my friend and i went to the seyir 2nd july 08, we got all inclusive 2 weeks for £399. The hotel is a pretty basic hotel, but we found it to be clean, no problems with the food and the drinks.Although we were a little bit annoyed about free drinks stopping at 1050pm. because none of the drinks are free , we paid for them on booking our holiday, we did hear a few people complaining, but we thought alot of the complaints were petty. If you want the ritz pay the ritz prices. The hotel could do with a lick of paint in the rooms they were a bit dingy. Views from the hotel were fantastic. and all the staff were friendly, some of them are very good at entertaining you with their dancing. The goldtrail brochure says SOFT INCLUSIVE if people read the brochure properly they will see that soft inclusive means that food is NOT available all the time. the brochure does not mention that the hotel is suitable for kids either. so dont take kids there. There isnt much for them to do. If you want to go on any trips try the 6 island cruise it was good. Overall i found the hotel to be good value for money

We arrived in the early hours on an unairconditioned bus. Check in was quite swift but no welcome drinks. We were a party of two adults and one 15 year old. We were shown to our room (in the dungeons) we knew we were sharing a room but cosy isn't the word! Three single beds, side by side with no space whatsoever in between. Cosy... Room dirty and no room to open cases and smelt of urine and mould. The toilet was set to constant flush (this was mended after we complained). The bathroom contained a half-sized bath and non-functional shower. My boyfriend was seen through the gauze window by fellow guests during one of his all-too-frequent visits to the loo. It was just a hole in the wall. Went to welcome meeting with goldtrail, it was renamed a complaints meeting. Everyone had issues from being in the wrong hotel to being put in attic rooms, where they could not stand upright. The rep explained she was only covering and she had 20 families in the resort and nowhere to put them. Goldtrail booked too many people knowing they had not enough rooms. Food on the first day set the tone. Inedible garbage only served at certain times. Cake time (5-6pm)was the only safe bet for anyone with normal digestive abilities. Bar only open until 11pm for all inclusive drinks. At 10:45 the bar staff would start to entertain guests rather than serve and then start serving at 11:01pm ready to start charging.(not cheap) One night we were refused a drink at 10:40pm because we didn't have an empty glass to take back to the bar. But we could buy one after 11pm! Entertainment started at 10:30pm - a shrewd time bearing in mind that only 30 mins of free bar if you were lucky. During the day drinks were served in plastic cups which were only swilled under a tap not washed properly It was interesting to be sat drinking in this hillside resort when the local plane buzzed us to spray insecticide on our side of the mountain. People were coughing but were assured that no harm would come of it... Out of 40 rooms, by the end of our stay, our entire block was poorly (upset stomachs etc) and we didnt meet any adults who'd been there more than 3 days who was not suffering from the 'Turkey trots'. 9 days later, we are seeking medical advice. When I asked the rep what was being done about so many people being ill, she said I have emailed my head office!Mosquitos were a real problem. We were all bitten. One couple managed to link the huge amount of bites to the bed they slept in. Music was loud and and went on until 4am, fine if your not sick in bed wanting some sleep, or are simply after a quiet night. The pool was fine but the water slide was only open for half-hour intervals. Sunbeds were dirty and chairs broken. We found some of the staff to be friendly but were warned that there had been sackings due to 'over-friendliness'. We met some lovely people while there and my 15 year old really enjoyed the holiday, luckily he did not get ill like the rest of us. Our recommendation would be, if you chance this hotel, would be to treat it as a B&B. There's lots else to see and places to eat and drink, which were very reasonably priced.

Chelldon...I second your review. *Seyir Hotel......come to an English 1Star hotel. They will show you how its done!!!* I was on holiday at the same time as chelldon (previous review), but did not know them, as the hotel and its food was so crap, we never stayed there except to shower, get changed, have a quick few drinks, and sleep. Nobody was happy at the hotel, unless the cheap wine got the better of you. Most people were gossiping about how poor the rooms, the drinks and its food was. The rooms were often regarded as the dungeons, dark, pokey, mouldy, noisy near the disco, especially when the external door wouldn't close properly. The disco, well the music (not many people dancing), usually went on till 1 maybe 2am. Loud, few people just drinking at the bar, no need for it to be loud. Especially when there are signs plastered in the room, please...no noise after midnight. You have to laugh. The food, I suggest you either take spending money for food out, or leave your clothes at home and take your own in your food in your suitcase....Unless you like eggshells in your scrambled egg, I don't mean little bits, I mean 1/4 of the egg. Or maybe you like the choice of rice, sprouts, half a burger or chicken stew, with a choice of salad. I found it hard to choose which combination i was going to have. Chicken stew and lettuce, or rice and sprouts......hmmmmm. The hotel does offer a menu for those who wish to pay for it, but when you paid all inclusive, why the hell should you have to pay again???? Full english breakfast for £3.99 and evening menu at various prices. Eat out.....for £6 a person at the chill-out, just down the road we had bread, garlic mushrooms for starters, steak diane with all the trimmings, and apple crumble for desert. Full english breakfast was £1.95 In town, Chinese meals, all you can eat for £5.80 Kebabs everywhere, from 3ytl (£1.50) DONT pay all inclusive for this hotel, take earplugs and just sleep there, shower in the dark and you wont see the room for all its mankiness. (Did I forget the wardrobes stank of mould so much, I gagged?) So take some cotton wool for your nose also. It is true, the waiters were only interested in the young girls, always recieving special attention. My partner was always spoken to when I wasn't about, but never when we were together. This hotel is a poor ambassador for Turkey, if its the first time you are going, and you are diappointed, try again at another hotel or hope they find another chef and some some staff with manners. On the positive side, the weather was nice, the pool was nice, and so is the surrounding countryside. Plenty of places to visit. Real Turkish people are lovely, try to avoid the tourist areas. Would I go back to this hotel???....Yes, if I ever need to kennel my dog in Turkey.
Holiday from hell!
from chelldon
Just got back from a holiday from HELL! We arrived at The Seyir Hotel 7 nights AI at 4am in the morning to be put in the attic! The room was very small and dark with three single beds. The shower was only big enough for a very small child as it only came up to my waist. My partner who is 6 foot 3 and 12 year old son had to get on their knees to go to the toilet. The two small windows were covered in a climbing plant so you couldnt see out and the plant was growning through the mesh! The room absolutley stunk of urine and it was totslly filthy. We went to reception to complain to be told there was no more rooms available and the manager was sleeping and we would not get to see him til 3 pm.There was another couple with the same problem and joined us for a long wait in reception. The night time staff did not make us feel welcome and did not offer us refreshments and just left us sitting there. They told us there was no-one on call 24/7 and Gold trail who we booked with didnt open til 9.30am.After my parnter complained again for the 20th time we were told they had another room for us but would have to be moved after 2 days as the room was booked! When they took us up to our new room it was bigger but still dirty! There was dead insects on the floor which ended up staying with us for the whole holiday as they didnt end up moving us.There was ants in the bathroom which they used a masking gun to seal them in the bath! The sheets and pillow cases were ripped. When booking with Goldtrail on the Teletext the lady told my partner the beach was within walking distance(NOT),we had to get a ten minute bus ride,it was all inclusive(NOT),it was a soft all inclusive which meant you were restricted to drinks, snacks, food.Had to pay £25 for air con.We were told there was a kids club(NOT).There was a slide that was put on 11am for half an hour at a time then shut at 4.30.The staff were ignorant and rude and when we went to the bar, they would turn their backs on us.It is the only holiday i have come home and lost weight! The food was horrendous. What you didnt eat for breakfast it would be used for lunch and dinner. They gave you the same food constantly and often not cooked. Not one person on holiday at The Seyir Hotel was happy with the whole service. The Goldtrail rep was not helpful at all and two days before we left we found out she was dating one of the staff! The Goldtrail staff have not got a clue regarding customer service. There attitudes stink. If you approach them they just walk away.We were kept up all night to loud music and young girls getting chased around the hotel by the staff, there was under aged drinking going on and a member of staff had a skeleton key for one of the rooms and let himself in and was looking at a lady with no clothes on.When the lady screamed, the member of staff walked out then went back in and was took in the hall way by her husband and beat up.The police arrived to arrest the English couple but a witness came forward to say the the member of staff had thrown the first punch. We were told the member of staff had been sacked but he was back to work three days after the couple were moved to another hotel! We did eventually meet the manager who told us he would deal with our complaints and would be sacking the Bar Manager for the way they had treat us(which we didnt want but the manager said he was going to anyway) to find he was just full of crap too! This is by far the worst holiday we have ever had and dont usually complain but Goldtrail should be stopped from misleading their customers and The Seyir Hotel should be stopped from misleading there customers into thinking its a 3 star because it only rates a 1, and thats being generous.
Barbie and Ken rock here!!!!!!

I booked this holiday at the Coop with 2 days before I left and got it for an amazing £368 for 2 people all inclusive for 7 days. how goods that? It was our first trip to Turkey and having asked advice about food ect was told to except nothing special as Turkey was bad for all inclusive. With this in mind I found the hotel clean and the food boring but ok(but i am picky anyway) I will say though panic if they give you a room no begining with 400 as there is no lifts and these are a long way up(the rep said that they give you these rooms for 1 night as standard so do complain as they may leave you in here for ever!) Any way the drinks are ok but they do con you with the time it ends as there clock is way forward(we had a mutiny while we were there and made them put a clock up in the bar for last order reference) Oh and panic also if they spray for incects as they do this twice weekly(the government do it without telling anyone so not the hotels fault) and it stinks of deisel and makes you choke but believe me at least it kills the mossys, we were all eaten alive so make sure you buy some good repellant before you go (Avon SSS oil works great) The staff are great, they work really hard for little money so please tip them!!! They also take there clothes off while dancing on the bar(have video which I will put on U Tube when I work out how to do it.) Anyway to round up, go as youll have a lovelly quiet friendly holiday as such a small hotel you get to know everyone( at this point need to say hello to all my buddies- Ken and Barby (dont ask), Susan and David from Norfolk, Linda and Micheal from London, Alex and Russ from london, and thats just a few)clean rooms, lovely staff, decent salad(dont ask) and brill weather. Oh by the way dont bother changing to money before you go as they prefer English money. Also go to Chill out down the road as they serve full english for £1.80 and its lovely. Going back next year!!!!!!!!!!! From Susan and Glenn

Just returned from the seyir in ovacik we booked this last min and got a great deal. We have stayed 5* before so where not expecting luxury, but we where very surprised when we arrived we has been alocated the family room, single bedroom for our 17 year old he thought this was great and a seperate room with king size bed and 2 single beds for us and our 7 year old. The bathroom was fantastic with jacuzzi bath and shower. Other poeple where not so impressed with there rooms but think this was just the english being english. The food was very nice we had a good meal everyday with everything from soup, salads, fish and stews. Fresh bread and friut with every meal. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We returned back from a day out to find the cleaners had decorated our beds with flowers and swans made from towels it was a lovely touch. As this hotel is all english there is no fighting for a sun bed and everyone was friendly. The CHILL bar just down the road from the hotel serves great food can recommend the full english breakfast for £1.95. Do not book day trips through rep as very expencive just take a 5min walk into the town and you can book anything from sunset cruise to paragliding. Will be going back later in the year. Hope you all enjoy your holiday as much as we did. katy, ian , tara and tom......
reasonable choice

Booked a very cheap deal here with Goldtrail holidays. Arrived very early in the morning and the rooms were ready. Staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was very large, with two good sized bedrooms, one with large bed (equivalent to two singles joined) and one with two beds. The bathroom too was a generous size. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The walls had obvious painted-over patches, and would have felt much nicer had it just had a fresher coat of paint. There were some small damp patches in the walls. Overall, the room was nothing special, but perfectly satisfactory. The room had air con, but it cost quite a lot extra to use it (we did not need to in October). Same high costs applied to the use of safety deposit boxes (£15) and fridges. There were no facilities for making tea in the room, and no television. Breakfasts were a simple open buffet with bread, cereals, cheese, meats, olives and eggs to eat, and tea, coffee, water or bright orange juice to drink. We did not spend that much time at the hotel during the day. In October there were plenty of sun loungers, plenty of sun, but the pool was freezing. TV by the bar was often showing sports. In the evenings the bar played music fairly loudly until about midnight, we had no trouble sleeping with the windows closed, but light sleepers might, depending on the location of the hotel room. The location is far enough away from the noisy night life in Hisaronu that you don't hear it, while only being a 10 minute walk to the quieter end of Hisaronu or the Olu Deniz/Fethiye bus stop. It is up a hill though, so we never looked forward to the walk home. Overall, the Seyir hotel is a good budget option. With clean rooms and friendly staff it is a perfectly reasonable choice for an enjoyable holiday, but if you want something really special, look to pay more and go elsewhere.
Lovely little hotel

I am just back from a week stay in this hotel. It is quite small and as it was end of season was nice and quite. the rooms are basic but clean, the maids work very hard and clean your room every day. A nice pool with a slide which i seen being cleaned each morming. The staff are all quite young and play very loud music from about 11 am - till midnight and you can hear this music evenin your rooms - which we did not mind but an older couple looking to relax mite!! Breakfast was nice but basic - cheese bread meat etc. its about a 3-4mins walk to the main street. The area is fantasic, we had a brill time going Paragliding, quad biking, jeep safara, boat trips etc!! Food is great and very cheap - it was one of our best holidays ever!! Beach is lovely!!!

21 of us stayed at the Seyir Hotel. would not reccommend it all guests were saying the same thing - if you did not stay at the hotel bar in the evening then you were totally ignored by all male staff - the young girls were ok. we came down in the evening to meet our friends, seated ourselves at a table and no one came over to see if we'd like a drink or they would turn the music up full blast so u could'nt hear yourself speak. the first nite we arrived we went out for diner on return about 1.30am i was stopped by reception and asked what i had in my carrier bag - i replied water!! crisps and i was told i was not allowed to take anything from outside the hotel into my room - so this was the beginning off hell - the pool slide has a sign up saying hrs 11-12 --2-3 -- 5-6 -- let me tell u we were lucky if it was on once a day and when asking the question the answer was slide finish 4o'clock ? the pool was never cleaned, they never came around the pool in the day to see if we'd like drinks or even tidy up the area. the lads all 6 of them just played pool and sat around playing music. the rooms were basic - but cleaned every dasy. this is not real turkish hospitality as i have been coming to hisaronu for 8 years and never had such bad treatment. the rep said that the manager there was always the same. family all mixed ages
fantastic

We went to Turkey in August 06, we had a very comfortable stay at the seyir hotel. Do request the Air Con, when we went it was around £20.00 for the week. It was so so warm at night without the air con on. We went B&B and the breakfast was very good, i wide choice of food was available. You could have a selection of Cereals, cheese, fruit, omlettes and different types of salami, bread and tea, coffee and juice. The pool was great for the kids, it had a wicked slide which was turned on and off throughout the day, (it was turned off to allow a bit of peace and quiet for the parents!!) No-body mined when the kids where splashing around and coming down on thier inflatables as the adults where doing the same. It was a great family atmosphere. The rooms where basic but well kept, the maids worked very hard. be aware that the seyir is set up back from the main restaurants and shops, it takes 3 mins to walk down into Hisaronu but it is a bit of a treck when you go back up, it is such a small walk but the slight hill is a killer in the heat. Just get a taxi, they are so cheap any way. Do book your excursions through "evergreen" they are just at the bottom of the hill, turn left and they are on the right hand side. Excellant value for amazing trips. Yes we did go a year ago but i am sure much has not changed and i if i can be any help to you then please ask. Do go to Billys beach down in Olu Deniz, it is a great beach to spend a lovely day..
