A very noisy hotel from 8:30am everyday without fail - the scraping of furniture across the floor doors slamming, most spanish going down for breakfast as loud as they can get, the food was very basic - the only food you could eat was the food you cant go wrong with like... more

We booked the Balmoral because it was still relatively cheap, and pretty much found comments made by other reviewers spot on. Firstly, it is very clean. Apart from a random bug I found roaming around the bathroom one day I couldn't fault it at all. Staff were helpful if not... more

The staff were surly and unhelpful, catered mostly for elderly Spanish people wish we had been told. The food was absolutely dreadful, the waiters put a big trolley in the middle of the dining room in which the slops were tipped into. The jug of wine we bought tasted like... more

Spent a week at the Balmoral at short notice.
Couldn’t fault it in all aspects. Cleanliness, food, rooms, and friendliness of the staff. The hotel was spotless from top to bottom. Well recommended.
I would definitely stay there again if that standard is kept up.

This hotel is in a prime position for the beach. There are many bars and restaurants within the vicinity but only one offers any entertainment. To go to the main resort where the British bars are located is a 5 Euro taxi fare or a half an hours walk uphill. The Hotel... more

waiters with humour
2 star hotel with outstanding standard of cleanliness and friendliness excellent value for money , good location ,no hills or steep steps to promenade and beach. experienced staff who tolerated with good humour and fun our attempts to speak terrible spanish. peaceful relaxing easygoing . worth a second visit.
Very nice, clean hotel and cheap too
Stayed here last year and going again this year. Great location - room overlooked the pooled area & had sea views. Great for all amenities and a lovely walk along the sea-front at night. Food - a bit basic but there was plenty of it...lovely salad, chips and/.or potatoes, meat & fish dishes. Bar area again clean and tidy. Pool is lifeguarded. Hotel couldn't be cleaner if it tried. Lots of Spanish staying there, all very nice, and got chance to practise our spanish! Can't wait to go again.
Cheap and cheerfull
good location near the beach, food passable, drinks in hotel were cheap because it is mainly spanish clients. Pool area nice small pool also with life gaurd, rooms were quite small but fine no aircon so could be nightmare in peak season, staff were friendly enough . We stayed h/b four people paid £250 approx and we enjoyed it . Good base to explore area
Great place to stay on the Costa
My mother and I have just returned from a week at the Balmoral Hotel in Benalmadena, 15-22 January 2007, and what a delightful place to stay. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and I had asked for a room on the 6th or 7th floor overlooing the pool if possible, and that is exactly what we got. The hotel has recently been refurbished and is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and even though the guests were mainly Spanish, we were still made to feel welcome with the Spanish guests being very courteous towards us.... more
dont waste your money!!!!! awful place
rooms VERY small a so called triple room measured 11 ft by 15 ft and contained 2 single beds and a z bed..NOT big enough for 3 adults holiday was booked for 4 weeks i returned home after 1 Food ... disgusting ... same menu every day pork chicken and fish and it was always cold ...never heated through properly... deserts.....always fresh fruit ...or fruit salad swimming in milk... dont go in december no nightlife ..... phones didnt work wouldnt never go there again complete waste of money
Lovely Location...
Location - close to sea front, nearby shops and cafes, attractions closeby, bus stop outside, can hear the sea from room... -ve points - next to Macdonalds, building site nearby, can get noisy... Hotel - very clean, bright, refurbished, nice pool and bar area, can hire kettles, fridge, microwave, cots, etc for fee & showers are amazing! -ve - basic rooms, no tea making facilities, need to hire safety deposit box in room for 2 euros a day to validate insurance... Food - self-service dining - go early to avoid the mad rush!... more
More ideal for older people
The hotel room was lovely, the shower was absolutely lush. I preferred the lighting in the bathroom as other lighting was a bit too bright. The staff were Spanish and we got to practice some Spanish. The cleaners were friendly and excellent, as we got clean sheets, towels and loo roll every day. There's also a beautiful balcony. I did not however feel as I quite fitted in. It is more for elderly people and not younger people. Activities such as bingo are organized in the evenings. It is an ideal family holiday type of hotel. We... more
Near the sea
My husband, 7 year old daughter and I stayed here for one week in June 2004. The room was small with three beds in it but well renovated with plenty of storage space for our stuff. The bathroom was lovely with an EXCELLENT shower. The room was serviced every day with fresh towels when needed. Every room has a balcony, on one side overlooking the pool with a view to the sea. We stayed on this side, the other must have overlooked flats. TV in room but have to rent remote control to use it. No fridge, no air conditioning. If going in... more
Hotel Balmoral is Brilliant
Hotel Balmoral was excellent, the food was brilliant and so was the staff expecialy the entertainers. if i had the choice i would go back tomorrow.
Pleasant place for holidays
Good location near the sea, solid accomodation, beautiful zoopark nearby, many boutiques around, outstanding choice of buffet meals, agreable prices. This is the hotel for visiting again and again (I shall do it).
