. We hired a car for the week but no matter how hard we tried could not use a full tank of diesel - and we went all over the island several times. Tthere are some beautiful beaches especially on the south west of the island - my favourite was Cala Bassa.
We stopped in a ground floor room 023 - which was huge for 3 people but the patio was completely in shade due to huge plants and trees - i think we may have been among the first to use the room this year so it smelt slightly musty. But the hotel was great value base. Lots of dutch, german and english staying at the hotel and there was one night of entertainment.
