" The San Gorg is a really excellent... "

The San Gorg is a really excellent hotel in every respect. Beautiful decor, clean, spacious, super staff in every area.

Excellent food and so much of it. We booked room and breakfast and did look around for a restaurant in the town for dinner. There was no point. We ended up back in the hotel because we didn't think we could better the hotel restaurant for price, quality of food or ambience.

The health treatments are great and this is a comment from someone who usually thinks all that pampering is over the top and too self indulgent. The massages really did me good - you definitely should try at least one but preferably two or three and you'll feel like a new person.

The poolside area is well kept and in a really good position overlooking the bay.

All round this is a real quality hotel.

" This was our first visit to Malta, we... "

This was our first visit to Malta, we went with brother-in law and his wife.

If this hotel had been anything less than 100%, my wife would have walked out as she has done in a few in England.

We all said it is brilliant, bedrooms good size, cleaned every day.

Staff were so friendly and at breakfast there was always plenty to eat and if it wasn't there it was soon cooked.

We have seen bad reviews on the Marina, can only say like it is, others must always stay at the Hilton group if they fault the Marina.

No need to say more than we are going back to Malta in March 2007 but could not book this for the week we wanted, so off to the Waterfront in Sliema. It is the wife's birthday while out there and she wanted to stay at the Marina, so hope this is just as good.

We will go back here again. We did hire a car, even the locals admit to getting lost on what are called roads in some parts, more potholes than tarmac on some, that’s what make's Malta so great.

Medina is really worth the time to visit and we intend to go again in March .

" This is a lovely hotel and I have... "

This is a lovely hotel and I have been informed that every room has a balcony (from my cousin who also works at the hotel) It has a beautiful view of St Georges Bay and in my opinion is simply stunning, its so close to the sea albeit up a slight hill/road.

Its a 5 star and lives up to its name, the staff were efficient. Its very close to Paceville which is a local hot spot / night spot (Friday & Saturdays especially busy) and nightlife very good, in fact the Maltese people don’t usually tend to go out until gone 10pm. Malta is a gorgeous island steeped in so much culture and history that for the 3 weeks I was there (25/03 - 16/04) I couldn’t take it all in.

If your after a relaxing holiday with an abundance of culture and the best food then this is the place. Locals speak English very well and are friendly as long as your friendly to them, remember they welcome you to the island with open arms and all they ask in return is that you respect their culture & island. They are devout Roman Catholic so be very careful of your language and never blaspheme as they take this as a serious insult of the highest degree. I can speak for the Maltese as I am myself of dual Maltese citizenship.

The island has gone slightly higher in price but is still relatively cheap in comparison just don’t expect prices to be very cheap as it once was...this is what joining the EU does! The climate is absolutely wonderful (yes even in March/April - I came back with a tan) expect around 20c March-April and higher temp's later in April rising to 40c+ in the height of summer... if you go in summer don’t expect much to be open between the hours of 12-4 as this is typical time for siesta. TIP... black cabs are cheaper than white cabs!
