Hotel Description:
The Hotel Torremar is a modern hotel, located close to the promenade of Torre del mar and the town centre. It is situated in an unspoilt town on the way to Nerja, away from some of the busier resorts of the Costa del sol. This is a great base for a beach holiday away from the masses in the real Spain. loading...

The room was small with a side balcony over looking some apartments. Our daily view was washing a on a line. There was no fridge or kettle in the room. Only small storage and tiny bathroom. The TV showed many German, French and Spanish stations but only BBC news in English.
We were without hot water 2 days out of 7. The food, oh dear. Breakfast was same each day, fried eggs sat in 2inches of fat and bacon which was also in fat and not cooked well. Cereal of poor quality, then bread for toast. Tea and coffee were best aspect of breakfast. Evening meal was at 8.30 till 10pm, way too late. Soup every night, which was poor but best part of the meal. Chips for 7 nights, with meat of some description. No menu in English so you had to guess what it was or struggle with Spanish speaking staff to guess. Veg was cooked with garlic and not nice. The for dessert cold rice pudding, mouse, ice cream or bakes apple every night. We really struggled to find anything we enjoyed. The only other option was salad which was at best boring. The only good thing all beer, wine and soft drinks were free at dinner. Maybe that was to help you forget how bad the food was.
We had problems with very noisy Spanish guests 2 nights following a wedding. No swimming pool in hotel, no entertainment and the bar was in the cafeteria and lacked any atmosphere.
On the whole I couldn’t rate this hotel better than 2 star. A very disappointing holiday when we expected a great week. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
