We just stayed at this hotel could recommend it. Granted it is not a four star but more like a 3, but it is clean, comfortable and friendly. The room was a family room which was very large and clean. The maid came every day and we had clean bath sheets and bedding regularly. Would recommend you take a bath plug as they are not provided, as standard. The food was pretty good and none of us had stomach upsets. It was mainly restricted to beef chicken or fish and the breakfasts were a bit limited but we always managed to find something to eat. We didn't need to eat out of the hotel. The turkish bath in the hotel is brilliant and certainly an experience not to be missed as I enjoyed the pampering. The hotel and entertainment staff were brilliant, especially with my young children. I will admit that I booked the hotel before reading the previous reviews and was very worried about going, but on arrival we were pleasantly suprised. The hotel has certainly got its act together and is under new management. There was no mould in the bathroom or loose wires etc. as I had previously read. The staff were great and the hotel was clean and in a good location. The food was limited but that's ok if you are not fussy and like chicken! The only downfall was that the AI drinks menu was quite limited to efes beer, wine, local brandy, gin, vodka, raki and soft drinks, and the AI bar closed at 11pm. Overal I enjoyed staying at the hotel and would recommend it.

stayed here almost six months ago and still troubled by the illnesses it gave use - sevear dioreah and sickness, ear infections ....... need I go on - have had ear infection upon ear infection since we got back and am now beginning to loose my hearing in that ear!!! - also have not been able to eat beef since then as I always get dioreah when i do - major bugs in stomach from turkey!!! food was very poor often heated up from previouse meal or day!!! glasses were rinced in cold water not washed!! lifts braking down and not fixed untill next day - mother in law of 63 and 2 new hips had to walk up to the 4th floor on a regular basis got stuck in lift 3 times and we were left there for 20 min to 1 hour!!! if you book more than one room DO NOT expect to be next door to eachother or even on the same floor - we had 3 rooms, the floors are in a 'L' shape and 1 room was ate the top of the 'L', the other at the 'elbow' and the other at the end - we were opposite ends from our 2 children of 13 and 15!!! - would not move use!! maid clean at any hour of the day OR NIGHT!! and are not quiet about it - slamming around, shouting up and down the corridors etc... locals laughed when we told them which hotel we were stopping in it is known as the hospital hotel - which quite a few guests had to visit whilst we were there!! air con does not work - can blow colder air!!!! un-covered wires IN (light hanging off!!!) and around the pool area as well as in our rooms and bathrooms!!! mold all in the bathrooms (in all 3 rooms) entertainment was repetative to say the least if you spend 20 min in the reception area you will see a constant stream of guests complaining - not just british people but people of all nationalities, even the turkish people were complaining!!! - so it must be bad!!! our safe door broke on the 2nd day and the door was taken off to be fixed - we were told it would be back by the next day but we never saw it again!!! the best part of our holiday - besides coming home - was the trips, they got use out, well away from the hotel for the day, and we knew we would get good food on those days. also huge gaps under doors up to 1.5 inch!! door handles hanging off wall lights hanging off would never go to Turkey again because of these experiences

Stayed for 2 weeks july 2006, husdand, myself & two kids, they charged for the wrist bands, which was refundable at end of stay, providing you did not lose them, they also charged for the safe in bedroom which was really expensive, we only had it for one week although we were there for two weeks, our bedroom was quite big, but air conditioning did not work, there was no windows that we could open, as they opened into the upstairs corridor, although we complained, it was not fixed, neither was the bath which leaked terribly every time, you had a shower, you had to put down lots of towels to soak up the water. small fridge in room, which did not work either. Bedroom and bathroom quite shabby, cleaners did come in every morning and tidy and make the beds, when they left clean towels they would leave them on the bed in different shapes, sometimes they would be in a shape of a chicken or a flower or bread which was quite nice. Food was not to bad ,although my husband had diarrhoea for about 10 days. Trips with hotel rep were a rip off, could get them alot cheaper outside. Boat cruise trip with rep disaster, yet same boat cruise trip booked outside hotel, on different boat was brill. Last four days of holiday a large group of dutch lads, late teens, arrived, which spoiled the end of our holiday, as they were bombing the pool and throwing a ball really roughly and hitting other holiday makers. Some of the entertainment guys were quite cheeky and thought they could help themselves to my husband cigerettes. Will not be returning to the Park Metropol Hotel in the future or even turkey. And i would not recommend this hotel, to a friend, maybe to my worst enemy .

I stayed at this hotel in the summer of 06 for a week adn informed by the Goldtrail the travel agent that the property was a four star accommodation. It is not even close! The food at the hotel at best is awfult and the service from staff is bad as the majority cant speak and english. We had blood on the curtains and air conditioning is tiny box in the room which takes about two hours to get the room at least bearable. I have read the comments in the guest book and everyone says the same for what looks like years. I truly think this hotel is one of the worst we have stopped in. The customer service from goldtrail was also not the best but i wont go into that. PS i am not a moaner the is the first thing i have ever put up on the internet of this nature

Just came back from this hotel and had a lovely time. It is fair to say that it is not a 4 star hotel, but it was clean and tidy and well placed within Icmeler. The food was very nice - traditional Turkish food so steaks and cooked breadfasts were not available, but there were always two or three meat dishes to choose from together with a wide array of vegetables and salads. The rooms were basic, but were cleaned every day and were very pleasant. To be fair, I paid full price for this holiday, and it was not expensive even then... with this hotel you get what you pay for - if you want a higher class of hotel, you will have to pay more to go somewhere else. If you want a cheap and cheerful hotel, this is the one. I would go back....

I 've travel around the world, but this hotel was a let down,the 4 star hotel should have been a two star, and the ai food was disgusting. You felt like you was a thief going to the bar, the staff were very ignorant when serving you. The evening meal was being prepared one hour and a half before being served, and raw meat was mixed in with cooked meat, although they did wear rubber gloves. I was ill with diarhorrea as well as my friend. I'll never go again and don't advise anyone else to stay there too.

Well im just back and was'nt let down,the food was alright the beer on ofter was effes and it was served nice and cold you could get any shorts you wanted.the hotel was clean roooms were cleaned every day staff were very helpful and the twon itself was very entertaining the local are all very welcoming and all around had nice scenery the only thing i didnt like was when i pushed a subcontractor poolcleaner into the pool 4 a laugh he when and got the police who were about to arrest me unless i give him money to pay for a stupid mobile phone he claimed was broke but i checked his phone myself and it was working"fly man no SoH" Apart from that i would go back i had a nice time ps james from Belfast.

We booked two weeks in the middle of September at The Abacus Metropol Hotel, because it was all inclusive with air-conditioning and central location. The truth of the matter is that the air conditioning in most rooms is very noisy but fails to reduce the room temperature even when full blast. The food was repetative and after a week of the same turkish caserole, meatballs, etc we ended up eating out a lot, where the selection of food was better. If you do not request a balcony when you check in - you will not get one, our view was of a wall and corragated iron roofing - lovely !. Many people complained of upset tummies, because as they cooked the food at 5pm then served at 7.30pm the flies loved it! The bathroom was mouldy because the shower leaked over the bathroom floor and you are not allowed a plug for either the bath or the sink. The bar shuts at 11pm sharp, but you can then pay for the drinks, even though it is all inclusive ! The pool had a black scum mark around the edge, so I decided not to try it. The beach was excellant - clean with one section of the beach sectioned for the use of our hotel clients, with free sunbeds. The sea was clear and warm. The resort was pleasant and would go back to the resort, but not this hotel. Would rate more like a 2 star not the advertised 4 star. Also we went with Goldtrail who use ONUR airways - which is the one in last weeks paper that the pilot resigned and stated do not fly with this company as the aeroplanes are unsafe. The boat trips are better and cheaper if booked direct at the beach or in the resort and not with your rep. If you like SCUBA be careful - make sure you go with the PADI one, even though slightly more expensive - I had concerns on safety.

The resort is a beautiful place and i would go again but I'd go self catering next time The Hotel we checked in and straight away had to hand over 75yts for wrist bands The holiday we booked and paid for was described as follows: 4 star all-inclusive holiday with free ice creams, bar snacks, soft drinks, and free pool table, with free local wines beers, and spirits, from 10.am until 12 midnight. The room we booked was to have balcony, air conditioning, with fridge, and mini bar, with hair dryer in the bathroom. What we got was at best described as a 1/2 star hotel with no free ice creams or bar snacks and the pool table cost 8yts you could buy the ice creams at the cost of 2.50yts with the bar times was 10.am until 11.pm and if you wanted a local whiskey you had to pay for it all drinks were served in plastic beakers that had seen better days they were all coarse jaggered and would cut your lip while drinking the air conditioning was practically none existent the fridge did not work and gave off more heat than anything else and there was no mini bar and the hair dryer did not work at all and on 4 occasions our beds were not made and 5 occasions we did not get fresh towels even some of the hotel staff told us it was only a 1 star hotel and this was backed up by local shop owners. In the restaurant: We as a Family found it almost impossible to find food we could eat we had very little to eat in the restaurant mainly cereal, toast, and soups with little bits and pieces here and there to tide us over. They even advertised full English breakfast and Sunday roast at a cost with free transport for kids to there golden beach restaurant. The entertainment: Listening to the same 2 CD’s every day and the same dance 3 times a day to the same songs just is not entertainment or the killer pool which you have to pay 10yts for and the entertainer pocketed half the money or the bingo which you have to pay 15yts for and third rate entertainers who performed for 20 minuets and then come around the tables asking for money none of this is entertainment it’s extortion you could go to the beach party on a Saturday night but that would have cost us 115yts we brought our 10 year old Daughter and there was nothing for her to do at all. In the hotel you would see the odd electric socket hanging off the wall doors had come off in peoples hands the lift had broken down several times with people in them I and over a dozen others had ear infections and over 60 cases of diarrhoea including me, my wife, and little girl and there was 1 case of dysentery And also be careful when checking out when we handed the key and wrist band back over the receptionist only gave me 50yts back I told him we had been made to pay 75yts we argued for a bit and he gave me my money this he tried with other guest too. The Staff in general where at best miserable and would ignore you if possible and did not want to be there and gave the impression that they did not want you there either IN SHORT DON'T STAY HERE

Stayed at this hotel september 2006. Hotel clean. Staff friendly Room cleaned daily Food nice Location nice Entertainment staff friendly WE are a couple in our late forties and we both enjoyed our stay. The hotel could do with a bit of a re vamp but as i say clean & friendly . We had to pay £10 each deposit for our wrist bands but this is refundable on departure. The manager on front reception had to be put in her place but you always get one dont you.
