Just got back from Kusadasi, it was great, we stayed at the Batihan hotel on long beach, about 6km from the centrum.15 min on the Dolmus. It was quit a nice hotel, full of Dutch and Belgians we were the only British family staying there. Not that it was a problem as most of them spoke English, and they were all very nice. We went the first two weeks in October and the weather was hot hot hot, it did get a little bit chilly in the evenings though.
The staff at the hotel were mostly very friendly and helpful with the exception of one or two barmen who never smiled the two weeks we were there,( I suppose that’s to be expected, as they work long hours ) our rooms were cleaned daily and the bed had a different design on it you even get rose petals sprinkled on your sheets, how cool is that. One small criticism about the room there was not a lot of storage space for your clothes, my two boys and my daughter were on the first floor and there rooms were huge as was my sisters room on the fifth floor ,so make sure you ask for a big room if you go there.
The food was very good and hot provided you go early, there was always a good variety to choose from, breakfast was ok mainly continental cheese cold ham cereals and sometimes fried eggs, the presentation of the sweet table at lunch time was something else, it must have taken the staff ages to arrange it.
The hotel; itself is situated on long beach right next door to the Ephesia hotel, opposite the hotel is a small mini market restaurant, hairdressers, and bar, try a haircut when you go its about 6 pounds plus you get a small arm and neck massage well worth it .the Dutch bar opposite the hotel is also very popular after the all/inc stops, you can drink there as long as you want.
The hotel grounds were quit well maintained apart from the crazy golf which could do with a complete overhaul. The beach was ok nothing special, if you want a mattress for your sunbed it will cost 2tl a day.
Sorry I cant comment on the a la carte as it never opened the two weeks we were there.
They do have a nice Turkish bath ,gym, and sauna room, if you want to go for a sauna be warned if you are all/inc you can only use it free between 13 30 & 15 30pm,all other times will cost you 10 euros.
They also have a jewellers and a small gift shop in reception
Where the girl who runs it speaks very good English,
Tennis courts were ok, the pool table was in good condition but it did not have any pockets, maybe they play different in turkey .....who knows??
One small point if the weather gets bad the reception area is not big enough to accommodate all the guests.
One more thing before I go ,if you visit Kusadasi make sure you go to the Turkish night (the caravanserai) its well worth a visit and an excellent night all round. We didn’t get to the opera in Ephesus but we did hear good reports about it, well that’s it for another year, my overall view of the Batihan is 3*plus not quit up to 4* standards yet, but a nice hotel none the less.
My whole family really enjoyed there stay at the Batihan.
