Julio Cesar Palace Reviews
" We had a wonderful time at this... "

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The food was really good, you could choose a different restaurant each night which was waiter service or buffet at the Cleopatra.
We had a meal at the sir Anthony which we had to pay an extra 12euros each but it was well worth it The rooms although not very big were very well kept and cleaned to a high standard.
The pool area was really nice and the beds had lovely thick mattresses and you didn't have people reserving them at the crack of dawn. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to going back in December and giving the Cleopatra a whirl.

" We stayed in the Julio Cesar hotel on... "

We stayed in the Julio Cesar hotel on the Mare Nostrum Resort although as all the hotels are decorated in a similar fashion it was, in essence, no different to any of the other hotels on the resort.
The room we had was clean and comfortable - my only niggle being that our daughter was in the same bedroom as us. We did find out about upgrading our room but the extra £70 a night seemed a bit excessive.
The hotels were clean and tidy and staff were mostly friendly. The resort is on the outskirts of Las Americas and away from the dirty "Blackpool like" centre of the town. The area is much cleaner and quieter and the resort of Los Cristianos is also the same distance walk as the center of Las Americas. The hotels private beech is lovely with a nice beach club restaurant - the dinner on the beach evening here is a must if staying at the resort.
I would advise people against staying at this hotel half board. The breakfast’s were OK but the evening meals were not and we found ourselves eating out of the hotel most days. My husband will normally eat anything but even he found the meals unappetizing. There are many nice local restaurants around which are also cheaper than the half board option. And there are also the more expensive restaurants if you want to splash out. We also found the staff in the buffet restaurant to be quite rude.
The reception staff, doormen, room service and maids were all very friendly but it was the entertainers that made this hotel special. Although their English is limited they do their best to make the children (and adults) feel happy and relaxed. The shows they put on are fun and energetic and they do their best to cover a range of languages.
My best tip for a day out near here is either the Castle San Migual where you can enjoy a medieval dinner with live jousting on horse back and then a disco or the aqua park where the dolphin show is fantastic.

We had adjoining rooms to accommodate our 3 children which was a good job as the rooms are only just acceptable in size. Also no locks on the bathroom doors meant we all had to sing!
The Hotel is great with great facilities both within the hotel and at the pool. Shame there is no MSN access- this always keeps the kids happy.
Great beach access and not even a stone throw from the town. The evening entertainment was noisy until late but was acceptable and we took it in our stride.
The hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff are helpful and reliable. The food is great, breakfast could have lasted all day. We came home refreshed and relaxed and would go again.
