Balito Beach Apartments Reviews
" Great apartments with some excellent... "
Submitted By: Mr P Auton
Great apartments with some excellent views. Rooms were very clean with maid service everyday, changing towels and mopping floors.
The time of year we went, was way to hot, 35-40 degree's everyday, only down fall was no air conditioning in the rooms. Reception staff were really helpful and friendly 10/10
Puerto Rico was about five minutes away from the apartments, a taxi ride away but well worth it. Excellent restaurant and bars with friendly staff especially El Toro which has to be experienced.
My wife and I are planning to go back next year as it was an excellent holiday destination for us both.

" Just wanted to say these apartments... "

Just wanted to say these apartments were lovely and clean bed sheets and towels changed regularly. There is only one place to eat at the hotel however while we were there the food was lovely and always had people their, there was a barbecue themed night one night and every night there was "nino" the singer who was good entertainment.
The pool was lovely and clean and never got crowded and plenty of sun beds which are free. A short bus ride away or a taxi as they are both nearly the same price (2 euro 10 for the bus for 2 people or 3 euro for the taxi) and you were in the town of puerto rico.
Lots of places to eat, plenty of bars, crazy golf and a massive commercial centre with loads of shops and the lovely beach with loads of water sports including the big red speedboat, parasending, jet ski's, pedalos, diving, glass bottom boat etc. Just a short walk away from the balito apartments there is a private beach which you can walk onto lovely and sandy and clean, more places to eat and drink English food, Mexican, Chinese and Indian etc.
You can book through the rep or at the hotel to go out on jeep safari or camel rides etc, there really is loads to do and the hotel staff are friendly. We had a really good holiday here and would come back.

" I stayed at these holidays on a last... "

I stayed at these holidays on a last minute allocation on arrival deal. The apartments are clean, maid was in every two days and towels changed just as often. There was a microwave, toaster, cooker and kettle in the room.
It was slightly outside Puerto Rico so you have to get a taxi in but there are loads and are pretty cheap (4 euros). Because PR is in a valley, most apartments are up high so you would have to get a taxi down anyway so this made no difference to us.
Reception are very helpful. You can cash traveller’s cheques and they will call you a taxi when ever you need it. There are safety deposit boxes in the rooms and it cost us 15 Euros for the week, well worth the money to keep your belonging safe. The pool bar is good, around 3/4 euros for burger and chips, that sort of thing.
At night there was entertainment from a dodgy Spanish singer with an electric keyboard but it was funny! And on a Friday night there is an Elvis impersonator who was very good, not at impersonating but he made some good jokes as well.
We had a sea view apartment which was amazing. The onsite shop was a bit expensive, cheaper in PR but by the time you pay for a taxi into PR, you’re just as well buying from the shop.
The pool was an OK size, very clean and there are plenty of sun loungers to go round. There is also a phone box on site as well which is handy.
Was so hot at the time of year we went that i asked to hire a fan, was told at the moment they don’t offer that service but the receptionist did say that is will be available in the future as lots of guest had been asking.
Overall I think the Balito Beach Apartments are really handy for PR and we really enjoyed our stay there.

" Well what can I say! In the hotel... "
Submitted By: Miss J Reay
Well what can I say! In the hotel there is nothing to do and I mean nothing. Throughout the week I stayed, the restaurant was "closed" due to new order whatever that means. we were on a self catering holiday so eat out most evenings. Also there was a snack bar by the pool were the food was horrible!
This snack bar was also used as the main bar in the hotel with one member of staff. He was not over run though because no one was ever in this snack bar. The shop was yes ever expensive! 3 euros for a pot noodle what a joke. There was a stray cat roaming outside my room most of the week wanting to be fed.
Although I was not impressed with the hotel a short taxi ride to Puerto Rico costs about 2-3 euros was beautiful not for the lively!

" I have never written a review before... "

I have never written a review before but just had to on this place. One there is no where to go unless you get a taxi (no free bus to the beach) the place is really dirty and over run with cockroaches and ants even in our food store.
We moved once and the room was just has bad, towels and sheets all had holes in them and everything is up hill with over 75 steps per climb.
The shop is very expensive and only open for a few hours per day. Only go here if you get it extra cheap and be prepared to walk miles and take your own cleaning materials. We couldn't wait to leave.

Granted, there was not a lot going on but if you just want somewhere to chill out for a week, The Balito Beach is ideal.
Rooms are clean and well equipped, (toaster and microwave) plenty of sun loungers round the clean pool but if you don't want to go out boozing every night I suggest you take a portable DVD player as the TV’s reception is rubbish as well as having only Spanish channels. Anfi Resort is worth a visit. Some of the reps stay at Ballito so they can tell you how to get in and out!
The tour rep will try and sell you tickets for Sin City, a western bbq and show. This is very expensive and very over rated, it's popularity being the free bar which a lot of people take full advantage off!
All in all, I would go back again with my husband as it is an ideal base to explore the south of Gran Canaria.
