My Husband and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Soreda Apartments/Hotel. I was a bit aprehensive after some of the reviews that I read but decided that for the price I may as well give it a go. I was well impressed upon arrival. We booked into an apartment which was extreamly clean and well equipt. We had towel change every day as well as apartment clean and then linen was every 3 days. The Hotel itself is a little bit dated but you get what you pay for. I find that a lot of people on these review sites just enjoy a good aul moan. Some people had complained about the lack of light in the corridors (the lights are on a sensor so take a few mins to come on), also some people said the pool didnt get sun...I have to say this is a lie, the ground floor outdoor pool is in the sun for a lot of the day. Rooftop pools had enuf sunbeds and there always seemed to be some spare. On arrival we were given a complementary brekfast meal which was buffet style and had a great selection. There is also a well equipt gym downstairs for a fee of €7 per day. The indoor pool and sauna are free of charge. The staff couldnt have been nicer. Basically I would well reccomend this Hotel...it aint the Ritz but is deffo well worth the money. Main Bus Station is about 5min wal away and Budgiba Town is about 10min walk. Malta for anyone who hasnt been aint the most attractive of places but Madina is deffo a delight on the eye and is only about a 20min bus ride away and is well worth a view. It is worth noting that an road facing room is worth requesting as the inner apartments/rooms overlook the courtyard of down pipes.

My wife & I have just returned from a 6 day break at the Soreda and found it great value, all the staff were very friendly, hardworking and helpful, our room was clean & spacious, it was well serviced everyday with clean towels as required. All the public areas were well maintained, with staff always cleaning & polishing. We found the restuarant & waiting staff excellent, the selection of food for both breakfast & dinner was exceptional, with something for everyone, with management often mingling amongst diners to ask for their comments to make sure folk were satisfied. This was our second visit to the Soreda ( our previous visit was in 2002)& we would certainly be only to happy to return again.

WE have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Soreda all inclusive, and have to say that we couldnt have wished for more apart from 1 thing........ the wingeing whining moaning guests who do not know they were born. Room cleaned every day clean towels every day hot water working lifts and excellent hard working staff bar staff always smiling and friendly. What do some people expect for the money. There was fresh fruit at every meal time breakfast cereal, coffee, cakes, yoghurt toast bread and cold cuts and of course the old heart attack specials. Lunch and dinner much the same, plenty of choice not brilliant but if anyone could not find something that they find palatable then they are very sad. 2 particular guests gave us much merriment and mirth when they reserved their sunbeds in the rain early one morning by putting towels in plastic bags on the beds we nearly cried laughing so much. Pig award goes to the scottish guy wearing the same shirt every day, not smiling ever, whom fished every last meat ball out of a newly arrived container of pasta with meatballs one lunch time.
- Advice: Excellent value but take the 4 atar rating with a pinch of salt.

hi,just back from malta, on an all inclusive holiday to hotel soreda in qawra. where do i begin, booked my holiday by myself, booking flight and hotel seperately .air malta superb [check them out]I have to admit on arrival ,we had thought we had made a boob.it was very dark and we were tired and it was 01-30. But the welcome we got was excellent, the staff on duty were a great help, as I was travelling with my wife and our fifteen month old baby ,they helped us to our room and also were kind enough to give us fresh milk for our baby.As we have been to malta a few time,s, we knew the hotel ratings are not quite what they seem .but we were mildly surprised of the quality of the hotel .yes there are some things they could refresh and there are somethings they could make more use of .ie open the bar downstairs for tea or coffee or maybe for people who would like to sit out of the sun.The hotel itself is situated just perfectly, not to far away from the beachfront and just far enough away from the main drag and entertainment, which the hotel had seven nights a week .the pool area is on the roof with a good size pool and baby splash pool with lots of sunbeds, if not at poolside ,on the terraces.as we were all inclusive we used the hotel restaurent quite a lot and ive got to say the food was excellent. always a choice of starters, main meals, and desserts. also with us having the baby the staff were always there with a helping hand. especially Tizzyanna who the baby took a shine to.i must mention the waiting staff for doing an excellent job, keep it up you helped make our holiday so special. The staff on reception, the cleaning staff and not to forget, the boys on the roof top bar, are all there to help you have a great holiday . i can,t praise them enough .I have to say ,that when i booked this holiday i looked at all the reviews and was a little apprehensive.but i was worrying over nothing.iff you are thinking of going to this hotel on holiday, then i hope you read this review. if you look for things to complain about, you will find them .if you want to go and just enjoy your holiday, you will. and that is an honest oppinion.

I just got back from malta and enjoyed it very well!
It was my first time in Malta.
When we arrived on the airport of Malta, there was a bus waiting already to take us to the hotel, the man was very friendly and helped us with our luggage.
When we arrived at the horel everything went perfect, we got the key to our rooms and could go in immediatly.
The room was big enough for me (had a single bedroom, but got 2beds) and very clean.
I did wake up with the noise of the constuctions from the buildings over the hotel.
the breakfast was great (real english breakfast: eggs (all kinds), sausages, bacon but also toast, jam, sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt,..)
my sister wanted a coke in the morning which they usually don't give, but it was no problem to get one for her.
Lunch was also very good, a great selection of food (soup, potatoes, fish, rabbit, chicken, and all kinds of vegetables) when we sat at the table someone came to order our drinks and our dishes were taken away when empty. the staff from the restaurant was very friendly and helpfull (thanks to all :) )
Diner was, again, great! so much food, you had to taste it all!
i read on other reviews that the food was horrble, burnt and always the same, let me tell you it was not true!! the meat was so tender you didnt even have to use a knife.
but it is true that you don't have much of a choice with deserts, its always cake or fruit or jelly, but the cakes(pie) were delicious!!
every evening there was something to do in the hotel at the bar.
you could sing karaoke, there was a DJ, piano player and singer, ...
the bar staff was very friendly and fun, thanks to Mathew (he did have mood swings but most of the time he was smiling and making us laugh!) and the other staff from the bar!
(i recommend a blue curracao with orange, very good!!)
the hotel itself was clean and when we had a problem it was solved pretty fast.
Our rooms were cleaned every day, thanks again to the cleaing staff :)
when we were ready to go home, we were picked up at the hotel and dropped of at the airport, always on time!
i do recommend when you want to go on tours, to do it with Angie (she has a shop in one of the streets not far from the hotel and has a dog named Jack) she arranged all our tours and we were not dissapointed! she is friendly and helpfull and honest!
so for all the people who had a bad time in the Soreda hotel, don't be so picky and just enjoy your vacation!!!
I do have to tell you it's not perfect when you have little children (not much to do for them)
I loved it and would go back to the Soreda if i go to Malta.
Thanks to all the staff from the Sorda hotel.

My husband I went for a 4-week winter stay half-board @ the Soreda. This was our first (& last!) time in this hotel but our 5th visit to Malta - a country we both love. The hotel is clean, staff mostly friendly but beware the restaurant manager who is surly bodering on rude. Our room was on the top floor & seemed fine, plenty of space,a good sized bathroom with a powerful shower & no shortage of hot water. The balcony overlooked the courtyard and was shady but there wasn't much sun so it didn't matter. However it was only a minute away from the rooftop to catch the little winter sun we did have. The room turned out to be quite damp & we found the mould behind the curtains in our second week. We could have requested a room change but stuck it out as we may have lost the lovely maid who did our corridor (the lovely Trinity who can't do enough for you). The food left a lot to be desired, breakfast was awful (tinned fruit cocktail at breakfast!), evening meals were varied but often overcooked & on some occassions actually burnt. It would have been nice to have ice cream as an alternative to sickly cakes & puddings & the 'cheeseboard' turned out to be little squares of processed cheese & a basket of small stale crackers. There was an excellent choice of salads though (if you like leftover cold veg). If you can avoid it don't use the internet cafe it is expensive (3.50 euro's an hour compared to 2.00 everywhere else). Entertainment was repetitive but not bad although they had a strange habit of putting football on the big screen by the dance floor at the same time as live entertainment. It's a fairly central location about 15mins walk to the bus station but bit hilly for less abled & there is building work around so beware. Also the streets are very dirty which is unfortunately common in some parts of Malta - obviously no fault of the hotel. There are no daytime activities in the hotel so if it rains (which is did for almost 3 weeks of our stay!) the only thing there is to do is read or use the indoor swimming pool; which despite everything else is superb with a lovely Jacuzzi too; but look out for the weekend Maltese visitors who dominate the pool area! Overall this is no 4* but as frequent travellers we are aware these ratings are to be taken with a pinch of salt. We have done long stay before at other hotels and all have their own good & bad points. The Soreda is disappointing but it was cheap. You get what you pay for but I would not recommend this hotel.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Soreda Hotel. What made us go back to this hotel is it’s quieter location when compared with main town Bugibba, and the friendly nature of all bar staff. I could not fault them.
As soon as we arrived, we noticed a lot of changes. The décor in the reception lobby area had changed considerably – It looked more elegant.
After registration we made our way to our room. The hotel must have had a refurbishment process in place because the corridors and our room were designed in different colour schemes to what we knew. I must say that we were very pleasantly surprised.
I understand that hotels age quickly because of the volumes of tourists and turnover of the rooms.
The Dining Room also has undergone some change. Pleased to see that the carpet has been removed and new Table linen displayed.
Our room was cleaned daily and bed linen and towels were changed regularly and when we asked for the fridge to be stocked as a mini-bar. Service was great. Housekeeping staff were brilliant.
We prefer to seek out our own entertainment but there were a couple of occasions when we lingered to see what it was like. Karaoke, disco dancing and Maltese folklore: Not exactly our cup of tea. But most residents seemed to be enjoying themselves. Many Maltese also come to be entertained on a Saturday evening. This made the place very busy but it also gave us an opportunity to chat with a few of the locals. Such a small island and nearly 400,000 of them!
We had a room facing into the courtyard and some of the balconies are very close with each other. It would have been a bonus to have a room with a view. Having said that my idea of going on holiday is to swim, go out, explore and meet the locals, and should I wish to chill on the balcony, I am usually reading.
The swimming pool was good. Initially there was a shortage of sun-loungers, so we asked at reception and the matter was solved. The pool is not massive and I would imagine that in the peak of summer it would be extremely busy. However, because I am not keen on late morning or early afternoon bathing, when the heat gets unbearable, the pool was nice and quiet.
Because we have been on holidays before we know that some hotels employs a two-week menu rota. Although it is not the Petrus by Gordon Ramsay, it is absolutely fresh, tasty with a good selection one would expect from a buffet restaurant.
One thing that was annoying initially was the construction goings-on nearby. In the same breath I have to say that unfortunately, on this little island, there are construction sites in many of the touristy areas, including Sliema and Bugibba and also in the inner towns and cities
Having read some reviews, we were a apprehensive, however, there were occasions where I have seen tourists behaving badly and shamefully.
Dear holiday maker, I would urge you to read any review with a pinch of salt.

This is the second time this year we stayed at this hotel, it has improved since january . It boasts a 4 star but expect the place to be at most a 3 star. Staff are always friendly .Location is ok and not that far from the square at Bugibba where the local bus station is situated about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The local hit the hotel on the weekends and seating is in short supply on these days. Music is pretty shabby which is suppose to be the evening entertainment where long term residents bide their night away. I would not recommend this hotel to young people as a high percentage of holidaymakers are well over 50 or 60 years old. Putting that aside, it is cheap, clean and central to the main areas. Buses cost no more than 1 euro16cts to go anywhere on the island or the scenic routes taking a bit longer cost around 50 cents. A one hour bus ride for example cost us 56 cents each so its worth going just for a good bargain.Beware of time share touts, they are more or less on every corner hitting couples. they will take offer you all sorts ( holiday, cigarettes, wine, gold necklaces etc )and you loose half your day in some building being prompted into buying timeshares which cost in the region of £4.500 each upwards or up to £2.000 for 6 weeks holiday. Your holiday cost you about £100 a day is it worth wasting a day for 40 cigarettes. Go and enjoy the history, relax in the hotel and have fun but be mindfull of the above points

I chose this hotel for a peaceful holiday. I wanted to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. The room was adequate but spotlessly clean. We were awoken at 06.45 by the noise of building works right next to our room! The noise carried on until 16.30 every day. The rooftop pool area was shabby and also spoiled by further building work. Restaurant staff were in the main sullen and unhelpful, but all the bar staff were pleasant and attentive. Management and reception staff were particulerly unhelpful and refused to accept any complaints. The choice of food was very similar every night unless vegetarian, when the chef made a tremendous effort. Food from the buffet was always lukewarm and not very tasty.
Refurbishment works were going on each day such as painting, and guests had to walk around workmen. The building work will be going on for the forseeable future.
Considering the amount of money that I paid for this holiday, I expected far more.
There is very little for children to do and very few bars and restaurants in the area.
At least we experienced Malta as we were forced to go out most days for peace!

My husband and I had a most wonderful time. We hired a car as we wanted to make most of our short stay and were out all day only returning in time for a quick shower and a delightful evening meal.
Our room was always left clean and tidy by the housekeeping staff. The room was very comfortable, with all the mod cons, spacious, welcoming and clean. We felt very secure and cared for.
The staff in reception were exceptionally helpful and informative.
Special thanks go to Claude and his assistant at the Bar, who were always so cheerful, friendly and polite.
Dinner was something to look forward to. Complements to the Chef and his team for setting up such wonderful and tasty meals.
Lastly, a big thank you to the staff in the Housekeeping department. They do a wonderful job in the rooms. Highly commendable
We definately will be going back!

hotel staff not very friendly, needs updating. There was a nasty smell in bar area.Sensor lights as you come out of lifts not coming on soon enough, hence walking in pitch black for short while.Only had breakfast, it was warm and so was the milk and yoghurt (no cold shelf) never complained about a holiday before. This hotel is definately not a four *.Bring your own tea and coffee because you only get it in your room for the first day.
