Lagoon Hotel Reviews
" Good position, shame about some of the staff "
Submitted By: cmlI would definitely go back to Hisaronu but would not recommend this hotel.
Advice: A wide choice of nightlife to suit all tastes. Just a short bus drive from Olu Deniz beach
Activities: Best bar - Alfrescoes
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Mr D A BrooksHisaronu is a brilliant mountainous resort with wide, pedestrianised roads (at night) for all manner of dining and entertainment without being loud and tacky - great for families and couples alike. The Lagoon Hotel was typical of many, with low-rise accommodation (nothing in Turkey seems to be above 3 floors) and a large pool surrounded by a wide, marbled pool side. The bar is welcoming and the the young staff can't do enough for you, including Turkish massage and a shave! The Hotel location is ideal too, being only 5 minutes from the extensive town centre but quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. It must be said, however, that the rooms are quite basic and hot water can be a bit hit or miss. The bedding is minimalist too. We would certainly go back to Hisaronu though as it is a great base for exploring the region and very relaxing!!

Submitted By: Mrs G JacksonThe hotel was amazing, very clean, rooms are basic with a balcony but we were only ever in our room to sleep and shower, we very extremely happy with the room which had lovely views over the mountains which you could watch the paragliders. The pool was a good size with plenty of sun beds so no need to get up at 6am just to put your towels on to reserve a bed, water polo was played a couple of times. Breakfast was nice, bread, jams, fruit, eggs etc. We had lunch every day at the hotel which was really nice from pizzas, salads, sandwiches etc which were very well priced, the bar staff were brilliant, the music was never played too loud and the staff never hasseled you, they were very polite and helpful. The locoation was the best, only a 5 min nice walk to the centre but far enough away to not here the night life etc.
The weather was fantastic very hot during the day and nice and cool in the evenning. We went to the beech just once this time, just because we were so happy and relaxed by the pool and we enjoyed spending our days here. There are a couple of posters in the hotel which states you can't bring in food or drink, but unlike the marcan your bags are never searched and no questions are ever asked when you walk past reception with carrier bags, so many people did buy water etc in the town and even at breakfast time some families brought orange juice and cereal from town but nothing was ever said to them, i brought a roll from the sea side and brought back and ate by the pool!!
Its a shame we only stayed for a week, next year my husband has promised me we can go for two weeks!! I would reccommend this hotel very highly, it is a very clean, safe, friendly, relaxing, fun hotel, we truly did have the best time thanks to the lagoon.

Submitted By: s.ji stayed for 14 nights and perhaps that was my first mistake. we were charged a fortune to stay in one room. all 4 of us were in the same room with practically all of the beds lined up near enough touching. the babies cot was actually wedged in between the bed and the wall. it was not very clean and i actually hated putting my 4 month old in a dirty cot.
there was no way of washing my baby as i couldnt very well get him in the shower. they lent me the smallest bowl int he world and i washed him in this.
the hot water had to be run for about 15 mins before hot water came through. we were offered air conditioning at a price of course and said no. the man at reception looked at us as though we wer crazy.... it was september and it gets quite cold at night. we did not need air con.
we needed a fridge for the baby and were charged a stupid price for this. we only booked it for one week and they left it in there for the second week so it is all good. the food became very repititive, which it will do on holiday but it wasnt high quality.
the toilet was utterly horrendous and was not ever cleaned properly. it was just so awful. to be crude ther was a flattened poo at the bottom of the bowl the entire time. i bought some bleach but it didnt shift.
i found the people round the hotel were nice but also could be quite sarcastic and rude in their own language. we ate at the hotel once in the evening and i wouldnt recommend it again. they had no customers so would not stop coming over and "chatting" to us... some of them were very rude while the younger ones were nice.
there are a group of children who hang around the pool and took my litle boys ball. we only discovered they had it when my partner was having a kick about with them and they got our ball out to play with because it was better... cheeky theiving brutes!
all in all we had a good time because we paid enough for it but it was not for the stay in the hotel all 4 of us squashed into a room smaller then my bedroom!
i also dropped my camera and needed a rep report and i have never met such a rude rep in my life. she had a go at me because i didnt come to the welcome meeting... i thought it was my holiday which i paid for myself and as i had been here on my own before i didnt need her being so rude. she truely was an awful lady
dont go here is my recommendation. hisaronu, olu deniz, fetiyhe and calis beach are gorgeous places but do not stay here... there are nicer places just up the road x

Submitted By: Miss R Lowthorpewhen entering the room we where slightly disappointed as they are small and the bathroom had a small shower which we wasnt very keen on. but at the end of the day it is a 2* hotel. but going out of the hotel and looking around it was gorgeous! everything was amazing. met the cleaning lady and she was great made our room perfect in the end giving clean towels everyday and special surprise for us coming back to the room leaving flowers on the bed. This is the best holiday i have ever had, this was the first time going to turkey and i loved every minute of it. this is why me and my best friend are going back to lagoon in august this year. the staff are the best, anything you want they will do. Jamie who works there great guy, had such a laugh with him.
go to lagoon and i promise you, it will be a holiday to remember!

The BreakFast Was Ok , with bread and different jams.Boiled Eggs,Melon,And Fruit And Tea.Went Down Well I No Its Only A Bed And Breakfast But They Also Serve All Day,With Fabulous Prices for lunch and dinner. The First Night We Had Dinner There And It Was Great,We Actually Prefered Eating There Then In The Town.
The Hotel Is Small But Sweet With The Right Number Of Staff And The Right Number Of People Staying There With In July-August 20-30 People There. Its Also Good Because Theres So Little People Staying You Know EveryOne There.
There Pool Area Is Clean Onced Used With A Beautiful Fountain In The Middle At Night Time and is also a good size

Submitted By: Mr W WilliamsAfter the normal rigours of the outbound journey and a not too good two hour transfer from Dalaman airport we arrived at the Lagoon at close to midnight to be greeted by Hakan himself and his right hand man Jamie. The welcome was warm and sincere (all promised help and advice duly transpired throghout the two weeks). Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff during our stay.
Two stars maybe, but every single member of staff are way beyond that!
A big thank you to Nasif as well. Treat yourself to a shave from him guys. Top barber and a top bloke.
I cannot say enough about Hakan and his team. Their levels of alacrity are simply staggering.
The resort itself is also an absolute gem. A five minute stroll from the Lagoon, a small village with the expected mix of tourist entertainment:- Karaoke bars, Sky sports, "British" pubs, etc if it's that sort of thing you are looking for. Being old fogeys we tended to stay clear of such delights.
A huge choice of restaurants, (we didn't have a poor meal while we were there), although for the last four or five days we took to a particular liking to Dippy Dolly's.
The stroll to town was for us punctuated by a swift one in Cengiz's bar. The nightly stroll back to the Lagoon without exeption turned into a marathon, with more than just a swift one in Cengiz's. What a man and what a bar! No airs or graces, no doors or windows even, but a superb atmosphere in which to make new friends. (Hi especially to Reg & Pam and Craig & Carol). Cengiz you are a legend my friend.
We are looking forward to our return to Hisaronu and the Lagoon Hotel.
Love and Life to everyone we met during our stay,
Wayne and Sue.

Submitted By: nixbThe gorgeous resort of Olu Deniz was a short (and Cheap) bus/dolmus ride away, as was the bustling market town of Fethiye. Hisaronu had many restaurants, bars, and clubs to offer all ages but I would not recommend if you want something off the beaten track.
We had a lovely romantic beach holiday and the resort was fairly quiet. It is very good to haggle with the local tour guides on prices and look around before committing. It is also best to get all your trips with one company as they are more likely to give you discount. The paragliding from Mt Babadag is well worth it and the views are amazing. (Around £45).
The boat trips leaving from Olu Deniz every day are very reasonable and a great way to tan and see the local area and cost only £5 including lunch! If you are keen walkers and want to get away from all the people then I advise taking a bus to the Ghost town and there is a walk from here to the lagoon at Olu Deniz (search for a map) follow the red markings on the stones over the mountain. It’s a great way to see the lagoon for the first time! Although the markings are sometimes very hard to spot its quite simple to see where you need to be. This is a great place for couples and families.

Submitted By: Mr S CHURCHMICHAELThe Lagoon is a small hotel where you are very much made to feel a part of things, the staff are unbelievably friendly and there is nothing they won't do for you, it's locality is ideal, not on the main street but a leisurely 7 or 8 minutes walk to restaurants, buses etc.
There is a small journey by Dolmus [which turn up every 3-5 minutes or so] to the beach and the Blue Lagoon.
For eating out I would recommend the following Saffrons, Whispers, The Pepper Sun and the Hotel Lagoon itself does delicious meals and if you fancy a drink The Effes Bar is well worth a visit, all can be found on the main street in Hisaronu.
We will both be returning next year in order to catch up on what we missed and to revisit all the friends we made, enjoy........

Submitted By: Mrs H HaywardWe really enjoyed this resort and will defo be going back. I would highly recommend the Skillanet Gorge trip, but most of the local trips are really good value as they cost between 10 and 15 pounds and include transfers and a good lunch.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the pool area was lovely. There was always beds by the pool and it never seemed to be crowded.
The breakfast consisted of watermelon, olives, feta cheese, boiled eggs, fresh bread, coffee jams honey etc. But you can buy full English for 8YTL.
The rooms are basic but were cleaned regularly and the beds made most days.
Food from the bar was always good, I had the trout, and one of the waiters de- boned it and removed head and tail skilfully at my table.
The only thing I could complain about is the noise from other guests coming in at 2am 4am 6am but that is not the hotels fault!

Submitted By: Miss J MonaghanThe hotel is in a quiet area but only 5 mins walk at most to all the best bars, restaurants, clubs and shops. or if you want a night in the hotel staff are very entertaining, and the food is fantastic too.
There is something for everyone at the Lagoon hotel, if you want a quiet holiday its good, or if you want a more fun packed holiday the staff will be pleased to offer this, even dancing on the bar is available! or if you want a family holiday there is a childrens pool and play area and a fair just up the road.
The hotel staff will happily arrange all your day trips at good prices, including boat trips and paragliding, or anything you want to do, and the hotel also puts on a Turkish night with belly dancing, folk dancing, huge BBQ with over 20 meze and you can even try the traditional drink raki!
We would like to thank all the staff, hakan and lisa, hasan, morris, eray, byron, kitchen chef, cleaner and husband, nazif, kim and anyone else that made our holiday fantastic.
see you all next year!
