" what brilliant apartments, staff are... "

what brilliant apartments, staff are excellent and deal with any problems quickly and efficiently, i have been there 3 times so far and in them three years i have only witnessed 1 cockcroach. this is an A***************** place for a fantastic holiday. The area is a bit quiet for party people however, it only costs 7 euros to get into maspalomas which is full of fun and a beautiful beach. will go back any day!!!!!

You think that this hotel is 5* is laughable. I've stayed in 5* hotels before, and this one would struggle to make 3*.
There was no concierge or reps, although the staff were quite helpful when we thought my wife's bag had been stolen.
We were kept waiting 2 1/2 hours in the lobby when we arrived even though we had a 1 year old child, without any amenities for feeding or changing him. In the room, the floor was dirty and sandy when we arrived, the fridge freezer and dishwasher were both dirty and heavily rusted. This became even more apparent when the dishwasher flooded our floor, and the engineer lifted the dishwasher only for the bottom of it to fall off due to rust.
The inspection hatch in the floor of the bathroom was rusted, and the patio doors were only securely lockable using a lump of wood that they leave for you.
Outside, the rubber matting on the floor of the children’s playground was dangerously uneven, the sandpit was empty of sand, and the access to the beach involved negotiating 3 flights of steep stairs. Not exactly child friendly.
The only saving grace was the evening's entertainment which was varied and enjoyable.
When I asked the front desk about the start rating of the hotel, he just pointed to the 5* certificate on display behind him. This was dated from 1998. I don't think it's been inspected or updated/maintained since then.
To make matters worse, the cleaner took my wife's nightdress in with the laundry, and when we questioned the manager about this, he said that there was nothing that they could do about it because the laundry people hadn't seen it and couldn't find it. 3 weeks after we arrived home, I received a letter through the post from the hotel saying that they had found the nightdress and they wanted me to pay for them to post it to us. Absolutely ridiculous.
Don't go there!

" I have visited Airtours Beach Club at... "

I have visited Airtours Beach Club at different times of the year. It is a beautiful, well kept and well equipped hotel. A lot of these apartments are owned by 'timeshare' owners so I assume that their 'maintenance' payments pay for the accommodation to be kept in good order.
This is really not the place for a crowd of girls or a crowd of lads. Its more family orientated and obviously with it being 5* the last thing the guests want are rowdy groups.
The surroundings are lovely and the gardens are very well kept. Only problem is some of the 'vegetation areas' have grown rather tall so if you are in the lower 'D' apartments, i.e. 1st or 2nd floor your view may be that of a tree!
The hotel is quite secluded whereby there are no restaurants or pubs next door but there is a short walk into the small town where are a couple to choose from. Obviously the hotel has a bar and restaurant of its own.
