Hilton Kingston Hotel

Hilton is a nice hotel, but the rooms we got on the ground floor were not very impressive. The smell of mold was unmistakable and the carpet was well worn and dirty. We had two rooms and they were both in shabby condition. Our party included 8 people,and we stayed there on Oct.29th for one night. We were too tired to request change of rooms so we settled with it. I've travelled throughout the caribbean on business too many times to remember. This year my work led me to Kingston City, I'd heard alot about kingston from my co-workers back in New York, and i was kind of looking forward to it. The Kingston Hilton is a medium-sized high rise hotel in the new business area of Kingston. I believe that the place is a disgrace to the Hilton name and also to the Jamaican hospitality industry. Bad points: 1. Having stayed at Hilton properties all over the world, I can confidently state that the Kingston Hilton is the worst-maintained of any of them. Overall, my stay at the Hilton was impeccable! I checked into my executive room without a hitch, and being a return guest, I was addressed by my last name ( very impressive, i"ve only been there twice before). Breakfast was great, Judithe and Dawn were very attentive, I liked the ackees for brunch and breakfast! After reading the reviews I was hesitant about staying at the Hilton, however, since there weren't many other choices based on price, location, and reviews I chose here for my short 2 day business stay. Overall: SERVICE: The FRONT DESK service is EXCELLENT ...prompt, professional and friendly; the pool bartenders were lacking personality and seemed unapproachable, the bellhop was friendly and informative. Not up to the Hilton standard but, hey, it's Jamaica. Tower rooms are much better then the "garden" rooms. Pay the extra $15 or so dollars for a tower room! Despite some reviews I saw here, I thought service was fine. Hotel has a lively poolside social scene. If you insist on a quieter place, try the Pegasus (next door). Me? I prefer the Hilton.

I went to the Hilton after having a frightening experience at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kingston. Upon entering the lobby, I was pleased. Definitely what you are looking for. Although the room was a little expensive US$160.00 plus taxes a night, I found the hotel accommodating and staff to be very pleasant. The pool is fantastic! As a matter of fact, my 15 year old son literally lived in the pool. Lots of things to do at the hotel. After reading with some concern, some other poor reviews of the Hilton In Kingson, Jamaica, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The Hilton was not my choice. I was sent their courtesy of the airline after a mechanical problem. However, I found the staff to be outstanding and the facilities first rate. I have just stayed at this hotel and was planning on staying 2 weeks, I have managed to stay 2 nights and that was because I could not move hotels any quicker!! The staff are rude and down right sloppy most of the time, they seem to take no notice whatsoever of your requests when checking in. I returned to Kingston, Jamaica in December 2004, through you guys, and again, the trip was the BOMB! (SMILE). The Hilton is such a great Hotel with lots to do, and the staff members are really accommodating. I got married this time! Yes, on January 1, 2005, I got married in Kingston, Jamaica on the beach. I stayed at the Hilton, and this time I booked a lot of my relatives from the USA, and they loved it. This Hotel has so much to offer, until you only go on the Streets if you want to.
