Elif Hotel Reviews
" Fantastic!! "
Submitted By: EGH92Most of our time was spent on the beach with the hotels beach boy Sergio, he was absolutley fantastic and couldn't of done enough of us. He saved us sunbeds right by the sea everyday and kept us all amused.
The hotel waiters were great, especially Ahmed, Ali and John. They had all of us up dancing, they kept everybody amused from our parents to our little sister. The service in the restaurant was impeccable and the food was lovely.
Turkish night was one of our favourite evenings, the BBQ and buffet was delicious. And the entertainment was amazing. We went to all 3 of the turkish nights that were on while we where there and the entertainment was different every week.
We couldn't of had a better time at the Elif Hotel and would like to thank all of the staff and we all look forward to returning next year.
Emily and Natalie.

" BRILLIANT!!!! "
Submitted By: freedensonThe breakfast here is not brilliant its very basic turkish with no juice for children, but the simple answer is... buy something the rest of the food is good.
The staff, mehmet, ali, ahmed, antonio, alex and the rest of them are super, nothing is too much trouble, we have never felt so welcomed anywhere before and we cannot wait to go back next year.
So, if your looking for 5 star quality then the elif is not for you, if your looking for somewhere clean to sleep with fantastic staff and in a brilliant location, then give the elif a try im sure you wont regret it!!
see you soon

" fab "
Submitted By: fernmooWe were given another room 2 days later the bathroom was still the same this time we couldnt even use the sink as it was blocked completely. However the view was fantastic. Maid service is also very good every day, clean towels beds and room and she was a little trooper.
Breakfasts are poor boiled eggs, cucumber, tomatoe and feta cheese with bread. That is it no fruit or juice. We didnt eat at the restaurant for the first week as we were that shocked. However when we found out the set up of the hotel and separate breakfast arrangment , We had some fantastic meals there. Mehmet and Antonio were great, couldn,t do enough for you and the bar staff were a great laugh.
Without the staff I dont think we would have put up with the basic hotel they made our holiday FAB.
The plus side of this hotel is location on the beach free sunbeds, free aircon, great staff, food from restaurant elif, Also they gave us a fantastic send off that we will never forget.
Overall i believe that if the hotel ripped the bathrooms out and sorted the plumbing it could have a higher rating than it has now.
Advice: Have been here 4 times beautiful place people are friendly and plenty to do and see.
Activities: B&S cafe on the beach front , Elif restaurant, Alins grill on main road. Not Taj Mahal in Marmaris

" Never agaIn "
Submitted By: Mark and IanWe have used basic hotels many times in the past but never found one as bad as this place. The rooms were reasonably clean but the bathrooms could do with a really good clean. Both the sink and the toilet were cracked and the shower overflowed if you used it for more then a couple of minutes. Don`t expect a hot shower either. In 14 days spent there we only had hot water on 3 days.
The chairs provided on the balconies would be laughable if not for the fact they were unusable. All the joints on these old wooden dining chairs were coming apart and an attempt to repair them had been made by hammering a few nails into them.
We found every time we entered or left the hotel a nightmare as you had to walk through the bar area. Every time we were asked why we didn`t eat or drink there all the time and chose to go elsewhere. Sorry but we had booked bed and breakfast and didn`t feel we were under any obligation to eat their mediocre overpriced food. On the 2 occaisions we did we were joined by at least one of the waiters/barmen who insisted on regaling us of their sexual exploits with the female guests, and even offering to introduce us to a Russian prostitute who plied her trade for £10.
The only good point we found for the hotel was its proximity to the beach and its free sunbeds, although there is a downside. You can`t miss the Elifs beach area, just look for the bit with broken sunbeds and tatty torn mattresses, it was embarassing to be seen laid on them. Also beware of being charged for using them by Sergio the beachboy as they are supposed to be free to hotel guests. Also dont ask Sergio to bring you water while on the beach. A large bottle of water can be bought in local shops for 1tl, the hotel charged 3tl and Sergio charged 5tl.
Now onto the hotel breakfast. If you are not bothered what you, eat go for it. It is a typical Turkish breakfast, but of very poor quality. We felt this was to encourage you to buy a cooked breakfast, but you could buy a very good full English breakfast locally for £2,which was a lot less than the Elif charged.
We could go on to complain even further about this hotel but what would be the point. If you want somewhere cheap but grotty to go for your holidays then the Elif is for you.
Advice: Do not got to the reataurant called Vallentinos. I would not feed their food to my dog.
Activities: Try the restaurant called The Rock Pool. We had a superb 3 course dinner with steak for £7.

Submitted By: Miss J Shepherd/HowarthThe rooms at the Elif are basic, but very clean and well kept - the maid is superb! For elderly/disabled people, the shower-room may be dangerous though.
Huge thanks to all the staff.

" 4th time to Icmeler and a different... "
Submitted By: Miss A ProudloveThe Elif is perfectly located for the beach and the main restaurants and bars. Very big rooms and lovely views. Really clean.
There is no fridge but the air conditioning is included in the price.
There is a nice pool area however, we spent all our time on the jetty at 'Liberty Bar' at the end of the promenade by the harbour.
The restaurant at The Elif is nice, staff are brilliant, food is great and prices are very good. (Especially the set menus) If they have eought interest, the put on a Turkish night which is well worth going to.
The one problem with this hotel is there is no lift. Luckily enough, there are only 4 floors so not much of a climb but for the less able, it would probably be better to stay somewhere else.
I will continue going to Icmeler as I think it is a brilliant resort and has something for everyone. If you like a quiteish holiday then you can take yourself off and find a nice little bar off of the main roads or if you want a bit of a wild time then you ears will lead you to the action.
My favorite restaurants: Coco Beach - on the promenade, Harry Steakhouse - on the main road by the cash machines, Liberty - on the promenade at the harbour end, Waterfall - on the main road over on the left of the resort, Harmony - Next to Liberty (Stella show is a must)
My favorite hotels in order of preferance: 1. Mar Bas 2. Dilhan 3. Elif 4. Golmar
We booked independantly, the transfers and hotel with a company called Icmeler Online. We found these brilliant. Because they are a smaller company the transfer time was 1.40mins (we had a mini bus to ourselves). When we went with Thomas Cook it took us 3hrs! They don't hastle you to go on excursions and they don't interupt your holiday with silly welocme meetings. Also, you only ever pay a deposit in this country and the balance is due when you get to resort. Gives you moe time to save and the interest stays in your pocket!
We booked flights with the cheapest company we could find. Icmeler Online will find you flights aswell if you want.
