To anyone considering staying at this hotel my advice would be simply DON’T!!
I had booked a room for 2 weeks and within the first week have been moved twice because the air conditioning has broken down.
The entire hotel is within desperate need of a complete overhaul as the mattresses are old and uncomfortable, the paint is flaking off the walls and the cooking facilities within the self catering rooms either do not work or are too dirty to consider putting food in.
Having complained at 10pm one night that the air con did not work in the second room I was given I was told by the receptionist "What do you expect me to do about it?" After a few suggestions were offered and two hours later they said they had searched the entire hotel for another room - which turned out to be next door to the one I was already in! For reasons unrelated to the hotel I needed to return from my holiday early however this decision was made easier by knowing I would not have to spend another night there!
Several people I have spoken to were staying at The Qwara Palace hotel (a 10 minute walk from the BHC) and all stated the food and service were excellent. If you do decide to stay at the BHC you were warned and I hope you have a better experience then I did.

This was our 3rd year visiting Malta and we again decided to book the Bugibba Holiday Complex. This was also our 3rd stay in the complex and this time we decided to go Self Catering. The room was in need of refurbishment, the shower was dirty and you did not want to ever take a shower. However, you had to grin and bear it and take a very quick shower.
The Bugibba Holiday Complex staff were not the friendliest, the entertainment at night was poor. We have since gone back to Malta in August 2003 and stayed in San Anton Hotel, St. Paul’s Bay and it was lovely. This year we have decided to stay in the Topaz Hotel in St. Paul’s Bay.
I would not go back to BHC or would I recommend it. The room really did leave a lot to the imagination compared to the pictures in the brochures and surprise, surprise I do not think Direct Holidays do BHC in their brochures.
I would rather stay in a tent than BHC.

Flew from Newcastle to Bugibba. Had 2-bedroom apartment as there were 5 of us including my 2 young sons. Apartment looked bit worn but clean, lots of room & everything worked!
Kids enjoyed pool but opening hours could’ve been longer. Quite long walk to seafront, a problem for my mum who can’t walk far. Seafront scenic. Enjoyed underwater boat ride here. Hired a car & explored the island, enjoyed capitol Valetta, Popeye village( nice sandy beach near here one of few on Malta), lots of ruins, caves & got car ferry over to Gozo which is a bit more green than the main island which is very sparse.
Lots to do though and good value for money.
