Mar 2007, Miss Ashley Roberts

It’s a shame the rating only goes to 10, I would have put it a lot higher! Our room was lovely very basic but nice, it’s not really needed anyway other then sleeping!
The staff at the Osborne were so genuinely lovely and caring even the bar staff! We stayed in phase 2 which is were the main reception is and everything we asked for we received in minutes!
We are returning to the Osborne hotel in November and I cannot wait
Thank you so much

Mar 2007, Ms L Gray

I have been in Goa 5 times and stayed at different hotels but the Osborne is by far the best. The rooms are basic, and are cleaned every day. The room boys were very helpful and the entertainment was great.
I must say the Manager, James made us feel very welcome and he has a great team working with him, especially Owen who looked after us for 3 weeks. We have booked for February next year and look forward to seeing all the friendly faces we met.

Just got back from The Osborne Hotel....

Mar 2007,  R H Bedford

Just got back from The Osborne Hotel.
A party of us stayed in Phase 3, although the complex was basic, the rooms were kept clean and all staff were helpful.
The only complaint I will make, is that breakfast was included; however only toast and a drink was included in the price, anything else was at an extra cost.
Was sad to leave and hopefully will go back there again soon.

We stayed in phase 1! The rooms were clean and the people who cleaned them were very friendly.
The food was nice and so were the milkshakes and the cocktails. All the waiters were very friendly especially Raj.
The apartment that was sold off separately that the other comment mentions, they were still there when we went and they were very friendly towards us, if you were to them.
If you ask they would turn the TV and music down or if you like their music they would turn it up for you.
Overall my holiday to Goa fabulous and boss like!

We stayed in phase 1. Although the rooms were very basic they were cleaned daily and had everything we needed really.
There was a mini bar in every room, which was re-filled daily with soft drinks, water and beers.
All the staff and the waiters were very friendly and if there was anything you needed, they would get it.
Also there entertainment going on over at phase 2 at night.
I would definitely go back!

I thought there was nothing to fault...

Mar 2007, Miss Roxanne Orr

I thought there was nothing to fault what so ever about this holiday. It is easily the best holiday I have been on.
There is plenty to do whether you are taking your family with young children, teenagers and adults can all find something to do.
I stayed for 16 days and loved every minute of it.
The hotel rooms were basic but homely and comfortable. The hotel staff were lovely and I have made friend for life. They are all entertaining and are so friendly. They love to help and are there to chat day and night.
I loved this holiday so much that I am returning in April for a month and plan to visit again after that.
I can guarantee that I will be visiting for many years to come because I know I will be welcomed by the local people and have loads to do.
I think people should all experience this Goan holiday in Calangute and experience what I did.

This hotel is in a good location - around a ten minute walk to the beach. There are also plenty of taxis available to take you to other beaches (we went to coco beach which was really nice).
The hotel room was quite spacious, with a nice sized bathroom. There were occasional power cuts, but they didn't last too long. The pool was OK, and there is a nice bar where you can buy food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We went in April and I found it very hot, which made it difficult to go out for the day. We went on a trip to a waterfall which I would recommend though.

Apr 2006, Miss C Rawson

We stayed at the Obsourne phase 3 a couple of years back and really enjoyed it so we decided to stay again. The rooms although basic were clean & good value for money, there was nightly entertainment a good pool and the staff were friendly.
However this time we found it a completely different experience. This time we were placed in Osbourne Phase 1 (presumably because we didn’t want pay extra for air conditioning). The rooms although clean were not of the same standard as phase III. We found that some of the apartments had been sold off privately.
Our neighbours were noisy one in particular had the TV full blast all night and until the early hours of the morning. We complained in all four times but nothing was done.

Ideal location close to shops...

Feb 2006, Mrs V.e. Wells

Ideal location close to shops supermarket 5min walk to beach though the local village best selection of beach shacks in this area.
The hotel has 2 phases, both have own swimming pool and bar for drinks and snacks and evening meals. One has music playing and the other has live entertainment most nights. The staff are so friendly. The rooms are immaculate. The room boys are very keen to impress with their skills of towel artistry.
Taxis outside hotel for £1 you can go to Calangute town centre lots of shops very, very busy lots of great eating places within walking distance for the evening. Everything so close at hand at this 2 star that behaves like a 3 star.
We have already booked to go back again it was our 1st visit to the Osborne cant wait and this will be our 22nd time to Goa mostly to Calangute for its locality and choice.

The room was big but quite basic. We had a few problems with the air conditioning in our first room, but were moved to another room straight away.
The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from the beach which can be quite tough in the heat! but there were plenty of taxis available so you could be driven to nicer beaches further away.
The hotel had some evening entertainment, a good sized pool and a pool table. The staff were friendly, and I would recommend this hotel.

Although the accommodation was basic, it was kept beautifully clean by the room boys. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly and went out of their way to help.
We found the hotel was a little further from the beach than we wanted, but the taxis attached to the hotel were very reasonably priced.
We would definitely consider going back to the same resort again, as we found that it had everything we wanted from a holiday.
Calangute also offered a variety of fantastic restaurants which catered for our sometimes fussy eating habits. We also found it was a good base from which to take advantage of the many sight-seeing trips and tourist sites.

The Osborne is basic, beds are hard...
6 / 10
Jan 2006, galian

The Osborne is basic, beds are hard and furniture sparse and old, but it is clean and in a good location. Staff are very friendly. The themed nights are not too good, very average entertainment and the food OK. Having said all that I would go back there if I ever return to Goa. Calangute itself is busy but not full of night life or drunks.
There is alot of rubbish about which I wasn't prepared for, and there are alot of beggars. Main age range of holiday makers seems to be 35+. The food is good with a variety of restaurants. My favourites were Little Italy, a vegetarian pizza place within walking distance of the hotel, After Seven, an upmarket restaurant in the centre and my very favourite, East Meets West in Baga, a five minute taxi ride from hotel. Worth seeing are the waterfalls (2 hour taxi), Ashwem beach (40 min taxi). Calangute beach OK but full of sun lounger touts (sunloungers free but they want to get you on them so you'll buy drinks from their bar). It can get alittle wearing with the constant pestering but apparently "Macka Nacka" means I don't want it.
Candolim beach is much quieter and nicer (walking distance or short taxi ride). Taxi's are very cheap and they wait for you even if it's all day. Hubby did get an upset tummy, which lay him low for a day, as did most people at some stage of their holiday.
All in all it was a very good holiday, we met loads of people that had been 11 or 12 times although for me it wasn't the paradise that I'd expected. Best bits - lovely people, no yobbos, no crime, worst bits - quite dirty, pestering.
