Macdonald Rusacks Hotel

We were disappointed with our room because of the deep uncomfortable ridge in our "double " bed which was in fact two singles zipped together. Dinner was very poor quality... tastless fish and tough inedible steak. Our initial complaint about dinner was met with an unhelpful comment, "Well i have served 25 steaks tonight and had no other complaints".... i only wished i had had one of these 25 !! Hotel manager was helpful. We will not return.

Spent Sunday night as an early Valentines treat, got a great deal on laterooms.com. (£170 DBB & View per room) We had a 3rd floor room with amazing views, the evening meal (inclusive) was delicious, friendly service at both dinner and breakfast. Only drawback was the wait for the room, and I didn't really expect to see bundles of used linen lying in corridors at 4pm! but apart from that it was delightful

We stayed at this hotel 2 weeks ago, its in a great location with some public rooms and bedrooms over-looking the 18th hole. We had a nice room, good size with a big bed and nice white bed sheets and furniture. It was very very clean. We had breakfast delivered to our room, it was lovely, hot and filling and we were not charged extra for the room service. Stayed here as part of a conference. It is an old, quirky, (in a good way) hotel that should please those who love to golf or appreciate English mysteries. The stay was lovely. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order with cold selections. My fourth floor room required a set of steps from the third floor but had a wonderful view of the sea over the golf course. Other rooms can be reached without the steps. WE booked a last minute break online through MacDonald hotels and we couldnt fault our night at the Rusacks. We had the Bing Crosby room which looked out onto the 18th green and it was a lovely big room. The dinner was excellent value for money and the breakfast was cooked to order not the normal buffet, been cooked for ages breakfast. Well worth a visit.

I have stayed at the Rusacks Hotel on several occasions since 1997. The service is always excellent as is the attention to detail. The rooms are all named on a golfing theme which is fitting seeing as the hotel gives some of the best views across the 18th green. The hotel has recently been extended and this has been done in keeping with the original building. There are rooms suitable for disabled access.
