got a cheap weekend deal there and what a deal it was smashing wee place, rooms were basic but did the trick, food was plentiful you could always find something you,ll like, staff were great (the wee barman especially), mostly germans at the hotel but they were really nice,... more

My daughter and I have just returned from Majorca Arenal Hotel Palma Mazas. We thought the hotel was slightly above average considering it is only a two star hotel and the whole package was fairly cheap. Rooms were adequate very clean plenty of cupboard space, maid service everyday and a nice view from the balcony. Very helpful staff, especially Theresa on Reception. I went to the palma mazas with my son in august 2003 and did not find it to bad I go to arenal a few times regulary every year and I love the place,I dont normally stay at this hotel but it was the only one that I could get in august at short notice. It was not to bad there apart from no air con as it was so humid at the time, meals were basic but addeqiute,yes the swimming pool was small but the beach is 5 miles of white sand and shallow waters and there are quite a few english bars there that will give you a warm welcome, and must... more

I went to the palma mazas expecting to have a terrible time having read the reviews after booking my trip. The reviews had stated that there were rats behind the hotel, the holiday from hell was next door and the pool had only 9 sunbeds. I went in June 2004 and the only rats I spotted were big rabbits to the back of the building the holiday from hell hotel was on a different street and their were nine sunbeds around the pool but a further 10 on the garden above. when we were staying here there was only 9 sunbeds for all the guests-the food was very plain and repetive with little choice the room was basic but clean. familys with children had to bring in food for the kids breakfasts. it is also up a steep hill from the beach.
