arrived home last feeling exhausted and disappointed by the whole experience of staying in this hotel for 7 nights. full of noisy students that did not know the meaning of wait your turn, they hung around dining room , stairs, reception, making us feel very uncomfortable having to constantly push through large groups to get from one part of hotel to another. kept awake all night by noise on stairwell and lifts. the shower didnt work, the beds were uncomfortable , there was no hanging space in wardrobe, the view was none exsistant, the food was awful, and the terrace was dirty. We did not expect luxury, but this place was far, far worse than any other 3star hotel we have stayed in and to top it all on the transfer home we got chatting to another british couple who had only stayed two out of their seven booked nights because the husband had been thrown across the room with an electric shock when going to turn on the light, that just sums up the standard of everything at this hotel. If you have booked here and got the chance to change hotels then please do so or be very very disappointed. You could not pay me to go back.this should only be one star or classed as a hostel.

My partner and I have just returned from a 6 night break at Hotel Kristal, Torremolinos.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. It is based right in the heart of Torremolinos, on the doorstep are all the shops, bars and restaurants. The train station and Torremolinos square are 50 yards away.
As for the accomodation it is very, very basic. The breakfast was appalling and wouldn't even qualify as Continental in my book, there were a couple cereals, few slices of ham and some dried bread. Our room should have been a double but instead was a triple. The beds were the noisiest i've ever had the displeasure of sleeping on, i dared not to roll over for fear of waking the whole hotel up. Noise levels in the hotel although not excessive seemed to travel throughout and kept us awake most of the night. Fortunately for us the room next door was unoccupied until our last night. I discovered this because a Spanish couple moved in and may aswell have roomed with us. Never known walls to be so thin. The end result was that what should have been a relaxing week turned out to be exhausting.
Please also be aware that Torremolinos is a very Homosexual friendly resort, and this was clearly reflected by the hotel guests. Wasn't a problem to my fiancee and I, but be prepared. Also the Spanish government operate a scheme where they subsodise pensioners breaks, they use this hotel so expect to have to pass crowds of ignorant spanish old ladies on occassions, and don't expect your good manors to be reciprocated.
All in all, if you a very heavy sleeper who is lookin for budget accomodation in a good location then maybe consider Hotel Kristal. I know for one that I will never be returnign again.

Stayed there with family (5 of us). The hotel is situated in the middle of Torremolinos as the brochures say. The problem really for us brits is that the hotel mainly caters for the spanish who seem to be there on short breaks etc and tend to be generally very loud with the usual screaming at each other in conversation. The food in the hotel was again for us brits not very good as the breakfast was exactly the same every morning and the food in the evening was sometimes short of appertising. On very hot days a dip in the pool is out of the question as there isn`t one although there is a small terrace to sunbathe on which again isn`t really very pleasant. I would probably stay there again if I was on a short break for shopping and sightseeing but definitely not for a holiday.

My partner and I are just back from a 10 day stay in this hotel and we were not impressed. In the advert for this hotel it shows a white facade with balconies but this is not the entrance to the hotel, tyhe actual entrance being down a small lane and tucked away in amongst shops and the balconies of which there are only 9 out of 129 rooms 7 look out onto the main road and the other 2 look into a wall. Every time you went in and out of the hotel you passed the wonderful aroma of sewage. The food was awful and usually cold. Bathrooms in dire need of refurbishment. If you are only having one holiday this year pay a bit more and go to a better hotel if this is all you can afford go room only and eat out. We gave it a rating of 1 and this was for the staff who were very helpful and pleasant.
