Our holiday was lovely
The hotel was clean and well looked after. There were plenty of facilities there and it was a pleasure to stay there. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily - with bed clothes laid in beautiful arrangements on the bed - however the rooms were not decorated modernly but they we nice none the less. The private beach was spectacular and there are plenty of opportunities to go on excursions.
The staff were lovely! Nothing seemed to be too much of a problem for them and they were there to help if ever you asked. The were all well groomed and turned out!
Our experience was wonderful and the previous comment is absolutely untrue! It is a lovely hotel and I am hoping to return in sept! It is a must got area of Tunisia too. With two lovely towns only a 4 dinar taxi ride away (£2).
Enjoy your stay here - Im sure you will!

This hotel was sold to me as a 4 star it definitely is not. The hotel is dirty and the staff stare at the English females. It annoyed the hell at of me as they glared at my wife.
The restaurant food is bad quality and the staff are not helpful or friendly. This review is true and I have complained to Going places and Airtours and they say they just apologised and did not say they are doing something about it.
I would not recommend anyone to go to this hotel, please research some more hotels in Hammamet as they are better!
Mr Bhaker.

The Miramar Hammamet is shown as a 4*...

The Miramar Hammamet is shown as a 4* hotel which was probably the case when it was built about 40 years ago I am told, However the standards are probably 3* in reality now as some of the rooms etc were in need of minor repairs etc. However to be honest this did not affect our enjoyment of the holiday at all. The staff more than made up for the minor shortcomings of the hotel in their friendliness & hospitality, e.g. the lady who cleaned our rooms left fresh flower petals on our beds every day in a different pattern.
The facilities were good 2 outdoor pools & 1 indoor - all kept clean, the beach was literally on the doorstep & was a very good standard, although the beach bars were not in operation I guess because it was early in the season, there was tennis, basketball A children’s club, archery, crazy golf, table tennis, volley ball, darts, aerobics, massage etc & water sports close by.
there was entertainment for the kids every day & a short show every night by the hotels entertainment team - a German team but who could speak 4 languages & got on very well with the kids (in fact the shows were more suitable for Kids than adults really although some of the comedy was good - some of the miming to records could have been done better but that’s just being picky).
The food in the hotel was generally of a good standard, there was a fair selection & there was some decent attempts at English food on the menu to compliment some Tunisian dishes.
The Beer is limited to local lager which is fine but a bit expensive in the hotel about 6 Dinars a pint (£3) but in some of the smaller hotels locally it is half that price, you can get Whisky etc but imported stuff tend to be expensive & the local stuff is adequate.
Current exchange rate is approx 2.25/2.3 dinars to the £.
Local Taxis are frequent & cheap, 3 (£1.30) dinars to Hammamet old town & 4 (£1.75) to Hammamet Yasmin, however the driving over there is a bit hair raising at times.
Bartering is an art form over here & takes some getting used to we were told as a rule of thumb you normally need to finish up at approx 1/3rd of the price they start off at as a finishing cost. It can be a bit daunting when you 1st start shopping as they even gently try to man handle you in to their stores at times but a firm no thank you & walking on is all that is required.
Tipping is generally expected as the pay rates over here are poor but always view the bills as some of the people add a hefty tip on themselves if you don’t watch them.
Anyway we all enjoyed our holiday & will no doubt go again at some point (3 adults 1 teenager, 1 - 8yr old and an 18mth old baby)
Hope this is useful.
