This was our first time in Tenerife and we (well I) decided to get the cheapest flights we could and spend a little more going B&B instead of self catering. I am so pleased I made this decision and stayed at Jardin Tropical! From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the place- wonderful decor; a kind of blend of colonial and moorish styles and just my cup of tea! Initially the lady on reception was a little ignorant, prioritising a cal lover her face to face customers, but her collague took over and he was very helpful. Our room was simple, but very large and spacious, very clean and with plenty of storage space. Our balcony was also large - we think much larger than in some other rooms. Lovely to have a bath too rather than just a shower. The ONLY thing that could have made the room better is tea and coffee making facilities- but I guess I'm just too British! The next day, having arrived in the evening, we went for breakfast and were stunned at the huge range of food available. It was also really tasty, fresh and the service was excellent. You can have pancakes, waffles, and omelettes made just how you want them and there is a massive selection of fruit, cereals, pastries, breads, eggs, meats, cheeses, juices, and even sparking wine for breakfast!
There are two pools available- both are amazing. The bigger pool is at the top end and there were ample sun beds, towels and parasols to go round. The staff here, as everywhere in the complex, were really helpful. The bottom pool is fresh (very fresh in terms of temperature!) sea water and again there was plenty of room when we were there. Tip- get towels at the top pool before you go to the bottom one; it’s a long trip back up if you forget!
Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this hotel- I have already recommended it to friends and family. The carpet in the Mimosas restaurant could do with replacing- that aside, I have nothing to gripe about! Go!
We didn't eat dinner in any of the hotel restaurants, preferring to investigate local fare; but I think you could probably quite easily spend your whole holiday there and never leave the massive grounds.
One last thing, I think maybe the wealthy and well connected stay here- the Mercedes Maybach and Mclaren Mercedes soft top parked outside suggested as much!

The Jardin Tropical Hotel can best be described by its actual name.....Tropical! It is based on the sea front and is a very luxurious place to stay with palm tree's all around the complex. The swimming pool was fabulous and is like swimming somewhere in the Bahamas because of its overall look and surroundings.
The rooms were very nice and had lots of modern amenities including TV, air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathrooms were clean and also very modern looking as well.
The hotel offered a bar that sold a wide range of wines, beers and spirits and the hotel restaurant catered for our every need in terms of also offering a range of dishes. Its nice to go on holiday and try a variety of different foods and they were certainly offered here.
In addition the hotel also offered games facilities such as a table tennis table, pool table as well as a gym for people to work out in. If you wanted to be a little more relaxed you could have a massage or visit the sauna.
For parents with little children, there was a kids club that was very enjoyable for small children to be involved with.
Overall the stay at the hotel and in the resort was excellent and the prices were very affordable and competitive.

The Jardin Tropical has huge, beautiful, established gardens and magnificent views out to sea, which give the feeling of an oasis of calm.
The room rate was certainly not cheap, so our expectations were high. We were given a pleasant room with the balcony overlooking a side street, and with a sea view. Unfortunately, the noise meant the balcony was useless.
We requested a move and next day we switched to the opposite side of the hotel. The room was not as luxurious but high standard and much more peaceful. After this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The superb weather did help, no doubt.
One downside - the Mimosa restaurant: the buffet food was ok - lots of choice - but the restaurant is in need of a facelift and also some common sense management, for example order drinks, the guy brings your order.
Minutes later you begin to eat and a second guy arrives interrupting your food with a piece of paper for you to sign for the drinks.
Get up to collect a desert; return to find your table being cleared. The restaurant seemed unable to handle the volume of guests. The head waiter appeared to be ineffective and stressed; he was at times brusque to the point of rudeness when requesting guests to wait for a table.
None the less this is a beautiful retreat; the overall holiday experience was most enjoyable.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel was excellent in every way. The pools were beautiful and well maintained.
The mini club for my 7 year old daughter was fantastic, she spent a few hours a day there and made some good friends, there was also usually a show for the children in the afternoon which was a break from the sun and pool for a while. It also allowed the adults to have a few hours of relaxation time around the pool. The evening entertainment was usually good for all the family.
Staff were helpful and polite. We stayed on a B & B basis and the food was very good with a lot of choice. The food in the pool bar was also very good. A good time had by all. Would like to return!

Hotel superbly situated on the esplanade but away from the hustle and bustle and with private entrance. Room excellent, very clean and with all facilities.
Private pools were very clean and with courteous staff available at all times. Although it was only half board the food on offer was excellent with a wide spectrum of foods available from all countries. The hotel had a gym and beauty salon and evening entertainment.
There was no noisy pool-side entertainment during the day which made for a very relaxing time… Would certainly visit again.
