Panas Hotel Reviews
" We hired a car for the week and drive... "
Submitted By: Miss N Flaxman
We hired a car for the week and drive from Argostoli airport to our hotel in Spartia.
It's well sign posted and although the roads are quite skinny and windy, there are so few cars on the roads, that it is easy to get used to.
The Panas hotel was perfect, very clean and in a beautiful location amongst woodland.
We drove each day (the best way to get around) and I highly recommend a beach called Avythos, near Koukemelata. It's not in any guide books, but is probably the best beach we found.
Day trip along the coast road North to Myrtos Beach is also well worth doing. Although from up high it looks stunning, it's actually small white stones and very sparce when you get down to it.
Also visit the Melissani cave - truly beautiful.
Disappointed with Lassi - very touristy and slightly tacky.
Sami also v disappointing and feels very far away from anywhere.
Great weather, peaceful beaches, lovely food and a very natural and untouched feel- so generally, a beautiful island and would definatlely recommend visiting, 10 days would be better than 7 if you want to see everything.

The family run business really feels like home from home. Nothing is too much for them, and their hard work, friendliness and hospitality never went unnoticed on a daily basis. The rooms were kept absolutely spotless with clean towels every day.
The food is absolutely superb and the Chicken Mushroom dish is highly recommended. The beautiful, small secluded beach is literally 2 minutes walk away. It is not over run with tourists (thank goodness !?) and I perfected my miniscule greek with the very friendly locals.
You "drown" in the peace of the location and its' setting (so this will obviously not appeal to those wanting riotous and loud holidays). For us, our holiday in PANAS was truly paradise, miles and miles away from the stressful, hectic lives we lead in our home country. THE BEST TONIC EVER and we have already booked our return trip.
