The hotel was lovely. The room was clean and looked like it had recently been decorated. The whole hotel looked freshly painted. We had a sea view which was a nice surprise. The breakfast was fine with a choice of crossiants, bread, jams, omlettes and fried eggs. The... more

Hotel was fine for what we paid. We were lucky enough to have an amazing view of the sea and bay. Lots of choice for breakfast, optional English breakfast for extra charge. Be aware if your planning to cook, there is only a kettle and fridge in your room, we ate out apart... more

Fantastic accommodation! Clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly. This was our third stay and they remembered us immediately. Kefalonia is a beautiful island, very green and peaceful. Even in mid August it is not busy! Lassi Hotel is an excellent base to... more

lassi hotel
just returned on 8th oct 06 from this hotel, the holiday was very enjoyable, the hotel was a let down, there was no bar, or snack bar arround pool, the pool was behind the hotel so it was private but no atmosphere, plenty of sunbeds.if you wanted a drink or the only snack was a toasted roll!! a bit boring, you had to cover up because you had to go into reception!! not far from the main street which was good , lovely beaches near by. i dont think i would stay at this hotel again.
Simple property, clean and functional
We stayed in a studio apartment connected to the Lassi Hotel in Sept 06. The hotel/apartments are located only a five minute walk down a moderate incline from the main strip that makes up Lassi. The nearest beach is a further five minutes away. Most of the beaches are accessed via short steep hills or twisting lanes. Lassi itself is one street with restaurants, tavernas, bars, a few mini markets, car rental /travel offices, and a couple of jewellers. There were couples of all ages, and a few families. There were no lager louts nor crowds of lads or girls. Entertainment nearby consisted of music bars with big screen TVs. For more frantic nightlife or more sophisticated shopping go into the capital Argostoli which is only about 2 miles away (taxi 5 euros each way) You can walk it but it’s up a hill and down the other side. Car hire is the easiest way to see the island at your own pace. Roads and standards of driving are not the best, so stay alert at all times! The hotel has ample car parking on site and has quite a nice pool with free sun loungers. The studio apartment was basic but spacious with a double and single bed. It was quite well equipped, although interior design and layout could only be described as functional. The buildings, particularly the hotel looks a bit shabby from the outside and the surrounding grounds are typical Greek scrubland, flowers and trees. Yes there is an abandoned building foundation nearby but nothing that will detract from your enjoyment. Not all apts have balconies. Previous reviews mentioned the check out time 10am. For those on an evening departure, cases are placed in reception. We had a car and made the most of our last day. We returned to use the Lassi Hotel Apts changing facilities and hot showers just beside the pool to freshen up before our return flight. This was a simple and functional property that was accurately described as 2 star and priced accordingly. We enjoyed it !
You get what you pay for... I liked it alot!
I dont understand what all the moaning is about. People have to understand that you get what you pay for. I went with my partner in the summer. We were greated on arrival and shown to our room. Although the room was a little small, we did have a double bed, dressing table, T.V hairdryer, & shower. From our room we could see the sea and mountains which was lovely. The hotel is in a quiet area, but this is fine as the taxi's are so cheap and are easy to hire from the hotel. The pool was quite small, but witha secluded beach just around the corner who needs a swimimng pool. Maybe it is because my partner is greek that we we're able to communicate alot better - although he didnt really like the hotel as much as I did. They even made the effort to make me chocolate milk even though they didnt have any. The rooms got cleaned everyday - although the maid did just barge into our room whilst we were still sleeping! But we saw the funny side. The only thing I would moan about is that you have to pay a small fee for your fridge and air conditioning! All in all - I would recommend this hotel. Its clean, got a pool, & friendly staff - what more do you need - your only sleeping there, who on earth would spend all day in their hotel room when you have such a lovely place to explore!
Lassi Apartments
We stayed in the Lassi Apartments in the middle of August during their heatwave. The down side is you have to purchase the air conditioning unless you want to fry in the heat. We had a ground floor studio apartment which has the kitchen and bathroom seperate from the sleeping area which was great noise wise. As other reviewers have stated the cleaners came every day but the floor was never washed and if you were going barefoot your feet had to be cleaned before you got into bed. The towels were changed during our week stay. The hotel is at the bottom of a steep hill which is only has 3 street lights in total and can be quite dark until you get used accustomed!! We had no complaints about the accommodation as it suited our needs - we hired a car and toured the island as it is quiet. Argostoli has more variety of restaurants than Lassi and we would recommend Oskar's restaurant which is close to the Lassi Hotel - the food and service was excellent!! If you aren't too picky and want a relatively budget accommodation then this is the place for you.
Lassi Apartments
We stayed at Lassi Apartments & Studios in Kefalonia this July. We booked a studio as at the time of booking all the apartments were gone and I found it a bit claustrophobic to have no separate sleeping area. The accomodation was basic but scrupulously clean and the beds were made every day. Unfortunately a late check-out service was not offered at Lassi apartments which was inconvenient as our flights were late at night. We had to leave our bags sitting about in reception so were unable to even leave to do something for the day. To be fair, we saw the apartments on offer and they were very nice. To summarise: Our accomodation was very clean, but basic and a little cramped. The services offered were scant. I don't think I would stay here again.
could be a lot better!
Kefalonia itself is lovely. Lassi is nice, a bit commercial but, by hiring a car, you can get to see some of the fantastic parts of the island. The Lassi Hotel is a place we would never stay at again. The bar and pool area are fine and breakfast is OK. Location is quite good but not if you have mobility problems as there is a steep hill to get to the main centre. We requested a high floor and pool view and were given a first floor room (there are two higher floors!) with a view of a tree! Upon arrival, I immediately asked the lady at reception to change our room and have never experienced such appalling service. She was downright rude and refused to help us saying the hotel was full. It clearly was not. The room was appalling. The lock on the balcony was broken and, despite asking, was never fixed. Having stayed in Greece before we were aware that standards are not as high as in the UK or other European countries. However, the shower was a tray and the curtain kept breaking. Towels were rarely changed and we had to ask the maids to do this. We heard that some of the rooms in the new annex, which were self-catering, were nice though.
love lassi!
A good clean hotel - but beware if you are not fit or are disabled ! It is a stiff walk up a steep hill to get to the bars and shops, and then a 25 minute stroll (in the midday heat!) to the big beach ( there is one nearer but not as big or as pretty). Argostoli is the capital which is a 20 -25 minute walk up a mountain and then down the other side via the short route - if you go the long way it is flat and picturesque but takes about 2.5 hours!!! The sea in Kefalonia is the bluest of blue, the sun shines and there is always a gentle breeze near the sea. The locals are friendly, and it is not too Costa del Lagerlout. Couples are the main holidaymakers, and mainly English, Dutch and German. English is widely spoken. The one thing I couldn't get my head round though was that you can't flush your loo paper - you have to put it in a pedal bin next to the loo...particularly unpleasant if the former user has had a touch of the jelly belly! However, I have to say that every restaurant toilet I used was spotless. Oh - and if you are afraid of heights and terror runs - don't hire a car! The roads hang off the side of cliffs at rakish angles, and the Greeks drive like maniacs!!! You're lucky if you see any Arnco - and when you do it inevitably has that heartsink buckling in it where some poor sod has smacked into it!!
Lassi go home
This hotel/appartment block could be a lot a better if several scrappy details were tidied up. The pool is OK but bordered by a plot of scrub and weeds. An abandoned buidling site is 30 metres in front of the hotel, the appartments are surrounded by weedy gravel, and the worst thing is that some of the balconies of the appartments have never been finished. Good location, small beach 5 mins walk, bigger, nicer beach 10- 15 mins walk (in front of Mediterannee hotel). Good supermarket 4 mins walk. However its such a nice island, you want to hire a bike and get out and see the place, so it wont spoil your holiday.
There are better places to stay.
Lassi Hotel and Apartments are situated at the Argostoli end of Lassi. They are down a steep hill, which is very dark at night. The view is good only for those on the upper levels of the hotel. It is one of the oldest hotels in Lassi. Our apartment, although extremely clean, was very basic. The beds were of very poor quality, in particular the camper bed, which is to be avoided at all costs. Air conditioning is available locally at €6 per day. Staff at the reception could not have been more un-helpful even if they tried! They were rude, arrogant and did not like being questioned about anything. They certainly were not interested in the customer. The hotel does have a pool but since we are beach people and dont use hotel pools, it would be unfair to comment on it. The hotel is approx 10 mins walk from the nearest beach which got very very crowded on our second week (2nd week August). There are other beachs further away but they all looked similar to us. The water was very clean but the sun loungers were of a very poor standard on several of the beach's. We hired a car during our second week and found some lovely beach's & villages around the coast. Skala was lovely and well worth a visit on the very south of the island. If you want to see how the other half lives you can sit and watch the yachts and cruisers pull into Fiskardho on the north end of the island. The X1 beach south of Lisouri was also lovely. Mirthos beach, although quite famous was quite dangerous for swimming. While we did enjoy ourselves and certainly had a relaxing holiday, we had to make our own fun. We did meet some arrogant Greek people which did surprise me especially since they were all complaining that tourism was well down. If anyone is considering going to Kefelonia, unless you get a great bargain in the Lassi hotel, there are far better places to stay very close by
Not too bad!
Spent two weeks staying in this hotel and had a really great time. It's in a quiet and peaceful location but not too far away from the centre of Lassi and only a 30min stroll or 5min taxi ride from the island capital Argostoli, which is lovely. There is a small beach nearby which gets very full so this hotel may not be ideal for beach lovers - the main Lassi beach is a 20min walk away. There is a secluded beach infront of the hotel but it is a steep climb down to it which is not recommended for children or people who struggle with climbing. If you get down there it is very quiet and a lovely place to snorkel. As for the hotel itself, like so many Greek properties it is in need of some improvement. It is an excellent budget hotel and the rooms are bright and not too small. The small kitchenette serves it purpose and the bathroom is adequate. The pool area is a nice place to sunbathe although it too needs a bit of improvement - there were a few cracked slabs and an area of undeveloped land which could be utilised so much better as additional sunbathing areas. The pool is a nice size and brings a welcome break from the hot Greek summer heat! There were enough sunbeds for those wanting to sunbathe and a bar serving drinks, sandwiches, ice creams and snacks. The hotel even has its own duck, well we think that's what it was (it was black, white with red beak and it looked like a duck)!! He likes to help you eat your lunch and have a swim with u in the pool - he's very friendly and will eat out of your hands. All in all this was a lovely holiday. I would recommend Kefalonia and Lassi to anyone and everyone for a good taste of Greek life and a fun summer holiday. There are nicer properties to stay in but this is good for what you pay for it. Younger people who do not plan to spend much time in the hotel will probably appreciate this more than people who plan to spend their whole holiday around the hotel pool. I give it 3/5 rating but i give the island and resort and big thumbs up 5/5!! Hope this helps...
