A very nice hotel...
from MarkHowarth
Just returned from a weekend break to Andratx and the Hotel Mon Port. A good location, only about 5 minutes walk to the port area and about 10-15mins to the restaurant area. First impressions were excellent - the hotel reception area is very well presented and staff friendly. We were upgraded to a larger room, (6103) which had a large sitting area aswell as a separate bedroom. The room was very spacious, clean and had a reasonable sized balcony. The pool area is also very clean, peaceful and there were plenty of sunbeds available, none of which were packed in closely together. The pool bar is reasonably priced, again with excellent service. We used the Wellness Spa during our stay - all the facilities were excellent, staff were friendly, spoke very good English. Although we didnt eat in the restaurant for dinner, we did have breakfast which was of a good standard and a huge choice. All in all, an excellent hotel! As for the area, Puerto d'Andratx is amazing. A very nice area of Mallorca that hasn't been invaded by tourism and thousands of English holidaymakers. Lots of nice restaurants - we ate in 'Coche des 1977' and 'Trianon' [--] both of which were outstanding, the latter being the better of the two, although slightly more expensive, but defintely worth it.
Wonderful ... shame about the food
from Noswad
Very well worth the four star rating for quality of accommodation, services, recreation/pool, overall ambience etc. Staff were, without exception, excellent. Breakfast is an impressive buffet. Dinner is a buffet disappointment - splendid array of salads, cold meats, cheese, desserts, but but but the hot main course offerings were more than a little on the sad side eg rubber chicken and rubber calamari. That said, at Euro22.50 per person for the entire buffet, perhaps our disappointment was less than fair. On the plus side, though, we had a very early flight on the morning of our departure and the hotel very willingly arranged coffee, juice and a continental breakfast at what was a seriously uncivilised hour. The location is 15 minute walk from Port Andratx, where there is a multitude of restaurant alternatives to the hotel buffet. We recommend the hotel very warmly .... but eat dinner out.
Silly things really
from jeanandbrian
There were so many positives at this Hotel but a few silly things occurred that prevented me giving them 5 stars, Although a 4 star hotel the rooms were lacking a box of tissues. Only one bath towel per day per person was permitted....so if you bathed twice or more you had to use it time and again. Pool towels were only issued upon production of a voucher at the Spa.....away from the pool area......we were NEVER given any vouchers. I asked the Receptionist to book a car for me for 2 days....a simple enough request and it was arranged that it would be delivered the next morning at 9.30. The car was delivered and I was then told that a 2 day rental meant that I had to return the car the following night at 8 pm......less than 36 hours....if I wanted the car for 48 hours I had to rent for an extra day. I refused this and the receptionist and the car hire Rep gabbled on in Spanish and were laughing at me.....no support at all. Needless to say I rented elsewhere for the full 2 days at the same price. Other than that we enjoyed our 3 nights at Mon Port and would certainly return.
A very pleasant hotel!
from CarysWales
We have recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Mon Port . We found that overall the staff were very helpful and polite and all the public areas were very clean and tastefully furnished. We were upgraded to a suite (without asking!) with a large balcony located in the block just below the pool area, so it was lovely and quiet - Room 7101. The gardens and pool area were well kept but like most hotels in Majorca you need to get your towels down early, however there were some great hammocks to relax in!! Pool service was a bit non-existent so had to go up to pool bar to order any drinks. The pool bar/restaurant served good food - all the usual snacks - at reasonable prices. Breakfasts were relaxed and served an acceptable choice of food - there were plenty of outside tables with umbrellas over to enjoy an al fresco breakfast. During the evening we went down to the Barlovento restaurant just by the marina (hotel side of the port) and used to enjoy a waterside fish supper. We did not eat in the hotel in the night as the buffet dinner looked a bit uninteresting. Puerto Andraitx itself is a smallish resort without a beach, it is not too commercialised and does not have that many shops but plenty of restaurants together with plenty of boating activity. The hotel was mainly dominated by middle aged couples but there were also a few young familes. Overall we had a very relaxing holiday and would return to this hotel again.
Very enjoyable stay
from Axwell
We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of May on the recommendation of some friends and were not disappointed. It is a lovely hotel in excellent condition and with some nice touches. The room was very well furnished though not particularly big. The grounds are very nice (but in truth no better than other hotels we stayed at on this trip all of which were considerably cheaper). The food was excellent though again no better than the previous hotel. Port d'Andratx is beautiful and as others have pointed out, an upmarket resort which no doubt explains the prices (there is very little else to choose from). The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the main restaurant area but it is a very pleasant one. All in all we thought this hotel was excellent though if we went back we'd have a look in la Pergola (owned by the same people) next door which is considerably cheaper and you are allowed to use all the facilities of the main hotel. Our only criticism of the hotel is that it claims to be very wheelchair friendly. While it is ramped everywhere some of the ramps, including the crucial one from reception to the rooms is savage and could be negotiated by very few people propelling themselves.
Fabulous Hotel in an upmarket resort
from loving-the-travel
We have had a fabulous week at the Mon Port Hotel. As other reviews have mentioned, the photos do not lie, and we were extremely impressed with the surroundings, pool area, and rooms. We have travelled extensively throughout the world and it is well worth its four stars. Only a few less positive comments - they said the outdoor pool was heated, but it was still very chilly. There was however, a lovely indoor heated pool. Housekeeping won't provide an iron - you have to use the laundry service just to iron a shirt . A quick visit to the local shop to buy a travel iron overcame this problem. The reception staff were friendly enough but not overly helpful. The fabulous bar and restaurant staff made up for this. The restaurant has great food which is very reasonably priced and the lunches are also good. The Port is very upmarket with a huge variety of restaurants right next to the bay. A fabulous place to visit and I would highly recommend the hotel.
Quiet and Elegant
from holidaytracker
Great hotel - best 4 star we have been in! The brochure pictures and website do not lie - what you see is what you get - a nice peaceful homely hotel and no fighting over sunbeds - plenty of garden space. A car is helpful especially as the transfer is about 40 minutes from Palma and works out about the same price. Lots of restaurants in the Port about 10 mins walk - just a few locally but all pleasant. The staff were all polite and friendly. We had a late flight and although the hotel was full we were allowed to use the spa facilities to freshen up before our flight home. We would go back...it is a hidden gem so don't tell anyone else!
Outstanding
from A TripAdvisor Member
We spent five days in August at the Mon Port and couldn't understand why the Hotel is not a 5 star. The only possible reason might be the room sizes -not overgenerous but certainly adequate. Reception and restaurant staff were courteous and attentive, the food was outstanding and suited all our party (age ranges 5 to 70 years)and bar prices were very reasonable for such an upmarket hotel in a high class resort. The pool was clean, safe and extensive. Entertainment was very low key - this is not a nightlife destination. You'll need a car if you want a beach (Sant Elm is great) but that apart Andraitx has enough high class shops and restaurants to keep you going for a few days, and the port is great for watching rich people.
Can't wait to go back ...
from BabyBubbs
I first visited in 2004, then returned again in 2005 and am just about to book for 2006. If you check out their website the photographs are genuine. Beautiful rooms, cool and air-conditioned, with patio doors, some straight onto the grounds. Great pool and patio area with poolside bar, and indoor pool and leisure area too. Great restaurant with breakfast to cater for all tastes. Short walk into town for a variety of places to dine and shop, many near the beautiful harbour. Don't be fooled by the number of rooms ... with five smaller blocks this does not feel like a big hotel at all. Worth every penny / euro / dollar!!
Excellent

Was here the last week of their season in 2004. This is an excellent hotel. The staff were fabulous, the room was clean and comfortable. It was too cold to use the pool, but it really looks like the pictures. Pricing was reasonable, breakfast and lunch were fine. A short walk across the harbor from the town center of Port D'Antrax, the main shopping and eating area.

The hotel is exclusively small - by this I mean that it has less than 100 immaculately furnished rooms set in the most beautifully manicured gardens; plenty of staff on hand who were very well-mannered and extremely helpful. The restaurant was elegant and the food... more
