We absolutely loved this resort. the staff and locals were VERY pleasant and VERY friendly despite what others are saying on this website. My husband and I ate in the resort 5 days out of 7 and had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all great service, reasonably priced and... more

My husband and I have just returned from a 7night self catering break at the Duna Beach in Maspolomas Gran Canaria. We chose the self catering option so that we could have the flexibility of eating at different places.and I am so glad that we did. Because of the time of year... more

Not the greatest holiday I have had and not the worst. VERY basic accommodation and not much information on anything. Nothing in the apartment equipment wise i.e. no kettle or toaster (had to rent them which was 60 euro for 2wks!) Very disappointed in the fact that it is... more

Arriving at the hotel we were shown to a tiny one-bedroom apartment for our family of four, despite having booked a two bed one. At Reception I met a lady complaining about the same thing (as the fortnight developed we learned that this seems to be standard practice!).... more

If you under 50, dont bother!!!!!!!!
Me and two of my friends stayed in a bungalow in Duna Beach over the new year, and frankly we had the most amazing holiday, which was almost ruined by the accomadation! We were supposedly upgraded last minute, but if that is the case i dread to see what our original accomadation was like. i feel it imperative to warn other travellers what an awlful place this is. On the face of it, it looks rather pleasant, and for the money, its exactly what you'd expect, however, its in the middle of no where!!! you couldnt walk to either playa de... more
Superb
We started off in a hotel in Playa Del Ingles which was absolutely attrocious to say the least. We were moved on the 2nd day of our holiday to Duna Beach and it was well worth the extra £450 we had to pay. If you are looking for a nice quiet holiday just to relax by the excellent pool during the day and then go to many of the superb resturants in Playa itself. We usually got a taxi to the Grande Chapperal which cost about £2 each way. Cannot fault the Duna Beach in any way, the staff are very friendly and the supermarket owner is English,... more
A good base! Not the easiest place to find...very servicable.
Our initial journey to Bungalows Duna beach was, to say the least, an experiance. Having hired a car at the airport, We arrived in Maspalomas at 11pm on the rainiest night of the year. We drove around for ages trying to find the place. eventually asking in a hotel who gave us a map with the location. So a map of the location is a must if you are making your own way there. The bungalow itself was basic, but sufficient for the purpose. (I measured it up as the design would make an ideal granny flat!) The site is a typically spanish,... more
Good value for money!
We booked this as a cheap last minute holiday for some sun, so wasn't expecting too much. We booked Duna Beach Apartments after some friends had been earlier in the year. I booked it through a spanish website and paid £150 for the apartment for the week which sleeps 3. You do get what you pay for, so don't expect a fully stocked kitchen and air conditioning. Everything can be rented for a price. The apartments were full of Spanish people on hols which didn't bother us as they seem to stay up later than us and were 3 girls in our mid... more
Its well worth the money....
We have stayed at this complex about 5 times, the biggest thing to remember is you get what you pay for. This is always one of our cheapy holidays out of seasons and it averages out to approx £250 per person per week. Yes the kitchen is small with little storage but i don't go on holiday to spend my week cooking and cleaning, it is absolutely fine for making tea / coffee and light snacks. The most important thing to me is that the place is clean, it is a little tired looking but the bedding has always been cleaned and there is a... more
Such a pity...
We have just got in from the airport and I feel that it is the right time to write this. Duna Beach bungalows has really tried to improve itself over the years and in the main it has. BUT.. Just 3 real gripes. The entertainment... Well, if your idea of fun is an excellent guitarist accompanying an awful and repetitive 'singer' then you'll enjoy this. Unfortunately just two repertoires. The first on Monday the next on Tuesday then back to number one etc. broken up by a 'Professional show' on two night out of seven. 'Please release me'... more
Was very comfortable
After reading other reviews on duna beach prior to going away i was worried with what i would expect when we arrived. However unlike some people said the man on reception was very helpful, one of our party members was disabled and he helped us to our room as it was late at night. When we arrived at a our bungalows they were very comfortable, the kitchen area was small and basic but it was very clean and nothing to moan about!! The bedroom was a very good size and the bathroom was good too. The only problem was that the rooms are very hot you... more
Great place at a great price
We've just returned from a very enjoyable week at the Duna Beach Bungalows (are the "apartments" another complex?). These were booked with Seligo and cost just over £10 per person per night for the week, so I wasn't expecting much. However we were pleasantly suprised: -the bunaglow was spacious for two (maybe a squeeze for 3) and kept very clean (a maid came every day but one and changed the towels/bedding and cleaned). - cooking facilities are basic and include two rings, a fridge with icebox and basic... more
Anyone Speak English ????
We booked this holiday through an internet late deal company & had to rely on limited pictures of the resort & accomodation, which looked very nice. We had a night flight which arrived @4.15am & got a taxi to Duna Beach. On arrival, the reception door was locked & all the lights were out. We stood at the door & a grumpy spanish man let us in, no welcome, said nothing - so we handed our paperwork over the desk. He gave us our apartment keys & pointed on a board where to find the bungalow, showed us the door & left us to struggle all the... more
excellent place indeed
We stayed in the duna beach bungalows in Maspalomas in April 2005 and we were absolutely delighted. The place is magnificent with a lot of tropical flowers . The staff are doing their best to keep the garden (watering the flowers and cutting the hedges) and it is very pleasant to stay in a green environment. As for the accommodation we may say we were very comfortable even if there was no electric kettle... the double swimming pool was clean and large enough for many people:we never felt packed at all and there were plenty of deckchairs...A... more
