Wonderful experience
We stayed here at the recommendation of everyone on tripadvisor and were extremely happy with our decision. The staff was the most attentive we have ever expderienced (tipping is huge in Egypt) and the guy that cleaned our room every day did a fantastic job, even picking flowers and laying them in our bed in all sorts of arrangements for us to find each time we came back to the room. The breakfast buffet was pretty good as are the burgers at the pirate bar, the rest of the time we ate out at restaurants, which were very good as well. The pools were pretty big, though nothing compared the other Hilton across the street, but the pool with the wetbar was pretty impressive and you could even get a massage poolside, though we never did, nor saw anyone else getting one. All in all, it was a great experience, just about the only thing wrong with this hotel was that it lacked a shuttle to the airport, but it only costs 30-40 egyptian pounds to get there anyway. Great hotel, great staff. Will definitely stay here next time we come to Sharm.
Great time at the Hilton Fayrouz
Just got back from a great stay at the Fayrouz. Lovely hotel, clean rooms, nice pools and the staff were always friendly and cheerful. Fantastic beach just on your doorstep, with beautiful clear water. The snorkelling is superb just from the beach (there are small reefs within 30 feet from the shore). Good service on the beach with good food. We went bed and breakfast as the main area of shops and restaurants is only a 2-3 min walk. Loads of selections for food in naama bay. Would recommend KanZaman opposite the Hard Rock Cafe also had a nice meal in the Dananeer(upstairs at opposite end of the main drag in town) also the camel bar has a good atmosphere and the roof area is great for fresh air and views over Sharm. Used the dive centre in the hotel (Sinai dive club) - would recommend that too. They were attentive provided a good professional service (Used Camel a few years ago and they too were professional but we did feel like just a number there). If you are a diver Ras Mohammed and the Thistlegorm were definite highlights.
Always stay at the Fayrouz
Just returned from our 5th Stay at the Fayrouz. As always it felt like home. The rooms are really little one room and a bathroom cottages in the garden with your own private veranda, just the place to sit in the evening before 'doing the prom'. Suggest B&B as there are about 100 resturants in Naarma Bay and you are spoilt for choice. The Eqyptian resturant, enterance at the side of the Hard Rock Cafe, and the Mexican are two of our favorites. But if you want a steak the beach side resturant by the Camel dive centre is good. Prices are cheap, a meal for two with drinks will be about £20-25. If you are brave they do have an Eqyptian wine, but imported wines are dear. The beach at the Fayrouz is increadibly clean, and service with a smile at all times. There has been an increase in security over the last few years understandably, but this is as unintrusive as possible, although we did see non residents being asked to leave the beach area. You only have to walk into the water to see loads of fish, one plea, (well two actually) please do not be tempted to feed them, the ecosystem in the Red sea in a delicate state and the coral and fish very precious, also please don't walk on the coral, as this kills it, and by default kills all those lovely fish you have come to see. Take the usual precautions when eating and drinking, even use the bottled water for making tea and washing teeth and you should be OK. The salads in the hotel are washed in bottled water, and th ice is made from bottled water, but I would be wary of these elsewhere. As for diving I suggest Emperor divers, they have a base by the Rosetta hotel and one by the new casino in the town. They will also do a 'try diving' day and take non diving partners on the boats to snorkel. Also if you do go diving please leave any books, UK magazines and newspapers for your instructor, these are hard to come by and always welcome, and anyway it reduced the weight on the way back. We wil be back next year at the Fayrouz and I am sure it will be a good as ever.
Great Hotel
We have just returned from a week at the Hilton Fayrouz, everything was great nothing bad to say about the hotel. The room was simple but had everything that we required and was always kept very clean. The service was always first class. When returning to Sharm el Shiekh we would only stay at the Hilton Fayrouz. Would recommend a visit to the Camel Bar complex in the centre it has good bars and good food!!
Excellent Hotel
Spent 2wks 30March at the Hilton Fayrouz, two adults and two children (10yrs/6yrs) at "Front Row" Connecting rooms. Agree with the comments that the Bathrooms could do with a little updating but otherwise could not complain about anything. I would recomend front row rooms if you can as these are closer to the beach although no where in the hotel is far. Gardens were increadible and constantly maintained. Rooms cleaned every day with new towels twice a day and lovely decorations on the beds with flowere/petals etc! We stayed B+B but food is not expensive and I would recommend the Italian restaraunt situated on the beach. It was our Daughters birthday and they decorated the room and presented a birthday cake during dinner. Breakfast excellent and the Restaraunt Manager "Ahmed" paid special attention to the children. Kids club was great just to drop off the kids for an hour or two when you wanted a break. Beach was fantastic with good snorkeling for the beginners and kids. Glass bottom boats and all the usual beach sports provided plus a beach bar and waiter service. Nightly entertainment but so close to Naama Bay you could take your pick. Happy hour in the coctail bar was great after you came off the beach and watch the sun go down. Second time in Sharm and the previous time we stayed outside of the resort. Being in the resort changes the entire holiday and having looked at other hotels along the becah area this was by far the best. Considering the location it was increadibly quiet and laid back compared with the noise of the other hotels. Internet a bit pricy so go into town. I would reccomend the Camel Divers Club which also has a great roof bar and two fantastic restaraunts plus a good shop with no haggling! Also worth a try is the Panorama Bar on the hilside at the far end of the main drag. Great for local music and some pipe smoking!
Wonderful!
Stayed at the Fayrouz for a week and did not want to come back. Everything previous reviewers have said did not do the hotel justice. Yes the decor is a little tired, and the bathrooms could do with a bit of a makeover, but the situation is superb and the staff are fantastic! The beach is right on your doorstep, masses of room and towels provided every day. Menus available by each umberella, turn it over when you want to order something, and someone arrives!!! Snorkelling amazing. Reef about twenty feet away from shore, so snorkels etc a must when packing. Sea not that warm at this time of year but if you are used to the UK sea temperatures all should be fine! Did not use the swimming pools as spent all our time on the beach, but they looked wonderful, again plenty of room and towels provided. Breakfast catered for all tastes with practically anything available. Did not eat in the restaurant in the evening as went into Naama Bay, but had a meal in the Italian on the beach on the first night which is buffet style, salads, barbecue, pizza and pasta. Am already planning our return trip!!
Superb hotel, Superb location!
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel if you're planning on visiting Sharm El Sheikh. Gardens are immaculate, rooms beautifully kept, staff very attentive and friendly and the pools spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfasts are fab with a huge choice of ... well, everything! With the hotel being right on the promenade it makes it a perfect central location for the bars and cafes of Naama Bay. Superb hotel in a superb location.
Great place to stay!!!
This is a great hotel, the location is superb and the gardens are imaculate. The hotel has a number of great features: - The room was always extremely clean. - Outside bars, all of which are great spots to relax and have a drink, especially in the evening. - The private beach is in a prime location and very clean. - The staff are extremely friendly. - From the beach some great excursions / water sports can be organised - recommend Tiran Island! This was a first visit to Egypt and all of the expectations of both my girlfriend and I were exceeded, especially the quality and cleanliness of the hotel. Great value for money.
HIilton Rayrouz Recommended
Just returned last night from our first visit to Sharm. Thoroughly recommend both Sharm and Hilton Fayrouz. Friendly people, great weather, great food and a very good hotel. It just makes you realise not only how much you get ripped off in the Med resorts but how unfriendly other nationalities are, even when taking your money! The staff at the hotel are very good, on the ball and professional. Rooms are good, clean & spacious (garden rooms are good). Many hotels are a walk from the beach but not this one, its got a great location, right on the beach. I'm 5 months pregnant and was unsure about the food - but there was no need to worry. Thanks to Trip Advisor we remembered somone recommended a restaurant called Dananan - TOP MARKS TO THAT PERSON!!! - its fantastic. We found it by chance just as we were getting fed up with every restaurant calling you in (what a turn off that is). Huge menu and everything was superb. Its on the corner near McDonalds - and its about the only restaurant that doesn't have to drag you in off the street - that says it all, and its always full. One word of warning about the airport - it is pretty chaotic and once you make it outside you go to your transfer vehicle and a man lifts your case onto the van. He is not the driver or connected in any way however he will demand a £1 coin from you! You could have lifted it yourself but they are very persistent! The only thing we found particularly irritating about Sharm was the drunk, abrubt, ill-mannered, queue jumping Russians. Their behavour is shocking and quite clearly they've never heard of queueing for anything. My advice? For a winter break thats not long haul you cant go wrong. Go for it, we nearly went back to the Canaries and now I dont think we ever will!
