Excellent Hotel
This was an absolutely excellent hotel to stay at - real value for money. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. We even recieved daily confirmation for each excursion we had booked through Viator (not even through a rep or the hotel). The pools were nice and there are plenty of sun loungers around. The beach is quite gravelly but the snorkeling right off the hotel was excellent and definitely made up for it. The room we were in could do with being updated, but it was clean and comfortable (with aircon). The food largely catered for a more continental palate, but there was always something good on offer, and plenty of it. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Great vacation
I liked stay in this hotel. Rooms are simple, but clean. Beach, territory small, but really nice, food is good (better than I expected to get in Africa...). As territory is small, everything is concentrated: rooms, beach, beach bar with snacks and drinks, restaurant. You don't need to walk long if you just forgot something in the room - very comfortable with the small kids. Don't forget tip and will get kind attention from hotel stuff, will find nice flowers and birds made from hotel towels on your beds... I would propose this hotel for the tourists who are not crazy about luxury and fashion surrounding or shining design.
Good value for money although a couple of issues
We stayed here for a week and all in all I would say the hotel is good value for money although there is a couple of gripes - I shall start with the good points. - Lovely gardens and surroundings - all very clean and neat. - Good selection of food served at the restaurant and the staff go out of their way to help once they start to recognise your face. Food was cvery varied and wide choice. Large slots for mealtimes to suit all although avoide dinner when it starts at 7pm - we could not get a seat and went after 8pm from then on and had no problems. - Pools are lovely although be warned only one is heated - a good thing in January - Beach is lovely and the glass bottom snorkling trip is excellent - well worth the money - Staff were very helpful All in all a good hotel for what we paid and nice location. The rooms were a bit sparse and initially we had a twin but asked to be changed to a double which was much much bigger and brighter. The twin was very small and probably would have become an issue if we had stayed in it for the week. Now for the negatives - There is very little guidance on what is avaialable in all inclusive. Whilst there is a folder in the room with hotel information it only listed breakfast and dinner times in English so I had to try and read the russian section to get lunch times. it did not mention what was included in terms of drinks. There seemed to be no direction given to all inclusive guests as to what they could and could not have. There was mentioned of a quiet bar and library - we never found it. Again we were on day 3 when we found out about the sunny terrace serving lunches as well as the buffet in the afternoon - we were not told about this at check in. - those wristbands !!! I realise that all the hotels in the area use these for their all inclusive guests but we felt like we were in a prison so removed them as we were todl we could by recpetion. We ensure that we mentioned our room number at meal times and showed our wrist bands however every meal time for the first two days someone would come up looking for our wristbands - we ended up getting quite annoyed and wondered what the point in having staff check details at the restaurant door was if no one checked with them! - there seemed to be a lot of supervisors in leather cotas just lurking about during the day - not actually doing anything other than looking at the guests - maybe I am being picky but at one point there was four of them at lunch time - enough already! - the nightime entertainment - awful!!!! The majority of guest were Russian and Polish which is fine - I didn't come on holiday to hang out with fellow Brits but this did seem to lead to some bizzare nightime entertainment from the animation team including a 'Miss Empire' competition which had pole dancing - very bizarre!! The hotel was near to some shops although the majority of Hurghada night life and entertainment is in Sekala a ten min tax drive away - about 20 Egyptian pounds which was good. The hotel is great for a base but don't expect entertainment and it is good to get out of the hotel for a meal a couple of nights.
Perfect if you're after a beach holiday!
Unfortunately I'm not that keen on beach holidays. The room was designed for being wet so no carpets, shower only, skimpy with the towels and quite cold as the air conditioning was automatic. But on the plus side they were spacious, had a balcony and the mini market was reasonably priced. The staff at the main restaurant were absolutely lovely, they make you laugh and feel so welcome, and the dinner buffet is amazing. There are plenty of arranged activities on-site if you like that kind of thing, otherwise you can book safaris and tours to get you out of the hotel.
Great hotel
My friend and I have just returned from a very enjoyable week at the Triton Empire Beach Resort. We stayed all inclusive and were impressed with the variety and quality of the food provided. The all inclusive package also included drinks; tea, coffee, juice, soft drinks, beer and spirits and although the beer was pretty weak, the vodka certainly wasn't! We were disappointed that wine was excluded from the all inclusive deal but found that it was relatively expensive, a bottle of acceptable red cost £9 in the restaurant. On top of this there were many activities going on during the day and tha Animation team entertained us on several evenings in the Oasis bar. There was also a kiddies club which seemed to be enjoyed by the children we saw using it. We were delighted with the location of the room which was a little small but had obviously just been refurbished and was very clean; the size wasn't a problem, we hadn't gone to Hurghada to sit in our room! The cleaner of our room kept us highly amused with his very clever sculptures made out of the towels. The gardens were a delight and were continually being attended to and the beach and pool areas were clean and looked after. The staff in the restaurant and the Sunny Terrace bar were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. I had read that tipping at the beginning of the holiday ensured good service throughout the holiday but at the Triton Empire Beach Resort everyone was so friendly and helpful without any tips although we did tip at the end as a token of our appreciation. The hotel is in a quiet position about a 10/15 minute bus ride outside Segala which was the busy area with lots of shops. However minibuses and taxis were cheap, safe and plentiful so this didn't cause any problems. We did eat out a couple of times, just for a change and would highly recommend the El Mina fish restaurant about a 10 minute bus ride from the hotel. However we did not come across any other English people staying at the hotel whilst we were there, finding most of the holidaymakers being Russian, Polish, Swedish or German. Nevertheless we did find other English speaking people and have invitations to visit them in Cairo and Stockholm! All in all we had a super holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great hotel
Only 3 stars hotel, but I liked it. Rooms are basic, but i think it is enough. Staff and food (it is very important) is fine. Hotel beach has reef, so you can do snorkeling, see interesting sea creatures. So if You are tight on budget, go to this hotel. I can only compare this hotel and hotel Siag Pyramids (4 stars) in Cairo. Siag Pyramids hotel was terrible - we stayed 1 night and my wife was poisoned with food, and we had to call a doctor. We were so happy come back to Triton Empire hotel.
Relaxing holiday
This hotel was very presentable. The rooms were basic but comfortable with a balcony over the pool/beach. The beach was reasonable size and kept clean and the beach staff were helpful. The restaurant food was ok and plentiful. All inclusive meant that you could have as much tea, coffee and spirits etc but no wine. This hotel is in easy reach of town shops and bus stop was outside to Segala. We were two of only 4 english tourists staying at the time but the staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. This hotel caters for children, but there were only a few there at the time we stayed. We really enjoyed our stay. For horse riding lovers you must do the two hour desert ride on Arabian horses.
what a gem
we booked this last mintute for a 5 day trip to look at property was very suprised how good this hotel was. the rooms are looking a little tired but they have started to refurbish. The grounds pool and beach are spotless . the food was good plenty of choice and the staff could not do anough for you.tips were not expected so you tipped certain waiters that looked after you for your stay. all in all would recommened unless your looking for a stuffy 5 star. For the price a bargain !!!!
Great Hotel
This hotel was great. The rooms are basic but clean and ours was a good size. (Although, a couple we met said theirs was a little small) The food was good and as all inclusive guests, we could eat at the main restaurant as well as the beach bar which served things like pizza and sandwiches etc. There were 3 pools, all of which were fine...and cold. The beach was shingle, though this is stated on the hotel website and the sea was lovely and warm, and great for snorkelling. (we saw loads of interesting fish) The only thing missing was a nice place to sit in the evening once the evening meal was over. There are some sitting out areas and then a late night bar, however, this provided entertainment most nights. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as we found it to suit our needs completely.
ideal location
This hotel is ideally situated on the beach which is shared with its sister hotels. Space can be limited as people cram to be by the waters edge. The beach is shingle. The pools were a good size and were never overcrowded. A large selection of fish can be seen including Nemo after a short swim from the shore. We went all inclusive and found that at meal times there was plenty for you to choose from. The food was always hot and the main resturant had a good choice at lunch time and in the evenings. The beach bar served a good variety of snacks which were quite large portions. Wine is not included in the all inclusive and the beer and spirits were generally of the weaker variety. A 'dine around' service is available where you can dine at the sister hotels, a credit of £4.50 is given (drinks are not included) The room we were given upon arrival was small and we asked to change when we saw the space in our friends room, the staff were very helpful and moved us without any problems (you must appreciate that this may not always be available). Opposite the hotel the local shops start, if you keep on walking you will find hundreds (all selling the same thing). Shop keepers wanted you to look in there shops but were never really a problem, just a polite "no thank you" is suffice. Whilst out on a coach trip to luxor we realised how a lot of hotels in Hurghada are isolated with nowhere to walk of an evening or nowhere else to eat if you fancied a change from hotel food. The grounds and hotel are kept very clean and tidy. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and found the staff very helpful.
