myself and my boyfriend went to moonshine apart in sep 10 the room is basic but clean, it suited us as we only needed room to sleep and wash in so were not bothered about lack of cooking facilities.. the staff couldnt have been friendlier dave, adam and co made sure you were happy and even gave me a free coctail when i didnt enjoy the pizza they made... overall the food they cooked at the pool bar was good, offer english breakfast scrammbled egg on toast for breakfast, burgers soup and sandwiches for lunch and steak chicken and fish for dinner...also have a range of beers spirits and soft drinks cheaper than youd pay in bodrum marina etc...the pool was very clean as were the surrouding area... all in all we both had a lovely time in moonshine and if we were returning to bodrum would choose to stay in moonshine again.

Where to start really?! Me and three girl friends have just returned from Turkey. We arrived in the early hours to find the fridge was hot as it hadn't been turned on, the aircon (only being in one room) made the heat unbearable but the main issue we had was the stench from the bathroom! The sewerage system meant that throughout the day, but especially at night, we were left with an unbearable smell that made us gag. The sink in the bathroom was cracked all the way up and generally needed a lot of modernisation and good clean! The cleaner only comes every 3 days which is just nowhere near enough. My friend's top even went missing and to my utter amazement the member of staff covering reception was sat wearing it the next day- unbelievable really. Apologies for being so blunt but one of the barmen also asked us for a 'gang bang' and persistently bothered one of the girls for the entire holiday generally being a letch in all honesty.
It was a shame because for a girls holiday the loation is perfect, 10 minutes walk from all the nightlife and restaurants you could ask for and the sun was incredible. Some of the staff at Moonshine were friendly but overall the stay at our appartment was not a pleasant one and we were all quite ready to leave after a week. It definitely shouldn't be rated 3 star in my eyes.

We've just got back from a 2 week stay in Turkey.
We arrived at the Moonshine apartments at 3am in the morning having to look all over the place for someone that worked there. Eventually we found someone that said that he thought we were going to be a party of 4 children ??? (we were 3x adults and 1x 14y/o).
We went to the room ........ it was tiny, dirty, the door looked like it was semi open (bowed), the wardrobe space for hanging clothes was 12" without any coathangers. The room was split in two, a double bedroom and a living area with two small seats that flatten into beds. The air conditioning only worked in the living area, it didn't cool the bedroom at all. We had to take the matresses off the double bed and move it into the floor area of the living area so that we could get some sleep, this left no walking space.
The next morning, while we were waiting for the visit from the rep. we went down to the pool. The water was murky and you couldn't see the bottom clearly.
We spoke to other holiday makers and they were all moaning about the accomodation to each other but they didn't have the funds to move out. Fortunately, we did. We asked the rep. if she could find us some other accomodation. She was very good (Hanah, Thomas Cook). She found us another local hotel that was very good (Jasmine Beach Hotel). There was no comparison.
When the manager of Moonshine heard about us moving out he said that our expectations were too high and that you wouldn't find anywhwere in Turkey that was any better. I explained that we visited one other hotel that was far superior to his and that was the place we were going to spend our holiday at. He went quiet.
The decision to change hotels meant the difference of having a terrible holiday to a good one.
The pictures of the apartments in the brochure don't give a realistic impression of the place.
It seems to be at the back end of knowhere and to walk anywhere is risking life and limb.
I would strongly recommend finding alternative accomodation.

We stayed as a pary of 3 myself and my 2 daughters. The appartments are adequate but the self catering facilties were poor. The walk to the main town was dangerous as there is a lot of blind corners on the roads. On a night we got a taxi for approx 5 lira which was safer than walking. The staff at the moonshine were polite howver i recently found out that the manager had slept with my 26 year old daughter and became very nasty. So women should be aware of the manager and stay well clear.

We stayed in the Moonshine apartments in August 06.
The accommodation was very sparse and the decor gaudy. Our apartment walls were shocking pink and lime green with an orange sofa bed. The kitchen area was inadequate, no toaster and just a single hot plate. Ours was a one bedroom apartment but it was very small.
The outside of the apartments looked very nice and the pool was very good. All the staff were friendly and because the Moonshine is out of the way drinking in the outdoor bar of an evening you get to meet many of the other guests staying there.
Omar is the head barman and very competitive... so any games that were played or activities in or out of the pool Omar will win! He is a smashing fella and makes everyone feel welcome.
The distance into Bodrum was a problem, it is over a mile down poorly lit lanes, and of an evening it's a nightmare. I spoke to somebody who had young children, one in a pushchair and she was very scared after a car nearly hit them.
Bodrum was o.k. but we much preferred Icmeler where we went this year.
The accom I would give 6/10 the staff 10/10 the location 5/10.
