The Management of the Monta Verde Hotel has changed since we where last there in 2007. The staff and the new management are trying hard to make significant changes to the overall hotel and services to improve the holiday makers experience. My Husband and I are delighted to report that Barkin Sonia and the respective joint partners are providing a good service to their clients. We made several suggestions about the provision of room services for famillies in the villas which would be good if you didnt fancy going out and dragging the kids out for a meal when you first arrived. We also suggested that a Turkish bath and spa package could be offered at a competive price. We noticed that the actual hotel had a outdoor makeover which made the whole pool area lovely. The people are very friendly - and meals are available at the restraunts and snack bars. (Not perfect but getting there) Also Entertainment is provided every evening again not to everyones taste but its there which is an improvement from 2007. We will be returning to Monta Verde in May 2010 to see our new friends.... If you dont want to run a tab you can settle up every day at Reception at 12 noon it helps to keep an eye on your budget ... So please give this hotel another chance.!
Fantastic holiday from paulaandpat
My husband daughter and I stayed at the Monta Verde from 24August to 4 September. From the minute we got there the hotel had a really good vibe. The holiday was fantastic and we are definitely going back next year. The rooms were basic but enough for what we wanted and plenty of room. The food was very nice and to be honest was all we needed to chill out in the hotel most days and nights. The staff were absolutely fantastic and a big hello goes out to Erol, Sonia, Nihan and Barkin who maked sure that every day was a fun day. We really felt like we had made some good friends there and were very sad to leave. The pool was fab and we were hardly out of it, and there was a lovely garden if you needed to sit in the shade. Entertainment was great with some great nights, especially the Turkish night. Erol's darts tournaments were legendary and I dont know how he managed to give everybody a nickname and remember them all. (Mine was Boss lady)!!! All the staff couldn't do enough for you and it was nice that they would come over and have a chat with you. Boris the manager was great and very helpful, and so was the lady on reception (sorry can't remember your name) The owner ws always around ready for a chat. Honestly I cannot heap enough praise on this hotel. It is very rare that we go somewhere twice, but will definitely be back next year. With best wishes to you all, Pat, Paula and Christine. Verde Good!! from Lazyman1
This was our second stay at the Monta Verde, and we loved it just as much the second time round. This is fantastic value for money. I have read some of the more negative reviews of this hotel, and think that if these people did more research into the other hotels in this area, they would realise that this is one of the better ones, if not the best. Yes the rooms are a little small, but all the hotels have been built in a similar style so you wont get more unless you pay a lot more! Also, this hotel provides a fridge, TV, hairdryer, air conditioning at only £2.50 a day (cheaper than a lot of other hotels in Turkey) and a small balcony for every room. The rooms are extremely clean, the maids work really hard, as do all the staff here. Erol and Sonia are great for getting everyone together, and the bar staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel is such good value for money, and has the best pool in ovacik/hisaronu. They have also added hammocks and bean bags to the pool area this time, and have all new tables and chairs. Also, there are many lilo's, floats and balls already at the hotel, just another bonus really. We stayed b and b both times, and this year the variety for breakfast was much better - the owner and manager are trying really hard to make people happy and it really shows as they can't help you enough. Breakfast now varies from the usual Turkish fare of feta cheese and yoghurt, to boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, beans, potato wedges, cheese and tomatoes, sausages and american style pancakes - speak to anyone staying anywhere else in Turkey and they wont have this much selection for breakfast at the rate they charge! We had lunch at the hotel quite a few times, as it is really really good - huge sandwiches from between 4-9 lira. I would definitely recommend the bacon sandwich! All the reception work really hard too, all the staff work so hard and seem to be there 24/7! Adem, Kemal and Erol speak great English too, and Sonia herself is English, so if you need any advice on the area or have any problems they can help you immediately. This is quite possibly the best location in Ovacik, right on the main road, so you can get a dolmus really easily to either fethiye, hisaronu, kaya koy or olu deniz. We often walked into Hisaronu though, as it's about 900m away, but a pleasant walk past the shops and bars on the way. A lot of the hotels in ovacik and hisaronu are up very steep hills so beware! We have stayed twice and have never been overcharged for anything at this hotel - if you are worried about the receipt system then go and settle your bill at the end of each day - there is always someone on reception! Basically, we'll definitely be going back to the Monta Verde, and if you don't go expecting the Hilton when you're only paying about £15 a night then you'll have a great time! A big thanks to all the staff at the Monta Verde, from Adam and Zoe.
montaverde lovely hotel great entertainment from corrolla
arrived late & tired after delays in the airport, 1am in the morning got a warm & effiecient welcome from the reception. At the same time baris the hotel manager came to welcome us, shaking hands & offering us the chance to see him at anytime if need required. the rooms are adequate with air conditioning, the following morning sat by the nice very clean pool, enjoying the surroundings. This was the start of an excellent holiday for both of us, Errol the entertainment manager took control of the day with entertainment for all. Both errol & sonia his wife create a warm & relaxed atmosphere, errol the entertainer , SONIA the perfect backup to him , also excellent liason for the guest. They create the opportunity for guest to mix which also goes into the excellent night time entertainment. This is backed up by a very accomplished & welcoming staff . We have booked for next year while we was there due to enjoying the hotel so much , so thanks to bloody errol & sonia (the turkish & english mix) & baris his staff ,see you next year , DAVE & LOUISE (LITTLE MAN & HIS BOSS)

I really enjoyed my holiday at Monta Verde, the location was really good because the hotel is in a quiet area of the village and then u can just take a 15 minute walk down to where all the nightlife is. All of the staff are very friendly to the guests, and they provide good entertainment for both adults and children. We stayed in a family room for 4, it wasn't very spacious but we managed to cope with it as we only used the room for sleeping. I would love to come on another holiday to this hotel as we all had such a good time!

Accomodation very tired and basic, food was ok for first 2 days but was the same old stuff regurgitated form the previous day - yuk! The staff made the hotel, they were friendly welcoming and excellent with children expecially Erol and Sonia - worth a try if you dont mind basic accomodation but would advise to go b and b and eat out! This was a more of a one star hotel and not a 3 star as indicated. No where to sit in the rooms,no tea making facilities. A two bedroom apartment is just that and a bathroom. No more no less. No lift so if disabled dont bother. Pool was very clean and could not be faulted. If you go i would advise you check and pay your bill daily. No money is passed over as it is all put on a tab.Some unscrupulous people tried to put stuff on our tab. The staff were excellent in sorting both our bill and these people out. If you want a cheap holiday then this is your place. If you want more then go elsewhere.
MONTA VERDE 2009 - FAB!! from TequilaDave
This was our second stay at the Monta Verde hotel (to be honest we don't normally go to the same place twice) and this holiday was equally as good as last year. The owners, management and staff are very welcoming and they can't do enough for you. They all mix with the guests which is so nice. The accommodation is basic but very clean, rooms cleaned every day. The housekeepers do an excellent job. The entertainment both throughout the day and on an evening is good, aqua-arobics being a personal favourite (touch your toes), with something different on every night. The Turkish night is particularly good. The food is of a good standard and very reasonably priced with a good selection of lunchtime meals. Our 3 kids just love this place. Ideal for children of all ages. Our 17 year old daughter loves the nightlife of Hisaronou and once again she made loads of new friends. Hisaronou is a 20 minute walk away where there is a variety of restaurants and bars. There is a small funfair, go-karts, trampolines and bouncy castles for the younger kids There are plenty of gift shops and supermarkets. Just like to say a big thank you to Barkin the owner and all the staff, Baris (manager) Barkin (Bar Manager and legend) Kubi, Nihan, Erdam, Bloody Erol, Sonia (Who is English and sorts things out if you get stuck) Tammy and the rest of the team, also to the housekeepers and chefs keep up the excellent work and we will see you all next year (twice infact as we are going back in May and August). stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks in August, the only down side to the holiday is staying half board. Erol, Sonia, Barrkin, Kubilay and all the staff all work so hard and tried to keep everyone entertained which Bloody Erol done an amazing job, (GIVE THEM A PAY RAISE THEY EARN IT), Bora give up dancing you ve got no rythymn lol. Will be going back to Turkey but not to the Monta verde. They need to sort out the half board menu as this was the only let down for me, if it wasnt for Erol,Sonia and the others i would have wanted to move hotel....... P.S HOWS YOUR SISTERS EROL. Dangerous footing to be found around the pool from Tudzie
Be VERY careful when walking around the pool as it is extremely slippery! Not a day went by without a guest or two falling and either bruising or cutting themselves. Staff were extremely friendly. Love BloodyErrol!
Perfect hotel for couples and families! from rofers
The hotel was really clean and in a beautiful location- right near beach (olu deniz famous beach) and nightlife (Hisaruno) The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The only thing we found a bit disappointing was the food (especially breakfast) there wasn't a lot on offer, but then it wasn't the end of the world for us. Definately would go again! Excellent hotel!
