4 Star no way 2 or 3 perhaps we were given a room above the sauna the maid changed the towels every day but nothing else our carpet was stained and not hoovered once the whole time we were there. The buffet meals were good the bar staff miserable the entertainment was dire. There is nothing to do in Malfa and to me Malta in general was not what I expected. The locals are friendly but me personally was very let down by Malta itself. The weather was fantastic but that is not enough we found Malta very expensive and would never venture there again.

Hi just back from malta, never been before i booked this hotel without reading the reviews about it .It has had a lot of very bad comments so we were really worried it was going to be a nightmare.Firstly the hotel has two sides to it ,one in need of modernising the other is very nice ,a 3/4 star i would say .we booked in had a look at our room wich is in the old side of the hotel and it was how it had been described by a number of unhappy guests ie in need of updating .we had asked for a double bed but had been given two broken down singles,it was on the first floor with a poor view.we asked for an upgrade and paid the an extra 170 euros between us for what was a very nice room.we had decided before we arrived that if the hotel had been terrible that we would cut our losses and stay somewhere else.I think it is a case of you get what you pay for,the manager told us that our original room was usually used by students or people after a cheap holiday.anyway our new room had a super kingsize bed ,lovely bathroom, fridge ,tv with 5 english channels ,a safe and a balcony and was cleaned everyday.we liked it a lot .we only did b+b there was cereals eggs bacon tomatoes sausages hash browns beans bread yogurt etc ,all nicely cooked but after a week got a bit boreing but it was ok.we payed for our evening meals and found them to be very nice and along with the wine good value, the service was quick too. Day and evening entertainment caters for mainly 60 year old and up .we hired a car for our last three days and would recommend doing so as the hotel location is a bit out of the way from valletta etc.but there is a cheap bus service that runs from outside the hotel that will get you to where you want to go ,but it stops going to the hotel after 8pm.so you can feel a bit stranded.the staff were good but there was a few who were surly and clueless. so to sum up we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to mature people ,also as the saying goes you do get what you pay for. from london cabbie

I was very disappointed with the hotel standard for saying it was a four star; it was very tired and worn - baths were cracked and stained, beds were very uncomfortable as the mattress kept slipping and the sheets kept crumpling due to the waterproof mattress cover. The breakfast was the same every day and if you wanted bacon or scrambled egg you had to pay extra.
My mum and I had a twin room each (a supplement was paid) and were asked by reception if we would mind sharing one room on the last day as they were in need of a room for a customer, we reluctantly agreed and were "paid off" with 20 Maltese lira (hardly a decent sum!). The final straw came when our rep never contacted us to tell us when our coach was picking us up on the 6th to go home and as a result, we spent a sleepless night until we went down for the coach which we had found out ourselves was leaving at 4.15am (he never came till 4.30am). Also, because we were leaving so early, the only "breakfast" we were offered by the hotel was a cup of coffee (which we don't drink in the morning) and a small piece of fruit cake.
All the outdoor pools are salt water (and very salty!). I am not blaming Chevron entirely as 5 years ago I spent a very enjoyable holiday with them at the Coastline Hotel in Bugibba but I would certainly not recommend anyone go to the Paradise Hotel unless the hotel dramatically improves its services and facilities.

The breakfast was always cold - even after complaints by guests of every nation staying.
On weekdays and festivals the hotel allows local Maltese people to buy a ticket for the day giving them lunch and access to the pools and other facilities.
The locals literally take over at the expensive of hotel guests and take all the umbrellas, sunbeds, and chairs and fill the pools. Complaining to the management is useless and guests are treated as second class citizens when the place is full of locals.
We have stayed there before; we will never go again and would certainly not recommend it to anyone else.

This hotel was a great disappointment to my wife and myself. The standard of the bedroom was not up to 2 star never mind 4 star. The walls were over painted breeze blocks with mortar joints visible. The dressing table was chipped and blistered Formica.
The large mirror had not been cleaned for a long time. Curtains were hanging loose. All in all a very poor standard. The food was good but having to go in two sittings and vacate your table to allow the next sitting spoils mealtimes.
Air Conditioning was inadequate for the hot weather and made sleeping very uncomfortable. Allowing local people to use the hotel at weekends and festival holidays leaves little comfort or room for residents.
I have never in my life complained in writing to any business organisation, but this holiday was spoilt by a very poor hotel that is very different from what is advertised.
Sorry "Paradise Bay" but NEVER again.

We were told that the hotel was a four star rating but on arrival we were very disappointed. Our room was very outdated and shabby, when we asked for another room we were taken to a refurbished room and told it would cost us well over a hundred pounds to change rooms for our seven night stay.
The food was very bland with not much variety, food did get slightly better at the weekend when locals arrived for the bank holiday. The staff were very surly and abrupt, not very helpful when we asked about bus services and attractions around the island.
The hotel is very popular with pensioners who do not look kindly on families with young children. Our eight year old son was very bored. The hotel did have an outside play area but this was badly in need of refurbishing as did the games room (five out of ten of the arcade games had broken down). The island is beautiful shame about paradise bay hotel.
