Prisank Hotel Reviews
" From the moment we arrived in... "
Submitted By: Mrs T WARD
From the moment we arrived in Kranjska Gora we fell in love with the place. The hotel is right in the middle of the lovely quaint little village. We had a nice balcony over looking the streets and church. The room was nice - would def use this hotel again, hopefully in the skiing season.
" I stayed for 7 nights with my wife... "

I stayed for 7 nights with my wife and daughter in this hotel. There are a number of issues.........
Although advertised as accommodating 2-4 people per room there is only 1 double bed and the extra accommodation is offered via a sofa bed. In our room this sofa bed was hard, uneven and creaked with every movement. We had to complain to get a proper 3rd bed placed in the room.
The temperature can reach the high 20s or low 30s in summer yet there is no air conditioning. This would not be such a great problem if it was possible to open the balcony door to get the cool evening air. Unfortunately the close proximity of the hotel to the church in the village centre makes opening the balcony door, at night time, impossible as the bells chime every 15 minutes 24 hours per day. Yes every 15mins !! The chimes can last for up to 5 mins at certain hours so you only have 10 mins respite before they start again. So you have the choice - be cool but awake all night or try and sleep in a very hot bedroom.
The meals also require some comment. Breakfast is a buffet which is fair enough, however the quality of the cooked food is not that good for some items. For example the fried eggs were burnt brown and served cold. The evening meal is again a buffet with some cooked items, especially the vegetables, not being properly cooked. For a 4 star hotel this is just not good enough.
On the plus side the staff were friendly and our complaint about the sofa bed was attended to after complaining a couple of times.
I do not know the criteria for awarding stars to hotels in Slovenia but in the UK this hotel would be rated as 2+ or 3 at the very most.

" My stay at the Grand hotel Prisank... "
Submitted By: Miss Jeras
My stay at the Grand hotel Prisank was overall enjoying, it's the best value for money I have ever experienced and I have been in a lot of hotels. The hotel really is in the center and it's new. Now is the time to go, because they have low rates (we paid 49 euros per person for halfboard, with that you get an amazing room with a nice view, free connection to internet, TV, fridge, free stay at the 200m distant Larix hotel pool, free enterance to casino-you get free 4euros to spend, and free slipers in the room.) Plus lots of activities, because of the freshly fallen snow (70cm). The dinner and breakfast were great, loads of choice, it's impossible to eat cheaper elsewere. All in all, great experience if you want to be pampered and not feel like you're being riped off.
