Love it!
from jcms69
An excellent hotel with great service levels. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone and the food is execellent in most restaurants around the resort. Being only 2 storeys-high is nice. Busy regularly due to high volume of sports fans (golf and cricket), this is a place for sporting fans, if not don't visit! My wife and I keep going back because everything is so easy and enjoyable. The internal transport system (gua-gua) works well as it is an on-demand system. You request a lift from hotel to golf or restaurant, for example, and the mini-bus will arrive fairly quickly. During really busy times esp. peak summer, things go a bit slower, but you can walk to some restaurants from the hotel - we do often. August is too hot for a holiday there really, hot by the pool and on the golf course. Being polite to staff helps, I have seen too many guests being impolite which gets them nowhere!!
Why did we bother?

A poor hotel with rude, unhelpful staff, only partially redeemed by an excellent restaurant. The pool area is overcrowded and the many broken sunbeds seem to cater for as many non-residents as guests. The pool cafe heats up the burgers left out to thaw in the morning sun and for some bizarre reason will only sell you (at a ridiculous price) half litre bottles of french mineral water. There are no bar areas catering for the non-smoker and the smell of stale vomit in the sports bar is reminiscent of a student party. The shuttle bus service is laughably meant to run to a timetable, but if you decide to walk to the tennis courts (they are quite close so the lack of any signposts doesn't really matter) you can play an interesting game guessing how long the litter will stay there for. If you like sports, the tennis and football coaching are very good but this is a very disappointing place to stay
La Manga Club - If isolation is needed then.......
from CalamitySue
Villa in Los Molinos GR8. but if you have no car then you will be isolated. There is a courtesy bus but this is only available to Hyatt Hotel Patrons. You DO need a car as there is NO bus service and taxis are quite expensive, although there were exceptions. Beware of the Siesta period when the streets empty and you cannot get a taxi for love nor money. La Manga strip is NOT a good shopping area, many souvenir shops and little else. Murcia airport very crowded and struggling to cope. If you are a golf fanatic and can hire a car then you wouldnt be quite so isolated. I will not be travelling to La Langa Club again. Far too expensive. In fact the only good thing about this holiday was the relaxation and the sun.
Great villa value !
from HappyHolidayMaker57
Have just returned with our young family from a simply wonderful holiday at La Manga club. Our friends advised us to book a villa with pool (for which we booked online for £699) with a cracking company Design Holidays - who gave us a choice of over 350 villas / apartments on the resort. You can book the 5 star Hyatt hotel and pay far more, but for children the villa ticked all our boxes. We dined out every night with a variety of restaurants to suit budget / taste. With young children everyone made us most welcome. Particular favourites were La Canella / Luigi's. Also had 2 fabulous evenings in the local fishing village (10 mins by car) - Cabo do Palos. The La Manga Club kids club was superb, Design Holidays on resort staff also arranged a baby sitter on 2 evenings, wonderful service and super value and 100% trustworthy. We will be going back to La Manga Club for the next few years I am sure.
Unimpressive Resort!
from luibaty
After reading such glowing reports about La Manga Club we were distinctly underwhelmed by this purpose built resort. We stayed in Los Molinos which was ok but apartments have a slightly neglected feel to them and also their position is quite isolated as we didn`t have a car. There is a supermarket and couple of restaurants nearby in the neighbouring complex but found the restaurants in general over priced and the food to be fairly average. We ate at Asia, Le Bistro, Tom`s and La Finca but couldn`t highly recommend any of them which was frustrating. If you are looking for a resort with character and a great beach this is definately NOT the place for you and even La Manga Strip which is approx 15 mins away is quite dreadful, Benidorm is preferable. The beach at La Manga Club is dirty and very small but a nice walk to get there. Having travelled extensively I left feeling I had spent a week on a housing estate in Britain with sunshine of course, no real heart to the place, or nice squares to sit in or marina to watch the world go by. If golf/tennis are your thing and you want to speak English at all times and buy the Sun every day this is for you.
Give this place a miss

We stayed at this hotel with our two young children and our friends with their two children last year. None of us would ever go back. It is overcrowded and security is very lax - most of the people using the hotel facilties were certainly not hotel guests. You had to lunch early or late to get a table at the poolside restaurant. The hotel bars were very noisy and quite off putting with quite downmarket entertainment and lots of under age children. The mini vans between the hotel and the sporting facilites never seemed to run on time and endlessly hanging around with 4 small children in very hot weather was not much fun. Neither was the fact that we lost our booking at one of the nearby restaurants because the bus was 40 minutes late - and the concierge didn't give two hoots when we complained. I completely agree with the other review about the fact that the surroundings are luxurious but the service and company is not!
Loved it so much, we bought a villa!

We first visited La Manga in April this year and fell in love with the resort, having stayed in some amazing 5* hotels all over the world, we were very disappointed with the Hyatt Regency (service/room/pool/noise - more like an 18-30's residence than a top notch hotel!) but the resort itself more than made up for it, it's pristine and beautifully landscaped, which led us to buy a villa in Los Molinos, one of the prettiest and picturesque parts of La Manga with amazing views of the Mar Menor Sea. We have again recently returned and are planning to go again in September. I find it hard to imagine becoming bored of the resort and surrounding areas, as there is so much to do. My fiance is a keen cyclist and has travelled extensively to pursue his sport but he said the views on some of the guided routes recommended to him were breathtaking. You don't have to step foot outside the resort if you don't want to, with the fantastic award winning Golf courses, tennis courts, cycling, swimming, walking trails, pitch & putt, Spa & Leisure Centre, restaurants & bars...need I go on? I would highly recommend India - book a table on the terrace and enjoy the magnificent views which overlook the whole of the resort and top off this culinary experience. La Bodega Restaurant (Tapas) was superb early season but alas things fell to pot when we dined there in July, service and standards of food were very poor. The Spa is incredible, very contemporary and luxurious in creams and browns and very friendly staff - I booked a 'Chocotherapy' body treatment, which lasted 90 minutes and it was heaven!! Lorca Lounge is very lively after 10.30pm, be prepared to find one or two enthusiastic Europeans dancing on top of the piano, don't be alarmed, this is encouraged and makes for a great night!! The Resort particularly appeals to sport enthusiasts, but is family friendly with children's clubs, childrens pools in every part of the resort and activities laid on for all the family, for the ladies you have pampering with the 5* Spa and there are also some lovely boutiques on the resort which sell designer clothes/bags/shoes (especially Daisy's in Los Belones but be warned - save up first!!) There are an array of dining opportunities to cater to every taste and plenty of watering holes to quench your thirst, without going into touristy tacky. The Hyatt only recommends their restaurants which are expensive but there are plenty other restaurants in the resort, with a brand new Chinese opened up recently at the foot of the resort 'all you can eat' style cheap buffet at lunchtime (which my fiance tucked into after one strenuous ride!) there is Casa Victor and also the pool bar in Los Molinos, where they serve up some fabulous lunchtime seafood dishes, which won't break the bank. Also Si! Bar is a great night out, good atmosphere. Though you don't need to leave the resort, you would be missing out on the brand new magnificent El Corte Del Ingles Shopping Centre (great whilst he's on the golf course - a bus is laid out from the Hyatt on a Tuesday!) and also visit Historic Murcia and soak up the culture of this fabulous region of South East Spain. Take a vist to La Manga, with so much to do, you won't be disappointed!

Like no ther place I've been to before...

La Manga Club is truly exceptional, I reallly have never visited somewhere so different from everywhere else. Describing the Club is difficult because it has so many different sectors for starters it´s a golfers´paradise with 3 amazingly good courses, actually for most people into sports it would be paradise combine the many sports facilties including numerous tennis courts and swimming pools, the relatively new spa, the great restaurants, bars, the weather and atmosphere it´s a whole new holiday experience. The Spa is definitely worth a visit the place itself is so luxurious and the treatments are also amazing. And if your worried about speaking psanish don´t be nearly everyone speaks english. You don´t even need to leave the complex if you don´t want to there really is enough to do and the club has shops, a medical centre etc so you really don´t have to leave if you don´t want to. I would really recommend La Manga Club to all especially families. You´ll definitely never be short of things to do.

Our first trip to the Hayatt Regency was also our first trip to La Manga and boy did we strike gold. from the start the service was fantastic our cases were delivered to our room where the views were out of this world especially if you are a golfer!!!! the Hotel gave off a lovely relaxed atmosphere that made our stay most enjoyable. the pool the rooms the bars were great but the best was the shuttle cars the Hyatt arranges for you to visit other restaurants on the complex, no driving for 1 week pure bliss. after staying at the hotel a number of times now one thing i always find impressive are the staff are always the same old faces that remember the small thing, your name, your after golf drink, thats somthing that allways draws me back to the Hayatt Regency La Manga.

So - the place is huge. It is made up of about 15 "communities" - these are groups of houses/villas or apartments - each community is different in size, so ours - Montemares - was only 15 villas. I have attached photos of it. It was very luxurious - way better than I had... more
