Stayed here for 2 weeks. Hotel was nice and clean. About a 5 minute walk from the village centre.
Room had a tv, beds were comfortable and shower got you clean.
Did not eat here but had a lovely afternoon tea. The staff were lovely and sometimes oraganised games to play.

me, my sister and my grandparents all stayed at this hotel for a week. we arrived at about 6 in the morning and were greeted by the manager who was friendly, helpful and did actually speak pretty good english. our bags were taken to our rooms by ne of the lads that worked there and we were put in a room that we called the dungeon. it was damp and dark but when we got asked to be moved at 9 the same morning, we were straight away. the rooms we were put in were alot better, they were clean and bright. after reading the reviews before we went we were abit worried about food poisoning etc but to avoid it we ate out alot of the time. the evening entertainment was amazing and everyone was game for a laugh, yes u did have to pay at the bar after 11 but u really didnt mind doing it, just to stay and have abit of fun. the town itself was quiet but that was because it was the end of the season and everyone was beggining to close. the views of the mountains are brilliant too. the pool at the hotel was kept clean and all of the staff were very friendly and tried to get u involved in the dancing in the evening, me and my sister ended up learnig what they call the cha cha, was very funny. we got on with all of the staff and found the hotel to be basic all inb all but at the end of the day u get what u pay for and we will definitely be returning next year. i would just like to than ahmet and all of his staff for making our holiday so enjoyable! see you next year!!!!! :D

first there was a problem with the water... none of it. it stayed cold for the first 3 days of our holiday. You would definately need a safety deposit box, as we had a purse and a gold necklace stolen from our hotel room ! The manager was VERY unhelpful, very rude with a bad attitude, we called on our rep who was useless as well, the rest of the staff were very polite and the hotel was clean. we would not go back to hotel merriment but we would go back to Hisaronu. There are a lot of things which the hotel advertise but do not have. i.e mini market, indoor pool and le carte restaurant.

After reading all these reviews i was more than worried to be staying at the hotel. We arrived at 8:30 in the morning after our flight had been delayed. We were welcomed by a man who offered to carry our suitcases for us, he was very friendly and carried our suitcases to our room. Our room was very clean every day the maid came in and changed our towels and made our beds and tiedied anything that was outta place. After we had unpacked we went for breakfast usually i dont eat anywhere not even in resturants but there was a large selection of choices for breakfast such as eggs, cereals, fruit etc. lunch also had a good choice and so did dinner and a lovely selection of deserts. the main chef was very friendly and spoke to the peoplle staying in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and would be up for a laugh with people but they knew when work had to be done. The dining area was spotless as any little crumb the chef made sure it was swept up and table cloths were changed. the pool was very clean and very refreshing during the day there were water games such as water polo and water aerobics. night entertainment was really good on the first night there were turkish dancers and belly dancers and also on other nights there were children discos and a professional photographer. the staff made my stay at the hotel very joyable. the only negative things i have to say about the hotel is that the ice creams were not involved in the all inclusive and could cost up to 5 lira for one and there wasnt a mini fridge in the room as stated and there was a funny smell coming from the watering hose watering the flowers but apart from that it was definately a hotel worth staying in again..ill be back next summer

Very very basic hotel, You get what you pay for....... however it was very tatty and badly maintained.
Lack of hot water, dirty towels and beds.
The choice of food was very limited and you could see that most of the time it was rehashed left overs from the previous meal.
Its not really worth going all inclusive as the food is that bad you need to eat out! and the choice of drinks on the all inclusive is very poor.
It is cheap and well located but there must be better hotels near there for a similar price.

Returned from the Merriment last week after spending 7 of the hotest holiday day I ever encountered.
Read the reviews befor I went ,and to be honest was a little worried.
Myself, my partner and 8 year old son were al inclusive ,and arrived at around 01.00am in the morning to be met by a freindly chap whos english wasnt perfect ( what do you expect your in Turkey for gods sake)but was helpfull, and organised two of the staff to carry all of our baggage to the room.
The roomn wasnt very big ,but very clean and tidy ,so that was the first shock after reading some of the reviews.
The next day we went to the poolside about 09.30am and managed to bag a couple of sunbeds ,and then went for breakfast. Do not expect a full blown english as this was just the continental syle, but edible.
After a few hours in the sun .lunch time. This was a selection of various salads and three main courses . I am the worlds fussiest eater but can assure all of you reading this ,it was pretty good.
This carried on all week with the food being ,in my opinion pretty good.
In summery ,if you have been 5 star to turkey befor dont expect the same service ,or variations of food at the Merriment.
This is a basic hotel and is great if you want a good value all inc week away in the sun, and Ive always beleived a holiday is what you make it ,and I will definately return to this hotel .

People seriously do not come here

we are still here and i felt strongly that i should let any people thinking of booking, not to do it. It is filthy, so many children have come down with food poisoning, two of them in my party, but many more from other families. there are children puking at the dinner table! Tonight a lady fell backwards out of her chair and then was sick next to the pool. I am not exaggerating. I have had to almost had a fight to get the cleaners in to clean our room after my daughter was sick. You cant get clean sheets or towels unless you go some with the management.I havent seen the pool being cleaned in ten days and the family rooms are nothing short of terrible. The first one had no windows! We complained and opted for one which had some doors that cant close. The staff treat you like idiots and the surrounding area is kiss me quick style. First and last time in Turkey! Dont make the same mistake. Seriously not trying to do anything but tell you all how it is. spend a bit more and go to a different hotel. Also be careful because hotels here like to say they are 4 star or 3 star but by european standards they wouldnt get 1 star. Happy holidays please take my advice.

Awful Hotel - lovely resort
2 / 10
Jan 2009, LucyNaylor

I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend in Sept 08 for 2 weeks! The hotel was basic and not too clean, with a very rude barman who would play music till all hours of the morning so dont expect to ever get any sleep, and a manager that really couldnt care less. During our stay the contents of two safety deposit boxes were stolen, and a room was burgled! We were half board and the food was pretty gross, we ate out most nights and only had breakfats a couple of times as it wasnt worth rushing out of bed for.
The resort was amazing and i would love to go back and stay in a decent hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was its location it was a 5 min walk from everything. Places you must go are "Bar Rhumba" "Heads & Tails" and "The London Bar" very very friendly staff really look after you! All the resturants we tried were lovely aswell apart from an all you can eat chinese and indian which was very watery. We had a lovely turkish meal and italian....and of course many kebabs ;-) Please go to Hisaronu but DONT go to Merriment!!

Avoid the Merriment - Hisaonu is great though

Stayed here in June - it was great! OMG how things can change.
Okay, the Merriment is mega cheap and they also pick you up from the airport for £30 as well, but after last time we stayed I did expect a similar serrvice - but not the case.
I contacted them 6 times to make sure they had my booking - obviously this is not enough. No transfer at the airport, we got in a taxi after phoning the hotel (Semih said he could pick us up in 1/2 hour - didn't know he had a helicopter! - it takes at least 45 mins at Turkey speed usually) The taxi cost us £60. Arrived at the hotel to be welcomed by the owner, Voltan and Semih - Semih looked stoned, glad he didn't come and pick us up.
We were supposed to be in D1, not the case - we were put in D4. It's a dump, no curtains, no windows you can open (it's like a loft conversation), dirty, no furniture and the bathroom was ridiculous. My daughter called them peasant quarters they were that bad. We requested another room after 1 night - apparently the hotel was full but if we stayed in D4 for 1 more night we was promised another room.
Went down to the pool area, they have new cushions for the sunloungers which were needed last time we was here. The pool was filthy - a nice creamy colour and I also noticed that the pool area was also dirty. We decided to go for a walk.
The next day I went to reception to see if the new room was ready - the receptionist started laughing and said that the people in our new room was having a late check out and so wouldn't be ready until tomorow. We checked out and went to the Destan - great hotel, great location, great rooms, great pool.
While in Hisaronu you have to go to:
Shine Indian Restaurant - great curry - 3 course for £6
Bees Knees - for some really nice Turkish cuisine
Aloha Bar - about 10pm - the staff are great and they put on a good show
Hamish Mcturk - to book your excursions, I can recommend the jeep safari and quad biking
The monday market - although pricing is now pretty much the same prices as the shops
Crown Jewellers - take your gold and get it cleaned for free. Mehmet and his staff are really friendly.
Hisaronu is a great place - miles better than ay other resort in Turkey. No hassle, very friendly, great food and great entertainment. Fantastic for all ages.

on booking in we were presented with...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr S F  Edwards

on booking in we were presented with 2 turkish boys who didn't speask any english. Our room had mould on the walls , incomplete curtains , no shower head , filthy shower floor and a toilet which still had [-] in it !!
My wife stsed that this room was unacceptable and they left never to return. After half an hour we rang the reception and got hold of the bar manager. He said the romm was bad and tryed to get another person out of their room ( turned out to be te manager) but to no avail. He gave us another room which we took reluctantly as our party was being split up.
He sais the new room was booked for someone else in an hour but we couls have it till morning. That room eas just as bad !!
The next morning ion questioning other guests we founfd there had been no hot water since 2007. "you get used to it" was the comment .sorry but hot water for washing for purposes of hygiene is important.
The manager would not come not come to see us next morning despite 5 phone calls and an hours wait. We got our passports and left !!!
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO THE MERRIMENT !!!
