Grand Hotel Dino

Stayed at the Hotel Grand Dino in Baveno Italy during April. This is a Grand Hotel of which we were catered for elegantly with courtesy. Although the rooms were not lake facing and we had a room facing the mountains I believe we could have paid extra and moved to a lake facing room although the views of the mountains were marvelous. Rooms well sized with good furniture. Pillows a little hard but that was resolved by asking the maid for softer ones. No Italian from us but she tried hard to understand and succeeded. The Grand Hotel Dino is really GRAND with a super position directly overlooking the lake. in the morning you can enjoy from your balcony a spectacular sun dawn The service is excellent, the staff very helpfull and all the sports facilities are very well equipped I would like also let you know that Baveno is on Lake Maggiore, lake district but it is in PIEDMONT and not Lombardy! so if you organize your trip you will know where to go! For suru I'll return with my family for a relaxing holiday!

Hotel Dino has all the comfort and facilties you would expect of a 4 star hotel with one big exception. The hospitality! During my stay here in October 2006 I was treated absolutely disgracefully by the staff and manager. I have never been made less welcome in any Hotel anywhere in the World. Christopher James

oGood location if you must stay in Baveno, although I’d recommend staying in Stresa if you can. Walking distance to a few shops and restaurants and very close to the best Gelato in the area. Don’t remember the name, but it’s right on the corner in front of the hotel and the boat dock. oI stayed in room 142 which had a twin bed and a view of the roof over the restaurant and bar. This hotel is right on the lake. It has indoor and outdoor swimming pools and jacuzzi with lake view. So there was something to do even if the weather was not perfect. Sauna and turkish bath cost extra. Our family room (for 4) was very nice, with a dream view from the large balcony. Hotel was having a special promotion, so the price was comparable to that of 3 star hotels in the same region. We ended up staying an extra two nights because the kids liked it so much. We would go back again.

We have returned at the Grand Hotel Dino in Baveno after 3 years. What a surprise! The Hotel has been completely restructured, amazing! but the charme and the friendly atmosphere of the Zacchera Hotels have been intact. The bedroom was very comfortable, with boiseries and wooden floor, the view from the balcony impresside with the lake and the islands, the bathroom has been another pleasant surprise, refurbished with fine marbles and mosaics. We stayed at the Grand Hotel Dino around November 4-5. The hotel itself was fantastic ( Beautiful rooms, excellent lake view, clean, many ammenities). We found the food average..except for breakfast. It was excellent We were part of a tour group of 40. We had one common complaint: The waiter with the goatee. He was terrible. He acted as if he was doing us a great big favour. We complained about him..Except for him, we foud the hotel excellent. Would stay there again

Beautiful hotel overlooking the lake and Isola Bella. Good location in Baveno. Wonderful rooms and fantastic property including pool, tennis courts and art gallery. The food was very good as well. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

We stayed in Grand Hotel Dino for two nights in September 2005 and my expectations were not too high as I had read reviews on tripadvisor before we left. It was a large unattractive building facing on to a beautiful lake. The views were spectacular, but the hotel was such a disappointment. We had to almost beg for attention when we arrived, the rooms were all the same and very plastic. You just had a feeling that you were a number in a huge hotel and I got no sense of being in a beautiful part of Italy.

We stayed at the Dino as part of a tour package. The lobby and grounds of this hotel are superior. The room and bath were both clean and very nice. The pool was pleasant yet the hot tub spa water was only luke warm which was dissappointing since it has a beautiful view of the lake from a glass front patio.
